This place was an absolutely delight! Great date night location. The waiter was unconventionally lovely - super down to earth and helpful. The Bulgarian wine was awesome (private import) and very reasonable ($44 a litre). Food was great and huge portions - especially the appetizers. The desserts were phenomenal. Bulgarian cuisine is so underrated and this place was a nice reminder of Varna.

The evening at Sofia was a great one. It was like stepping in another time.. the ambiance, the calm, the music. The owner was really nice and welcoming. Not everything was perfect but we had a great evening. We will be back. Wishing the best to this little gem.

Fantastic food and friendly service on the terrace. Having been to Bulgaria before this food was really authentic and incredibly fresh and well presented. Great selection of drinks as well. Great atmosphere at this place, highly recommend!

A must go! Authentic and delicious bulgarian cuisine, beautifully arranged tables with fresh-cut flowers and candles. One of my favorite restaurants in Montréal.

Five stars are simply not enough ! This place transports you to a different time and place, with heavenly food that is made with care and meant to be savoured slowly plate by plate with your dinner companions, accompanied by a quality bottle of wine and quiet conversation. By far the best meal I have had in ages, brilliantly pleasing our motley crew of vegetarian and omnivorous kids and adults.

Possibly one of the best meals we have ever had. Came here for my boyfriend’s birthday who loves Balkan food and we truly enjoyed every dish. The banitsa and baked kashkaval were a highlight for us, but the meat platters that we had were delicious too. They also offered a free dessert since we were celebrating a birthday of fig mousse and wow, we both had never tasted something so unique and delicious. Beyond that, the service was fantastic and you can tell our server had a real passion about the food. The rakia selection was also great. The portions were very generous at a good price and we were disappointed to realize we had left our box at the restaurant when we got home. You don’t want to leave anything left on the plate, it’s that good. We will certainly be back!

Excellent food and service but it's not the place for a quick meal. Make sure you have a few hours ahead.

Had such a great time at this Balkan restaurant. (Felt just like home in Romania) The service was excellent and made the whole experience even better. Peter was amazing, super friendly, attentive, and always smiling. You can tell he truly cares about his guests. He definitely made our night. Would happily come back just for the service alone. (And the food) 10/10
