We went for Feb 13 to celebrate Valentine’s, for a set menu the service took a bit too long, the restaurant was busy but not to the point the food was coming late. The server was super polite and professional. The price was high for the quality/portion.

The food was excellent — truly A+. Unfortunately, the kitchen was very slow and brought our main course before the appetizer, which was disappointing. It was a Valentine’s Day menu, and while they offered complimentary additional wine and shooters to make up for the delay, the extra wine was appreciated, but the shooters didn’t really fit the atmosphere. Our waitress was very kind and apologetic, which we genuinely appreciated. The décor, however, was just okay — a bit on the cheaper side for the occasion. Overall, the experience felt expensive at $255 plus tip for two people, especially considering the service timing issues.

Excellent cafe. One of the nicest ones I’ve been to in the last few years in the greater Montreal area. The food is terrific and the service is excellent. It’s a little loud in there due to the music which for some reason they don’t want to turn down. We will definitely keep going back.

My son and I stayed at the adjoining Holiday Inn and tried out this resto. (It was so good that I came back the following evening!) Very nice bar and seating areas. Excellent French cuisine with some Quebecois twists. Good wine list as well. The staff were friendly and courteous. They even offered to seat a large group at short notice on a Sat night. Thanks to the whole team, but especially Amy at the front and our server, Megane.

I recently dined at CHEZ LIONEL and had an absolutely wonderful experience! From the moment we walked in, I was greeted with warm smiles and a welcoming atmosphere that set the tone for the evening. AMY the manager , in particular, was exceptional. She went above and beyond to ensure our dining experience was perfect, offering insightful recommendations for both food and drinks. The ambience was truly delightful – the decor was charming, and the lighting created a cozy yet vibrant setting that made our meal feel special. The food was phenomenal; each dish was beautifully presented and delicious. It’s clear that attention to detail is a priority for the entire staff. What stood out the most was the hospitality shown by AMY and her team. They were attentive without being intrusive, and their genuine care for our experience made us feel valued as guests. I couldn't have asked for a better evening out! I highly recommend CHEZ LIONEL LAVAL to anyone looking for fantastic food and an unforgettable dining experience. I was at this restaurant for brunch, and it was amazing! I had the apple french toast which was very good. The service was fast and all in all was a very good restaurant.

My husband and I went for an early supper. Our waitress Coralie was very friendly and gave excellent service. The ambiance was lovely and the food delicious. We took the three course special and there were several choices to choose from. I would highly recommend it!

The service we had from Jeremy was excellent. Friendly, knowledgeable and efficient. We had the salmon tartare and the blood sausage; our friends both had the seafood risotto and everyone was delighted about their experience. Kudos to the kitchen team! The menu and the wine list both have a wide selection and varied price options. We will definitely go again!

All around you can’t go wrong with this restaurant. Our server was exceptional food was fantastic. Restaurant well kept. Portions are good but in my plate I would have liked just a little more.

My friend had a mocktail she didn't like, too bitter, she told our server and she immediately replaced it with another one much to her liking, that was greatly appreciated.

Had been waiting for this location to re-open and they did not disappoint. The decor was beautiful, staff were super friendly and they made you will like a VIP the second you walk in. Started off with a gin based cocktail which was fresh and well balanced. Then we shared some white wine as they had 50% off certain wines that night. We shared a few entrees, french onion soup bites, fried calamari, oysters, beef carpaccio and fresh bread. For the main meal i the Joue de beouf which was too die for. Very soft, flavorful and a great portion. The rest of my party really enjoyed their meals as well. Was there to celebrate my birthday and i was very to happy to share this great restaurant with my family. Will definitely return and i highly recommend.
