First time in Montreal and came across this Italian restaurant, they allowed us to walk-in and gave us window seats. Unfortunately we had to split our group into two. Pasta (I had the Gnocchi Bolognese) was great, saucy and a good portion size. I was stuffed. There were a variety of appetizers, we order Calamari and Tuna Crudo, both fresh and enjoyable. I would recommend this place and hopefully come again whenever I visit Montreal.

Excellent restaurant! Delicious food and generous portions. The service was very good, and the place is cozy and well located. We went twice during our vacation in Montreal. We loved it and highly recommend it. The only suggestion for improvement would be to offer more meat-based dishes, such as steak with pasta, for example.

I was on a trip with my friends and we were extremely excited to spend our last night in Montreal at this restaurant. We called them at 11:50AM to get a reservation where the phone said that they had availability at 5, 5:30, and 9PM. We made a reservation at 9PM for a table of eight. After we hung up, I received a text at 11:58AM to complete the reservation and send an email with all the required information. This email was sent at 12:01PM and we had no further contact with the restaurant. At 8:50 PM, we showed up to our reservation and were turned away because a confirmation email was not received. This confirmation email was not mentioned in the phone call and we were extremely disappointed. The staff was not able to do anything although we had done everything on our part and said that we made the mistake of not getting the confirmation email. Overall, terrible service and I would not suggest coming here.

Hi Nika, we understand your frustration. However, we do need email confirmations for groups larger than five. You did email us as 12pm on Saturday requesting a reservation for eight people that same evening. Unfortunately your email did end up in a spam folder and was never received. Upon your arrival, we apologized profusely and our hostess went out of her way to go above and beyond to walk you across the street (it is -20 Celsius in Montreal at the moment) to another restaurant named Mati, whom informed us that you had an exceptional experience. We do apologize in regards of not being able to serve your party of 8 on a busy Saturday night.

I visited this local pasta restaurant as a walk-in and was seated at the bar, which was much appreciated as a solo traveler. Not needing a reservation and still being accommodated made the experience feel welcoming and relaxed. The food was absolutely delicious, with very generous portions, I left feeling extremely satisfied. The service was attentive and friendly throughout. A great spot with excellent pasta and a comfortable atmosphere, I would definitely recommend it to groups and solo travelers alike.

Absolutely loved this restaurant. Arrived around 5pm on a Saturday night and was able to get a table immediately. Got the buratta and the tortellini and a side of focaccia bread and it was all amazing! Best Italian I have had in a really long time. The server was also great as they never let your water lower than halfway in your glass. If I'm ever back in Montreal I will definitely come here again.

Cute spot for lunch on a Friday and was my 1st time here. The decor brings Old Montreal to life and the service was very professional, but also warm and friendly. I had the Tuna Crudo, a green salad and focaccia. Very delicious and the leftover focaccia had to come home with me, it was that good. My companion had a Caesar salad and arancini, which was served in a creamy, truffle-y, garlicky sauce that was oh so delicious. Shout out also to the coffee cherry martini.... really enjoyed that :)

Amazing spot. Both dinners we ordered gluten free and were fantastic. I loved the cannolis! Michael was a great bartender and very knowledgeable. Highly recommend and will be back!

Food was solid. Great portions, reasonably priced and tasty all around. Had a Cesar salad and tortellini. Caesar was garlicky like it should be. Tortellini was really nice. It’s a smallish restaurant with plenty of bar seating and was incredibly busy for a Thursday night. It does get a little loud. Nitpick: bartender uses his hands on occasion to put ice in drinks.

The restaurant is nice but the food is TERRIBLE and overpriced for what you get. 1000% tourist trap. Anyone on here taking about it being as good as pasta in Italy is lying. Also the waitress was super bizarre. They also never answer their phone. Skip it. We went to Garage Beirut - HUGE DIFFERENCE. Skip this place and go there instead. Edit response to the owner: I was being restrained in my original review. To be specific: our server ignored us for long stretches, took an unusually long time to take our order, made no effort to engage, and was unhelpful when we asked basic questions about the menu. That is not standard or acceptable service, which is why I described the experience as bizarre. What’s more concerning is the defensiveness in your response. When a customer shares a negative experience, professionalism looks like curiosity and accountability, not dismissal. Suggesting that a bad review must be dishonest simply because others enjoyed their visit says more about how feedback is handled than about the feedback itself. I had a poor experience and shared it. Readers can draw their own conclusions.

I took my sister here for her birthday. As someone not living in Montreal, I chose this place based on reviews among several options in the area. We ordered Polpette for appetizers, which was good, and Cavatelli alla Pesto, which was surprisingly very sour and had a strange taste. We also tried Gnocchi Bolognese, which didn’t taste good either, and we couldn’t finish any of the dishes. I’m still surprised this place has such a high rating.

We went there for our anniversary. We are vegetarian. So, for us there were not many options available. Even some restaurants offer mushrooms as a replacement of non veg, but don't expect that here as they don't carry mushroom in their kitchen. We ordered Pesto pasta which was average in taste. Quantity was low as per ther price. And cakes are not complementary on your birthday or anniversary. We order tiramisu that was also ok ok. Overall experience was not up to the mark.

Thank you Kiran for the four stars. We're disappointed to hear we didn't meet your expectations. We carry fresh ingredients and unfortunately mushrooms are only in season from May to October. As for other vegetarian options, we carry 12 items already vegetarian and almost all of our pastas can be made without meat. We do hope you return and give us another chance, all feedback is important and all comments are acknowledged!

Ive been to Marcella's several times and it never seems to disappoint! Always on point, the food is great and all the staff are amazing ! You know a restaurant is top notch when they have the same staff members for 3 years + ! Big shout out to fred, Max, hiba, Elijah and Megane for making me feel at home every single time!

Regular customer, enjoy the food and service, need to sort out the front door in winter cause way too cold anywhere near it. Need to get on Open Table as the reservation process is annoying… has been for a while.. Will return
