Best food in Quebec. Every plate is just amazing!
What guests say about Chez Temporel
Chez Temporel receives a lot of praise for the quality of its cuisine, with dishes often described as delicious, well presented, and well seasoned. The service is regularly judged to be warm, attentive, and professional, and the atmosphere is often seen as friendly, cozy, or charming. A few people also note good value for money, but one rare negative experience concerns tipping and another mentions a strong kitchen smell. Overall, it is a very well-rated spot that seems like a solid choice for an enjoyable meal in Quebec City.

This place was recommended to us by a friend and it did not disappoint!! Really high quality food that was perfectly seasoned and a great ambiance. I especially loved the mushroom risotto and tomato soup.
Food was well executed. Loved everything I had. Service was warm and pleasant.
What a gem! Excellent service. Food was amazing! Especially the Octopus. OMG! Highly recommend this spot. Creme brulee was delicious!
A small and lovely restaurant with a cozy atmosphere. The staff were attentive and took great care of us throughout the visit. The food was delicious and definitely worth the price.
We enjoyed a pleasant lunch of chilli and beef bourgeon with wine. The atmosphere was refreshing. However, the experience became unsatisfactory after we paid our bill. The waitress requested a tip, suggesting we were tourists and explaining that it is customary to leave a 20% tip which is important for the waitress’s earnings. We normally leave cash as a tip for good service. This outburst left us uncomfortable and she did not provide good service. Consequently, we did not leave a tip.
People & service were amazing. Warm & welcoming atmosphere. Sugar pie - wow!
Wonderful ambience, service and food! Plus it’s situated in a quiet street in Old Quebec.
We had a wonderful meal here. The staff were friendly, the atmosphere was delightful, and our food was delicious. My wife had the hamburger and it was one of the best we’ve ever had. The French Onion soup was perfect!
Fresh, tasty and delicious food coupled with great service made this a trip fave. This local gem was an excellent choice and the charming staff and beautiful atmosphere just enhanced the experience. The menu had many options for any time of day and meal preference and the coffee was wonderful! Highly recommend.
Wow, just wow! An absolute must try. With a three time winning Michelin star chef behind the menu, every detail of the experience feels elevated. I have no doubt this restaurant is set to become one of Quebec City’s standout culinary destinations!
Really good. Down staff and while it took a bit to get our food and drinks, dude was totally doing what he could. All very good food.
Excellent coffee and croque madame
An amazing little Bistro in Old Quebec City with warm friendly service and quaint atmosphere.
Great all around. Reviews say three best croque Monsieur in old Quebec. Although it's them only one I had, I believe it. Very very good.
Perfect!
We enjoyed the apple 5 ways which was beautifully done, the salmon, beef tartar and the delicious french onion soup. The restaurant had a lovely atmosphere and it was very friendly . I have already recommended it!
Very nice food, good service and quite a nice setting except for the strong smell of the cooking given the kitchen’s proximity to the dining area. Not a huge menu.
Outstanding food and service, nice atmosphere, absolutely will return.
I have been to many good restaurants in my life, been to many different countries and have experienced many different cuisines. Rarely do I say that a restaurant is perfect, but WOW this experience was perfect. EVERYTHING was thoughtful and intentional: the flavor profiles were fresh and funky, the staff were kind and considerate, the music and interior were eclectic and the wine was spot on. If you can only visit one restaurant in Quebec city, I would definitely reccomend this one.
Absolutely fantastic spot!! Bartender was amazing! Food was incredible and authentically French!! Deserves all the stars!!!
So good!
A quiet lunch spot at 2 pm on a Sunday, cosy environment downstairs, larger area upstairs, and a welcoming smile from the server. Menu is not extensive but if the snails and French onion soup are anything to go by, you won't be disappointed if you go for a larger meal. Both were served piping hot. The snails were suitably chewy and flavoursome, but the soup was the best French onion I've ever had. A little bit off the main street but being tucked away is probably a bit of a bonus, especially if you’re in a laid back mood.
My partner and I were in Quebec City off season (early april) and stumbled into this place on our first day for lunch. The atmosphere is so charming and cozy I remember it very fondly, and that includes the dishes. Coffee was ok and the breakfast croissant was pretty good (with my favorite croissant I tried in Quebec City/Montreal but I'm not an expert) but it was the duck confit salad we still reminisce about. It made me want to eat salad for every meal, light and rich at the same time! Definitely worth a stop by if you get the chance, especially since it is in a very charming part of the old city too.
Duck salad was the best meal we had in the whole city! Amazing good and service
