Terrible service! We had a confirmed reservation for a big groupe Saturday night. When we arrived we had to wait 45mins past our reservation time to be seated. When they did seat us the groupe before us was still leaving and the tables were not yet set up. The server came after 15 mins to see if we wanted any drinks and proposed to bring us water which took her another 15 mins to bring. Very disappointing so my boyfriend and I left. Super hyped but not worth it in my opinion.

I had an amazing experience at Cococina. The food was absolutely delicious—fresh, full of flavor, and beautifully presented. Every dish we tried was on point, and you can really tell they take pride in what they serve. What really stood out, though, was the service. Nelson was super great—friendly, attentive, and made us feel welcome right away. He went above and beyond to make sure everything was perfect, and it honestly made the whole experience even better. I’ll definitely be coming back and recommending Cococina to others. Highly worth it!

The front-of-house service here is a disaster. We showed up for our scheduled reservation only to be barked at to wait downstairs because the table wasn't ready. No apology, no hospitality, just a rude attitude. If management thinks this is how you treat guests who arrive on time, they need a serious reality check. The worst experience I’ve had in the city

Poor management and even worse service. We had a reservation, but the staff was rude and dismissive, forcing us to wait downstairs because they weren't prepared. For a city with such great hospitality, this place is a massive letdown. Avoid

I rarely leave one-star reviews, but the service here was unacceptable. Despite arriving on time, we were met with an impolite attitude and told to wait downstairs. A restaurant's job is to make guests feel welcome, but we felt like a nuisance from the moment we walked in. Definitely not the standard you expect in Montreal.

Incredibly disappointing experience. We arrived exactly on time for our reservation, only to be told impolitely that our table wasn't ready and that we had to go back downstairs to wait. There is a way to handle delays, but being rude to guests is not it. Easily the worst customer service I’ve experienced in Montreal. I won't be coming back

I went to Cococina on a Saturday night in February with friends… one of those girls nights where no one is in a rush and the plan is just to sit, share plates, take lots of photos and videos and let the conversation stretch as long as it wants. It’s a newer spot… opened in December… but it already feels like it fits perfectly in the old port. The space pulled me in right away. Low lighting, warm tones, abstract silhouette lamps, these beautiful backlit murals… everything feels intentional. It kind of felt like we left Montréal for a few hours without actually getting on a flight. There was a DJ playing in the background… enough to give the night some energy, but still soft enough that we could stay in our little bubble at the table. That balance is rare and they got it right. We leaned into the shared plates… which honestly feels like the best way to do it here. The roasted cauliflower was one of those dishes you keep reaching for without realizing… glazed in this Moroccan barbecue sauce with lemon confit. Smoky, tangy, a little sweet… everything just made sense together. The scarpetta Cococina… braised lamb with basil oil and parmigiana… was rich in that comforting, slow-cooked way. The kind of dish where you pause for a second after a bite because it’s actually that good. We also tried the chips and dip with smoked salmon, caviar, and truffle crema… a little extra, a little fun. Definitely a “we’re out, let’s enjoy this” kind of plate. The only thing that didn’t fully land for me was the fried calamari. It was fine… just didn’t have the same moment as the other dishes. Overall, this felt like a place you go for the full experience… not just the food, but the feeling of being there. The lighting, the music, the pacing of the night. I’d come back for another girl dinner with friends… or maybe a cute date.

Super rude and unprofessional management … On February 27th, I was contacted regarding a potential influencer collaboration. I was away that week and suggested following up the next week. When I did, I received a response via Instagram that your influencer budget was exhausted for the next five weeks, and I was advised to follow up after the 5 week period. Following that guidance, I reached out again in early April to inquire politely about any updates. Instead of receiving a professional response, I was blocked from your Instagram account, despite my follow-up being standard practice in my industry. When I attempted to call to speak with someone else, the same manager answered and responded dismissively, saying, “do what you want.” This reaction was both immature and unprofessional, and it reflects poorly on your establishment. As a result, I have left a one-star review on Google and have decided not to visit your restaurant. I had intended to bring a large group for a friend’s birthday this weekend, but canceled due to the unprofessional behavior I experienced. I hope you take this feedback seriously as an opportunity to improve staff professionalism and the management of influencer outreach. Being reached out to first, only to be blocked and dismissed, is an embarrassing misstep for a high-end restaurant.

I was pleasantly surprised by my experience at Cococina! The manager, Nelson, truly made our evening fun and memorable. The restaurant’s atmosphere is a full 10/10, and the food—another 10/10—is genuinely top-tier. Honestly, it ranks in my top 3 restaurants in all of Montreal. The staff were kind, helpful, and welcoming. Nelson gave us a red-carpet service, and I just want to thank him for making our night exceptional.

this was easily the worst, most chaotic and infuriating restaurant experience i have ever had, and the fact that we paid around $400 for this mess makes it even more insane. from the moment we walked in, it was clear they had no idea what they were doing. we had a reservation for two hours, yet before we even sat down properly they were already rushing us and acting like we had no time. they kept repeating that we needed to order immediately because we “only had 30 minutes” which is completely absurd considering we booked in advance. and the worst part? instead of letting us actually look at the menu and order, the waitress stood there stressing us out, talking non stop about how rushed we were. she literally wasted around 15 minutes of our time just panicking and pressuring us while also telling us we had no time to eat. it made zero sense and just created unnecessary anxiety. honestly, someone like that should not be working in a restaurant at all. the way she handled the situation was completely incompetent and stressful for no reason. it didn’t stop there. staff kept coming back over and over to rush us, making it impossible to enjoy anything. we couldn’t relax for a single second because they made us feel like we were being kicked out the entire time. at some point it got so ridiculous that we had to start doing their job ourselves, moving chairs, handling plates, reorganizing everything because no one there could manage anything properly. then we were basically pushed off our table and moved to the bar mid meal like we were nothing. asking for the manager was a complete joke. the guy (simo) or whatever his name has no idea what he is doing, takes no control, no solutions, no accountability. just a disorganized mess from start to finish. we paid so much for such mediocre food just to be stressed out, rushed and treated like we were in the way the entire time. absolute disaster. never again. keep this in mind before thinking of going there.

Such a vibe!!! A really gorgeous new spot. Nelson was our server - super knowledgeable about the menu and made amazing recommendations, the food was fantastic, options for everyone and we loved the sharing aspect. The atmosphere, vibe and design of the place is so well done but the service is the main reasons I’ll be back again&again!
