Reviews / Ratings for Deville Dinerbar
So far my favourite place in Montreal
Stylish brunch, with fun showy food. We had stuffed french toast and the chimichurri steak avocado. The steak was spicy and perfectly cooked. The french toast was delicious though a tad sweet and I wish the dark amber taste of the syrup wasnt so overwhelmed by everything else. The sports were fun to watch on the tvs. A little dissapointed that the super comfy booths were all taken already. You see them on the way in and then once inside you realize you have to sit at a tiny bar table. The prices were just too high. I see this comment a lot in restaurant reviews but this time its legitimately true. Almost $100 and we barely ate or drank anything.
Food itself was solid. I think their standard menu, enjoyed at a counter would be fine. Major issues, service was absurdly slow, 30 minutes to get water, over 90 minutes for food. Burger was not done to temperature, we ordered one refill of drinks, it never came until requesting twice, and beer was wrong. Delays were not only us but all tables in the section, manager was called out to apologize to adjacent table as they were late for a show. I think they may have just left. This might be tied to an expanded race weekend menu of things I would not want to order at a "diner bar" style restaurant. This may have created some chaos for the kitchen. Minimally I would avoid over any kind of event weekend.
The food here is very very good. Lots of fun items on the menu. I got the Umami Steak Frites and it was exceptional. .
Had a drink after the Habs game. Food looked delicious but they had sold out of the item ali really wanted so we only had drinks. Service was quick and staff was kind.
This place was great from start to end. Perfectly located near Peel Metro. Great ambiance, good music, not too loud, we could actually have a conversation. Now, all the employees were super nice, nice smiles, beautiful attitudes, and our server, Igor, was the B.E.S.T. Kind, entertaining, knowledgeable, made great suggestions. The food and drinks were P.E.R.F.E.C.T!!
Visiting from the states - booked a reservation and we were glad we did. Our server John R was very friendly and helpful with menu suggestions. The food was delicious and the ambiance has a diner theme thus the name. Thank you!
1 star is too many. I would give zero if I could. The service was slow and rude. They gave me attitude for giving an 18% tip and there was a bug in my water.
Came for some drinks and food post concert and we were welcomed by the bisexual lighting inside deville dinerbar (my ideal lighting). The ambiance was a vibe though and despite my lighting comment, it was a more straight crowd. The servers were great and very attentive! Helped us pick drinks with great knowledge behind each one she was talking about. I do wish they had cider since I’m less of a beer fan but if you’re into beer, there’s a new one seemingly every week! the food was delish though my Cesar salad felt unfinished since it was leaves of lettuce with toppings which made me feel like a grass feeding animal when eating it. Flavour was great though! the steak sandwich was cooked to perfection and very flavourful. The fries were quite skinny so they lose heat fast, so eat those first to avoid cold fries if you have them! Overall I feel like it was a good experience but I’m not sure I’ll come back soon as it was quite pricy for what it is.
Arrived late in Montreal and needed somewhere to eat close to our hotel. Deville was one of the few places open at that time and we were pleasantly surprised with how amazing it was. We expected it to be a greasy spoon but when we walked in the vibe was closer to a modern cocktail bar crossed with an old school dinner. The drinks we amazing and food was exceptional.
The Pollo chicken absolutely sublime
We reserved for Valentine’s Day and although it was packed the service was great, the food was amazing and the staff were friendly
I want to talk about how this is one of the best restaurants in terms of food, staff, and overall team. The food was extremely delicious, and they also really take care of new employees, which is something I truly believe in as a customer. It shows they value their staff, and everything was perfect for me. Highly recommended.
Cool ambiance, excellent food and excellent service!
Best place in town for brunch or dinner date. The food was so good, I still dream of it. Also, the service was amazing!! Maika is the best waitress, ask for her when you come.

I had the filet mignon and ordered it medium but it came well so for that I give 3 stars. The rest of the meal however came out great. And I give 10 stars for the service Jin at the bar was amazing friendly and made the meal all that better
Last minute stop before they closed Thursday 4/23. Great service and the burgers were great. Got the Black Label… mmhmm.. enjoyed the fires too! Nice vibe! Went back Saturday 4/25 for brunch… omg.. the steak and eggs Tartine was sooo good, everyone loved what they got. We came in group of 10 each time and were easily accommodated. Definitely recommend!!!
music was too loud on the patio out the back they should turn it down so that people can enjoy their food
horrible service, rude staff, overpriced and dissapointing food
Delicious food, fun atmosphere and nice staff. Had a hard time deciding what to eat because everything looked so good! The dessert was so bomb!
