Regret stepping my foot in there, wasted my day of celebrating our 25 years wedding anniversary, not a place to recommend, we waited for 47 minutes for the waitress to take our drinks order and extra 22 minutes for food orders, the reason was "we are busy you came on the day,it is Saturday "but other table getting they order earlier befor us....very disappointed....
Reviews / Ratings for Bâton Rouge Grillhouse & Bar
March 7th My wife and I decided to go to Bâton Rouge Grillhouse & Bar because we didn’t feel like driving all the way into Montreal for a decent rib steak. Big mistake. The place wasn’t even busy, yet the service was already off from the start. Our waiter, “Steph” didn’t even bother introducing himself until I asked. Basic service 101. When you approach a table, you present yourself. What is this new trend of servers acting like they’re too good to do the bare minimum? He asked if we wanted tap or sparkling water. I said tap is fine with an iced tea and ordered a gin and club soda on the side. The drink shows up and it’s completely bare. No lemon, no lime, no garnish, nothing. Zero effort, zero presentation. And if you see a piece of lemon in the picture, that’s only because I had to ask for it myself. We ordered crab cakes as appetizers, and wow… the portion was laughably small. This isn’t some high-end fine dining spot where tiny plates are expected, it’s a steakhouse. On top of that, there was a napkin on the floor near our table that staff, including a manager in a dark grey blazer, kept walking past and ignoring for over an hour. Not a huge deal on its own, but details matter. This isn’t supposed to be some low-standard place. Then the rib steak came. I asked for medium. What I got was closer to rare. Unless you think I’m a Viking who eats raw meat, that’s unacceptable. To finish it off, the bartender clearly doesn’t know how to make a proper layered liquor coffee, even though it’s presented that way on the menu. The waiter tried to cover for it by saying, “it’s hard to make.” That’s not an excuse. It’s literally part of the job, just like cooking a steak properly. We also ordered the apple pecan dessert. I even told the waiter to warm it up in the oven, not because it’s complicated, but because the menu clearly shows it served in a cast iron dish, so obviously it’s not meant to come out of a microwave. Instead, it came out cold and hard as a rock, in this case he ignored and was lazy. And somehow, I still left a 20 pts, not because it was deserved, but to prove that money isn’t the issue here. This was just bad service, plain and simple. Normally I’d give a nice $2 tip at the end with passion but luckily for him I had elsewhere to go that night. Already, he rolled his eyes for the coffee liquor. If the owner is reading this, talk to your team. And I clearly said the owner not the manager who walked past a napkin. This was a complete lack of professionalism, attention to detail, and basic service standards.
Always good. Place of good memories
Excellent service 👌
I went to dinner with my daughter. The food was excellent, and the portions were generous. I’ll definitely return to try other dishes from the menu. The highlight for me was the cocktails and drinks—perfect for someone who loves fancy cocktails served in solid glasses, which this place offers.
How to start i havnt been in years went on the 24th of december to treat my couple to an amaxing dinner experience but was completely disapointed . Where to start had an entre of salmon tartar they barely toasted plain rye bread no seasonings what so ever and plated the plate with half tarnished cherry tomatoes and cucombers looked lile a kids plate plated with no love and avacado under tartar was not ripe and salmon verry little on top. 2nd plate i was so excited for the prime rib was not pink at all was probably reheated the au jus sauce was just brown water for a end bill of 156 dollars i was disapoint the weighter was nice and wine was good thats all i have to say
Ordered prime rib and I got crap! Just to let everyone know prime rib should not have grill marks. Gave it back and got a burger which was good.
