What an amazing dinner this was. My daughter and I are celiacs and they catered to our GF diet beautifully. Highly recommend this place.
Reviews / Ratings for Dinette Marcella
Food was alright. Barely any taste on the carbonara, I enjoyed the other pasta more (tortellini). The carpaccio was great but you can’t mess up that. The drinks were amazing, love the pistachio espresso. Sadly the service was not good, felt like the server forgot about us after the appetizer… atmosphere was great though. Sad about the food and service.
What a great service and great food. The lobster pasta was so good and yummy and the veal was so good.
My wife and I had the pleasure of dining at Dinette Marcella on F1 weekend. The atmosphere in Old Montreal on F1 weekend is unbeatable, especially when the Montreal Canadians are deep into the playoffs. The vibe of the restaurant Is very good. It is not big, but the staff move with ease around each other. After chatting with a few of them, I came to learn that most of them have worked there since it opened 4 years ago! The fact the staff stayed together says a lot about quality ownership in my opinion as a small business owner. Megane was our server and she was fantastic! Very engaging, funny, helpful, informative, a total super star! I had the lobster Macaroni which was the best I've ever had. My wife had the tortellini and enjoyed it very much. The lightning and open air windows were perfect and thankfully, so was the weather. I gave it 4 stars for food because I did not enjoy the bruschetta or the Marcella Martini. The Martini was a but to sour for my liking. I'm a total Bruschetta snob. It is very hard to impress me with this appetizer. It had a nice taste, I just thought it was too busy especially considering the bread was cut so thin it could not support the toppings. Other wise, I am already looking forward to booking our reservations for next year's race and we hope to revisit this wonderful restaurant again for many years to come!!
Incredible food loved every bite. Highly highly recommended
Montreal vibe - authentic, cozy and super delicious
Favorite dinner from F1 🏎️ weekend. Great location, and I think the friendliness of the staff and the general atmosphere made the the dinner. The bartender with the curly hair and glasses was an awesome guy, really great personality. The Caesar salad and the barata were excellent
Really enjoyed this restaurant went twice during my short weekend stay - pasta dishes were great.
This restaurant delivered an exceptional dining experience from start to finish. Every dish was thoughtfully prepared and full of authentic flavor. The polpette were perfectly seasoned and tender, while the arancino had a crisp exterior with a rich, savory filling. The insalate Cesare was fresh and well-balanced, and the focaccia was warm, airy, and absolutely delicious. The tortellini alla ricotta stood out as a highlight—delicate pasta filled with creamy ricotta and served in a beautifully crafted sauce. To finish, the tiramisu was the perfect ending: light, indulgent, and not overly sweet. The service was attentive and welcoming, adding to the overall experience. This is truly a must-visit spot for anyone who appreciates authentic Italian cuisine done right. A huge shout out to Mike, Asia and the whole staff and cooks.
Cruising through Montreal on River Boat and found this wonderful eatery on line. Sat at the bar and enjoyed the ambience and the bar staff and general manager’s short visit. Co
Great place! We ordered the Marcella salad, pesto pasta, gnocchi with shrimp, and carbonara. The portions were good, and I highly recommend the pesto pasta — it was unique and absolutely delicious. The Marcella salad was also special. We also tried the burrata, which was very good. The atmosphere is bright, cozy, and inviting, right in the heart of the Old Port. I’d definitely recommend making a reservation before coming.
I had a really disappointing experience at Dinette Marcella and would not recommend it. I didn’t even get to try the food because the service was terrible. We waited over 30 minutes for our order, while the table beside us ordered the same food around the same time, received their meal, finished eating, and our food still had not arrived. When I brought it up, the staff were completely unapologetic, and the manager didn’t seem to care or offer any real solution. I ended up having to cancel my order and walk out of the restaurant. The lack of communication, accountability, and basic customer service was honestly frustrating. There are many other places where customers are treated better, so I would avoid this place.
Beautiful boutique restaurant. Great flavours and friendly staff.
We had delicious pastas. The service was excellent and it was a relaxed atmosphere.
Absolutely amazing every time! No doubt the best restaurant in the city, and our all-time favorite. Staff is exceptional and the food is always amazing!
Thought the food was just ok. Would not return/recommend
The food and services were fantastic, and the staff was incredibly helpful and friendly. They offer a buttery pasta dish specifically for babies, but it’s not stroller-friendly. The space is quite tight, so you’ll need to leave your stroller in the corner.
Amazing atmosphere and delicious food. Thank you so much for the hospitality Sandy and Ethan 🤍
Huge fan and will be back again 🙌🏽
Food was amazing and the place is really charming! Also the staff was great, everyone was so nice :) Will definitely be back!
Incredible food and service. The aubergine appetizer and pesto pasta were absolutely amazing!
We ordered the eggplant Parmesan, a salad, and two pastas. The eggplant was overcooked and the sauce was flavorless. The pastas were shockingly bland and mediocre. Saltless food with no flavor - our server at no point asked us how the food was. Stay away, the place is nice with a good vibe so you get sucked in - but a 10 year old could cook me a better meal.
This place had the absolute best arancini I've ever had in my life with truffle inside, it was amazing! I wish the entree was a bit more flavorful, the subtle taste was nice but a bit larger portion of smoked cheese would have been nice. I did really like the dessert, the special was a fluffy pistachio cheesecake, which was not overpowering it was quite nice!
Food was pretty good (but limited vegetarian options) and the service was fine. The atmosphere would have been great but there was a bachelorette party with around 16 girls at the table behind us so it was too loud to hear each other speak on our date. That element really hindered our experience.
This place does NOT disappoint! Service is friendly, love the atmosphere and the food is impeccable. (Arancini is THE best!) We will be back every time we visit Montreal! 👍🏻👍🏻
