Café Bla-Bla
Café Bla-Bla 2 Rue Wellington S, Sherbrooke
Review summary

What guests say about Café Bla-Bla

Café Bla-Bla seems to offer a warm bistro atmosphere, with a popular terrace and a renovated dining room that many find pleasant. The food often receives good comments, especially the mussels, burgers, and some cocktails, with prices seen as reasonable by several customers. On the other hand, many reviews point to inconsistent and sometimes very slow service, with long waits and a few disappointments with the menu or portion sizes. It’s an appealing option if you value the atmosphere and the classics, but it’s best to be patient.

Having been on the highway for over 8 hours, dropping off our daughter back at school, all we wanted was to sit and have a good meal. While we were seated and menus dropped off quickly, that's where it all came to a grinding halt. I ordered the Steak Tartar appetizer, My wife (Caesar Salad), our daughter (Burger) and after an hour we were still without food. These are not complicated items!!! Guests that were seated after us were getting their meals quickly. When I questioned things (in English), I was looked down on and said it is on its way. When it finally did arrive the toast was burnt. I asked politely to replace it. 15 minutes later I still could not start my meal. When I questioned once again, the waiter argued with me. It was obviously the fact that I was English, even though my wife speaks French very well. Save your money and try La Buvette Du Centro (Great Patio, Food and service), just down the street.

Hello, Thank you for taking the time to write to us. After more than 8 hours on the road, we completely understand that all you wanted was to sit down, relax, and enjoy a good meal with your family. Unfortunately, your experience was clearly not up to the standard we strive to offer at Café Bla-Bla. The wait you experienced, the burnt toast, and especially the additional delay before you could enjoy your meal are not the kind of experience we want our guests to have. We are also especially sorry that you felt you were treated differently because you were speaking English. At Café Bla-Bla, everyone is welcome, and the language someone speaks should never affect the way they are treated. That is simply not the spirit we want to create in our restaurant. We are currently in a period of reopening and, like any new team finding its rhythm, we still have some things to adjust. However, that should never come at the expense of our guests. Your comment gives us an opportunity to step back, look at what happened, and do better. We truly wish we could have given you a completely different experience, especially for something as simple and meaningful as enjoying a meal together as a family. Thank you nonetheless for choosing to visit us. We sincerely hope that one day you will give us the opportunity to show you the real Café Bla-Bla: warm, welcoming, and unpretentious. Stopped in Sherbrooke last Saturday afternoon while road tripping through Quebec and this little spot completely won me over. The barista took a few minutes to explain the difference between their house blend and a guest roast from a local roaster, which I really appreciated as someone who has no idea what they're doing with coffee. I had a maple latte and a slice of their almond croissant and both were fantastic, still warm and clearly made in house. It was busy but they had a cozy corner table free by the window, perfect for people watching on the main street while I planned the rest of my trip.

Maybe we just got a bad day or I’m unused to Canada and the culture. But it was an underwhelming experience with waiting staff that seem more interested in looking like they care as opposed to really caring about fellow humans.

I highly recommend this restaurant. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. Since the menu was only available in French at the time, the waiter translated it for us. He even mixed a custom cocktail for us. The food was absolutely delicious. The cocktails have a unique touch, but they are really, truly excellent. Anyone passing through or living in Sherbrooke definitely shouldn't miss this restaurant. We waited like 5 minutes for a table (without reservation)

Used to be my favourite restaurant in Sherbrooke. Went today after they reopened and was extremely disappointed with the service and employees. I arrived at 6:15 for a table of 5. I was waiting for 4 other people and was not even offered water or a drinks menu. The members of my party arrived 10 minutes after and we continued to wait for water and drink menus. I had to ask a walking by employee for these after 15 minutes of us waiting. We finally got our food at 8:48 two of our played were missing their sauces. Keep in mind we ordered drinks, entrees, and main dishes all at once at approximately 6:40. Also when we finally got our food, look at the size of my burger. I ordered the pepper jack for reference. Half of my bites we’re just burger buns. Honestly awful experience.
