The food was fantastic! The lobster bisque was a bit too strong, but the beef cheek was amazing. If you’re ever in the area, I highly recommend the beef cheek main dish. The chicken dish was also great. The service was excellent, and the atmosphere was fine.
Reviews / Ratings for Chez Lionel - Montréal
Had an excellent dinner to celebrate the end of our conference. The lobster bisque was excellent, but surpassed by far by the beef cheek. I wish they had a broader selection of beers on tap, but the red ale was quite nice.
The food was well prepared and delicious. The service from our waiter John was on point. I would recommend this restaurant if you want amazing food and an exceptional experience!
Chez Lionel is simply superb !!! Great service from John who helped make choices and describe the dishes. We went for the gnocchi and the confit of duck. Both dishes were amazing
Food is great and the lunch set menu is at a very decent price, but service has ups and downs. Last time we went, the waitress looked mildly inconvenienced with us and then another waitress almost dropped a plate on us (it fell and smashed to the floor next to us). Also what a weird location for the bathroom…?
Best French cuisine restaurant I know in Montreal
Classic French bistro. The restaurant looks elegant and clean (not like some of the posts said). We went for a group of 12, and they have big space for large group.
Amazing restaurant with great food!
Great restaurant for upscale ambiance without being fussy. Close to Bell Center and a lot of activity, perfect on hockey night (they have 2 screens behind the bar, but it's not a "sports bar", it's more elegant. Staff is very friendly but competent too. My duck magret was tasty, presentation could be improved Good selection of wine by the glass. Great place for a date in a lively but elegant atmosphere.
After several visits I can truly say how impressed with the operation. Every member of the staff seemed genuinely focused on delivering a great guest experience.
Gabriel was awesome.
Perfect Pre-game or Pre-event sport for the Bell Centre. Quick service, very good bistro food.
Absolute wonderful service. Flew in from the United States and were treated like royalty here. The manager and waitstaff are top notch and the food was out of this world. Would recommend to anyone in the area traveling to Canada!
Expensive lunch for Fish and ravioli badly cooked and badly seasoned. Only the tartare was acceptable- machine cut and no outstanding flavor but not too bad .
This restaurant looks great, but the flavors don’t keep up with the aesthetics. The items are overpriced and uninspired. I ordered the blood pudding and my partner ordered the hanger steak. The pudding was just fine, and my partner’s steak was pretty, but tough and mediocre in flavor. For this being one of the most expensive meals we’ve had here it was a disappointment. That being said, the staff were all friendly and the ambience was well-curated.
Mouse traps everywhere! Don’t get the tartar…
The food was delicious. The oyster platter with bottle of cremant was incredible. The fois gras parfait was not as good as we had hoped... the rest of the food was very good! Would definitely go back again. The waiter was very good and knew his stuff. Good recommendations! The atmosphere was good not very busy but nice for a night out.
Food was AMAZING and the service is great! I would definitely come back..
One word. INCREDIBLY DELICIOUS 🤌🏼
My husband and I were in town for a short visit and stumbled into Chez Lionel on a whim, without a reservation. We were greeted very warmly and shown to a table where we enjoyed a phenomenal meal. Everything, from the cocktails to the lobster bisque, fried oyster mushrooms, duck confit, hangar steak, and charcuterie and cheese board, was absolutely exceptional. The entire staff was friendly and welcoming, but John's service was outstanding. I would absolutely recommend Chez Lionel in a heartbeat!
Best thing on the menu is the Beef Bourguignon! It was delicious !! The crème brûlée was also a very good choice for dessert .We sat at the bar and our waiter was amazing! He was super friendly and knowledgeable. The manager was very polite and friendly as well. I was not a fan of the fried calamari and would have enjoyed softer , warmer bread , but had a nice experience!
Great service with our waiter Amine!
When we went, there was an event menu where you can get one starter and one entree for 50$ CAD, which is a really good deal! The salmon tartare was great, slightly sour and very creamy, but the duck confit was amazing! A wonderful sweet salty sauce and soft duck with crispy skin. Would recommend!
Oysters were terribly small and not tasty. Negroni cocktail contained practically no alcohol. Food did not justify the price.
The burger was a 3/10 but the rest was good. However, everything is too salty. Great service and ambiance!
