A lovely place for breakfast or brunch! The food was delicious, with generous portions and a beautiful presentation. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, and the staff were friendly. A great spot to enjoy a relaxing meal with family or friends. Definitely worth a visit!

I come here every time I spend a weekend in Montreal and the service is usually what you'd expect and the food is plenty good. Unfortunately this time I was completely taken by surprise. Tipping is a voluntary gratuity and because of the quality of service I chose not to tip. Not only did my waitress try to strongarm me into tipping her she also stormed off mid interaction in a huff. It was incredibly unprofessional and honestly soured my experience.

When I walked in the richest was very polite, very nice and very gentle and respectful. And the place was spotless very clean and also the service was very quick. And also the witches was nice enough to check my balance on the gift card. I would recommend to pass by here

The service was fast, but unfortunately, the food was very disappointing. After our food was served, the staff barely came back to check on us. I rarely write reviews, but this experience was disappointing enough that I felt I had to share it. I ordered the Avocado Lox, and the smoked salmon did not seem fresh. It had a lot of white and brown pieces throughout it, which was very unappetizing. The guacamole was also extremely disappointing. It tasted like it had been sitting around for several days and tasted rancid. It’s obvious that the guacamole was store-bought and had been opened for quite some time. The taste was noticeably different from what I’ve had at other restaurants and even at another Ben & Florentine location. Overall, I was really disappointed with the quality and freshness of the food. I expected much better, especially considering my previous experiences at other locations.

Everything we had here, from the food to the drinks, was absolutely amazing, but what impressed us the most was Marie and her incredible hospitality! We had accidentally gotten the time wrong and realized our train was coming soon, so we told her we would have to give up and leave. Marie immediately said, “I’ll do my best to make it in two minutes! I don’t want you to have to give up!” 🥹 We were really in a hurry, though, so we ended up leaving — only to miss our train anyway! When we came back to the restaurant, Marie even treated us additional coffee and said, “I’ll keep track of the time for you so you don’t miss the next one.” And she actually did! When it was time to leave, she came over to us and said, “Girl, it’s time!” 😂❤️ Seriously, this was some of the best service and hospitality we’ve ever experienced. Everyone we met in Montreal was so kind, but Marie truly represents the warmth and kindness of this city! Thank you so much, Marie. You made our trip even more special. ❤️

I am very rarely someone that writes a negative review - I don’t think I’ve ever written one. But this was probably one of the poorest dining experiences I’ve ever had. I came with my 3 year old daughter . I asked to be seated in a booth so it’s easier for me to help her eat. Immediately I got a scoff saying they’ll have to clean a table. I ordered a hot chocolate and coffee to drink. I got the hot chocolate, had to ask for the coffee 3 times. I ordered the food and it took over 40 minutes to come. I had to follow up , the waitress was avoiding eye contact, it’s like she didn’t want to be flagged down. The food came and it was horrible. Normally I love this chain. I ordered eggs Benedict and the eggs were completely solid. Like a hard boiled egg . The waitress never checked on me, I had to call out to her to let her know. I asked for napkins, again I had to ask 3 times to get them. They offered to remake my food , but it took 40 minutes to arrive- I didn’t have the luxury of time to wait that long for my next plate. Luckily they gave me 50% off my plate ; but I was seriously beyond disappointed regardless.

I've been to Ben&Florentine several times now, at their downtown restaurant in MTL, and I've been very impressed by the food they serve and the service. The waitress is very attentive and careful to never miss a coffee refill or anything else. Considering the amount of coffee people drink in the morning, you can refill your coffee an unhealthy number of times for free. I also tried Cora Déjeuners, which is a similar type of breakfast restaurant nearby. Comparing the two, I would recommend Ben&Florentine. I find the food, portion sizes, and service to be a bit better at Ben&Florentine compared to Cora. If I were to rate both, I would give Ben & Florentine 5 stars and Cora 4.5 stars.

Wanted to treat myself to breakfast. Great service, decent selection and the food was good. It was delicious and the server was great. One minor thing would be the cleanliness of the bathroom but beyond that, incredible.

Delicious! I had the avocado Eggs Benedict, and it was amazing! the sauce was very tasty, and I also loved the avocado muffin. The potatoes were delicious too, then for something sweet, I had the chocolate banana crepes, and it was so good.. The place gets a little crowded, and the food can take a while to arrive, but it is totally understandable and definitely worth the wait. I would come back.

Good in both languages! Portions were large, and with a regional flair. I enjoyed the maple syrup skillet. It was loaded, and more than enough for my large appetite!

I arrived here maybe around 8:45 AM on Saturday for the long weekend in August. This place was really nice and stood out to me on Google Maps because it had really good reviews. The food looked really nice and it definitely delivered. I got seated within a minute of even getting into the place and the server was really nice. I came with a table of four people, and I ordered the salmon bagel with breakfast fruit, and breakfast potatoes. This is really nice because I don’t usually get much options for persons who do not eat egg so the salmon was a plus. My friend got the seasonal items with apple and peach toast with bacon and eggs. One got a French toast with eggs as well and these definitely look really good. I only took pictures of my food, but safe to say the other others also had a good experience as well. One thing I want to add is that when I came in I requested a table for four and the servers were really accommodating while my friends came in maybe a good 30 to 45 minutes after me. I appreciated that because by the time my friends came, it was really busy and I would assume that getting a table would be very hard. Overall experience, I would come again. 10/10 for Service, food and location!

The restaurant was very clean and tidy and very welcoming. The food was really great and good value. But the best part was the amazing service we got from Marie-Pier! She really went above and beyond when my partner mentioned gluten-free options, she helped with suggestions and made sure there wouldn’t be contamination. During the meal some ketchup spilled on my white shirt, she got a damp cloth and grabbed her own tide to go stick! She was so joyful, attentive and very pleasant. Got our day off on the right foot! Merci beaucoup Marie-Pier!

Friendly staff, and very accommodating. Food was absolutely delicious! We had a party of 5 and were seated very quickly. I ordered the Apple Crepes combo, and ate every bit of it. People in my party ordered the crispy French toast with chocolate, and the pancakes. All said it was delicious! Highly recommend this restaurant if traveling to Montreal!

As my group was about to depart Quebec after our 3 days stay, going to Ben & Florentine was the perfect goodbye to the beautiful city of Montreal! It is right by the Gare Centrale if you're travelling by Via Rail. Marie went above and beyond, she impressed us right away by how she remembered all of our orders without writing anything down! She ensured our experience was good and had us eating good, as well as took amazing photos of us to end off our trip the right way!

Great spot to grab breakfast at a reasonable price. They have an early bird time where you can save around $4.00 on breakfast. We each had the classic 2 egg breakfast that came with 2 eggs, choice of meat, pan fries, toast and apple sauce. The servers were friendly, and came back for drink refills more than once. The food was great.. I would eat here again!

I went there not too long ago to have a nice brunch and I got welcomed warmly by the host identified as Haley and a waitress who served me, Laurence. The food was great overall, service from the staff were great, but my main only concern and issue is the manager, Marie. From the distance, we could hear her yelling at her team with frustration and it disturb my peace and my girlfriend's. For instance, one of the runner accidentally dropped a glass or a mug and we could hear her yelling and yelling for over 5 minutes, FOR A SINGLE BROKEN MUG!! I tried to communicate with her regarding this matter but she completely ignored me and gave us a cold shoulder. I don't know how she can be the manager with those poor skills... Overall, it was great, but the manager is the main concern in this review. I'm not happy with how my experience turned into a bad one.

I am a DoorDash driver who picked up orders from Ben & Florentine Downtown on July 10. While waiting in the designated area near the corner for my orders, the manager (who identified herself as Marie) aggressively told me I was in the way and demanded I move to the stairs. I explained the stairs felt unsafe, but she continued raising her voice and insisted. I tried to de-escalate by saying I didn’t want to argue and waited quietly. Instead, she approached a nearby table of customers and began discussing me negatively, including comments about my helmet, which led to them joining in and making fun of me. This was highly unprofessional and made me feel harassed and unsafe as a small female delivery worker. I was visibly shaking from the stress. After getting my insulated bag and returning, I asked for her name. She apologized repeatedly once I was standing there upset. I responded that restaurant work is stressful but I just wanted to do my job peacefully. I also witnessed her speaking very rudely to one of her own employees earlier. As a delivery driver relying on these pickups, this experience was disappointing and made me concerned about returning. Management should ensure professional treatment of all staff and third-party workers.

A friend recommended this as her fave breakfast place, and now I know why. I headed to Ben & Florentine for a big breakfast since I had a walking tour after and went for their egg benedict plus a side of bacon. I've had eggs benedict before and I would say that these were the best ones I ever had. Plus free coffee refills and fruit on the side made it such a great meal! So what made me go back a 2nd time in my trip when my flight was cancelled was the service. Huge shoutout to Marie! She was very friendly, remembered me and my order and always took the time to check on me even though she had other waiting tables. We even talked about the airline that even Canadians avoided flying with. Great food and amazing friendly service! I'm a huge fan and would recommend this plac e to anyone!
