Bonaparte is consistently a great experience. The service is always top notch and feels like such a luxury. My favorite dishes are the vanilla shrimp and scallops, the brie chicken entrée, and the profiteroles for dessert. They also have amazing French fries and cocktails.

If you want a truly memorable visit to Old Montréal, look no further. Forget the cab rides and parking hassles—let me help you plan a romantic weekend with the love of your life. Bonaparte Restaurant will transport you straight to France, and guess what? Hotel Bonaparte is right next door. How convenient. Bonus points if you love Édith Piaf softly setting the mood 🎶 Dinner was fantastic. Our waiter, Mark, was exceptional—friendly, attentive, and incredibly knowledgeable about wine. Instead of ordering a bottle, we chose wines by the glass to perfectly complement each course, and it was the right decision. I highly recommend booking a table by the window or near the fireplace. The décor is Paris chic, with elegant wall art and stunning chandeliers. And can we talk about the tablecloths? Why are there so few restaurants that use them anymore? They add such a timeless elegance. We started with a dry vodka martini and a Bloody Caesar, followed by lobster bisque and mushroom ravioli. And yes—they have a bread basket (always appreciated). For our mains, we enjoyed the duck and the beef bourguignon, and finished with a beautiful cheese platter. Merci for a wonderful weekend. XO A & M XO

Food was amazing, slow service, setting for a 12 person group was horrible. Great spot if you got 3 hrs to kill with significant other.

Wonderful experience catered by a professional staff, the menu although being very stable, has had a rework in how the plates are served. Some great discoveries with their new dishes, overall eating at this restaurant is a very pleasant experience. The setting is a quaint dining room in old Montreal, white aesthetics and quiet. Attention to detail is unique and precise, if you want to treat yourself and your loved ones I recommend the restaurant Bonaparte! In the area you will find the old port of Montreal, a theatre, group activities, on top of being great, it has amazing things around it

It is a very nice and cozy place in Old Montreal. Every morning, we were greeted with a basket of breakfast goodies, and it wasn’t the cheap stuff. The rooms were clean, and the bed was comfortable. The only downside was the cleaning service, which was available only upon request, and the floors didn’t seem particularly clean, likely due to their old parquet style. The staff were very pleasant and helpful. If you can get a good deal to stay here, I would definitely recommend it.

Excellent classic French resto … I just wish they would name after Louis XV who loved his people so that he entrenched French language rights for Quebec … while Bonaparte sold off the people of Louisiana “à la vache”

Good experience overall, however for the price, none of the dishes were impressive, some of them were either too sweet or missing salt. Service was great, and decor beautiful but the whole place smelled like seafood.

Restaurant Bonaparte is nice but unremarkable—nothing I ate was offensive, but nothing really impressed me. Cocktail options are fun, and the cream of mushroom soup was very good. The plating on the entrees seemed a little tacky and unrefined. The lamb was well cooked and had good texture, though lacked flavor to me, and the chicken with brie similarly tasted like… chicken and brie, and nothing else. The duck was pretty good though in a very sweet sauce. The desserts were standard, the chocolate mousse was a little disappointing as it didnt taste like they used real chocolate in it as opposed to powder, and was simply piped into a bowl. The interior ambiance is very nice, and the service was good. While I think the food here is good, I believe there are better options around both for flavor and presentation of dishes

Simply perfect. Every element of the meal with wine pairing was exceptional. One of the best meals I’ve had in my life!
