Wait for a table was long but worth the wait, food and service was great!

A delight for my taste buds. Did not plan a visit here but it was a quick decision after seeing the reviews. They took care of the 4 of us. Fed us and chatted up up. So happy with the food and spices. The sauce is amazing.
What a sweet spot!! It feels like you are having supper with family. Everyone enjoyed their meals, ranging from pasta to meat. They start you with a complementary salad of mixed greens and a yummy dressing. They don’t take reservations so keep that in mind but the service is fast and the food is delicious 😋
Wow! I've lived near this restaurant for years but never bothered to go in before today. Normally, I avoid Italian restaurants because I feel like I could just make the same thing at home, but this place was phenomenal. We split the calamari, a salad, and a gnocchi (I think) dish with mushrooms and Italian sausage. This may have been the best meal I've eaten in years: so flavorful, so delicious! The calamari was done just right, and the sauce on the pasta... we left saying wow over and over as we walked home. I wish they had a lunch menu because we were not prepared for the amount we ate. Fantastic!
The food was good, but the service completely ruined the evening. • Our group was rushed throughout the entire meal. • We were eventually asked to leave because people were waiting for a table. • Three other tables arrived within minutes of each other, yet our table was the only one singled out and asked to leave. When I politely asked why our group was being asked to go while the other tables were not, the waitress responded with a rude and dismissive attitude. It was unprofessional and honestly something I’ve never experienced before. Good food does not make up for poor treatment. Because of this experience, this restaurant will not be seeing me or my friends again.
Great food! Both the appetizers and the mains are amazing! Must try
Had an absolutely fantastic meal at Café Amerigo. Everything we ordered was so good. The food is comforting, flavorful, and clearly made with care. You can really taste the quality of the ingredients, and the portions are generous without feeling heavy. It’s the kind of place that feels authentic and unpretentious, yet delivers quality dishes that you’ll think about long after you leave. What really puts the experience over the top is the service. The staff are incredibly warm, attentive, and welcoming — the kind of hospitality that makes you feel like a regular even if it’s your first visit. That level of genuine friendliness is rare and it makes the whole meal even more enjoyable. The atmosphere is lively with that classic neighborhood café energy where everyone seems to be having a great time. Honestly, everything was so good that we’re already talking about planning another trip to Montreal just so we can eat here again. If you’re visiting the city, Café Amerigo is absolutely worth making time for.
Salad — 10 Spinach arancini — 7 Beef arancini — 7 Sauce average. Gnocchi — 10. Perfection. We waited almost an hour, but this made it worth it. The sauce was perfect, and the gnocchi was so good — I really felt it was homemade. It was soft and delicious. Only place I like gnocchi. The mushrooms were yummy as well, and I liked the different shapes of mushrooms. Paper dell — 7 lacks a little salt, I found. Felt like more meat than pasta, not really any sauce. The meat felt a little dry. The pasta shape was so great and felt very fresh. All in all, cute place — I’ll always be a fan. Good ambiance, service is good. Cute dim lighting, perfect for a dinner date with your boo or with your girls. I even waited around 40 minutes in the cold, but it was worth it for the gnocchi mushroom pasta.
Italian 'garde manger' is their bi line, and it fits well. Simple to the point Italian food and drink offerings done right. Relaxed, friendly and unpretentious. A definite keeper for me. Great place for lunch or dinner.
Food was excellent portions are generous But watch out if the waiter offers you bread it comes with a 4$ that you are not told about !!!!
the best italian food i've had in montreal omg
Every dish is amazing and fresh
great food good service. feels like home
One of the best places in Montreal with exceptional services Highly recommended
We had the best experience, the food was so worth it for the price, the service was AMAZING and the vibe was great as well. Pappi and Naira were there for us all the time, whenever we needed something they were THERE. I will absolutely come back
From the first course onward, the meal showed a clear sense of intention, favoring careful execution over unnecessary flair. We started generously—both a salad and the soup of the day, a comforting minestrone that tasted like my Nonna had made it. That was followed by the two arancini on offer, each distinct and delicious. For mains, restraint was not part of the plan. We were excited to hear about the off-menu item: crab-stuffed ravioli in a bisque-style sauce. It was rich without being overwhelming. The gorgonzola ravioli delivered a bold, deeply satisfying contrast. Both dishes wowed us thoroughly. Unapologetically indulgent. A crisp white wine tied everything together beautifully—though sharing the entire bottle between two people turned out to be more of a commitment than expected 😅🍷 Dessert was non-negotiable: tiramisu and cannolo, both because you can't leave without trying them 🤷♂️ The ambiance is inviting, the menu thoughtfully curated, and the service genuinely attentive. If it’s been on your list, consider this a gentle nudge to finally make the visit. But, bring your appetite because you will be seriously full after this 😜
Delicious food, cozy ambiance, and friendly service. A great spot—will definitely return.
Authentic Italian, wines that are not found anywhere in the city. A truly Italian experience in Montreal with a very humble home feeling. Recommended 100% 5 stats +++
I honestly love coming here to eat. The people that work here are amazing, The food is great and the atmosphere is good
The place gives a nice Italian buzz... But then comes a very mediocre service. And when you eventually disturb them for it after 40 minutes waiting for food, manager will come out ant tell you it's all your fault because of they didn't read through your body language that you needed food. Then he'llake a few quite inappropriate comments boarding familiarity and food will come - dry, because it was waiting for service way too long. Then you'll leave it on the plate telling it's not really nice, they'll just take it away and bring you a bill... Of course, not everyone's experience is the same but this was ours. Very disappointing.
So grateful to be living in a neighbourhood with the best Italian restaurant in the city. I go there once (sometimes twice) per week and each time I am shocked at how spectacular the food is. Such an amazing ambience and the owners/staff are wonderful people. Everything is always on point and hits the spot.
It was my first time and the food was great!
