A wonderful dining experience with a fantastic atmosphere. The open-kitchen concept adds a great dynamic without being overly noisy, making it ideal for a cozy dinner. The labneh was a stellar appetizer, the pork main was cooked to perfection, and the baked Alaska offered a memorable finish. Everything was delicious—I'll definitely be back!

RECOMMEND 100%. Love this place…. Specializing in small plates and natural wine alongside beers and one of the city’s longest cider lists. combines a contemporary, seasonal French cuisine w/ Middle Eastern influences. Dishes highlight top-quality ingredients and imaginative combinations. Think: veal tartare with white anchovies and Arbequina olives, or duck sausage with foie gras, pistachios and turnips. Mussels might arrive with crosnes, daylily and sea asparagus. The vibe is cool, understated, buzzy Montréal neighbourhood spot. For drinks, they’re known for original cocktails and a strong natural/classic wine selection. the menu changes regularly. Had the tuna tartare with snap peas and it was one of the best tuna dishes I’ve had. The whitefish with beans and the whelks with eggplant also delicious. Great cocktails. Nice ambiance
The staff deserves more. It is ridiculously overpriced. Ordered two plates; which were okay. Typical pretentious Montreal restaurant. The staff and service was absolutely wonderful, and for that; it's worth checking ou, if you're on a date or something like that. I do recommend the Falafel as an entrée, and for a man I had the sea snails which were quite tasty. It's okay.
Absolutely impeccable experience from start to finish. We chose the tasting menu and wouldn’t have done it any other way!
We didn’t have the restaurant experience we hoped for. For good and fresh fish we prefer Ferreira Café downtown Montreal.
Bar St-Denis had a very cool ambience that is unique and unlike any other restaurant. Overall the food was great and the service was excellent. All our dishes tasted good but some worth commenting on: The halibut was by far my favourite dish, cooked to perfection. The velouté was phenomenal and complemented the halibut brilliantly. Even the zucchini was soft and perfectly cooked. Overall a very excellent dish! The duck was a close second. Although the meat was a bit tough, the skin of the duck had a nice crispiness to it even with all the sauce. The boletes and foie gras were also great to accompany the duck and both were delicious. The aged pork was the dish that was a bit disappointing. There were some pieces on the edge of the cut that were just too salty. I found that some parts of the pork were also undercooked with some blood running from the meat. The vegetables that came with the dish also seemed very random, almost as if they were leftover vegetables that needed to be used up. Otherwise, all appetizers were very delicious and the drinks were unique too!
Food was good, drinks were great, and the tasting menu is very well priced. Left completely full. Creative flavours with clever twists on familiar dishes, and the tuna tartare was the best I’ve ever had – not “best this year,” best full stop. Decor is beautiful. Only catch: concrete floors mean the sound bounces everywhere, so expect to raise your decibels. By dessert my table was basically performing theatre for each other. Bring your outside voice and enjoy.
Any dish that has me exclaiming, "how are these carrots?!" has to be pretty impressive. This place came as a recommendation from a tour we'd been on, as one of his top three in MTL. It was worth trusting him, and was a highlight of the trip. We shared three plates, and each one was more impressive than the last. Most surprising was how well my Filthy Animal martini paired with the first two. Pairing wine with food is one thing, but a paired cocktail is a special feat. The waitstaff were lovely humans who truly loved the food they were serving. This was a great find.
Lively open kitchen restaurant serving culinary arts! The service and staff were excellent from the front door to the kitchen! A must try in Montreal! Make a reservation!
the best espresso martini in town so far! service was really sweet and i loved the atmosphere sitting at the bar :)
I thought I’d booked a casual and easy meal for our first night in Montreal. Instead we had one of the best dinners in town, in a casually sexy atmosphere. Food and drink were each inventive and seasonal. Service was relaxed but comprehensive. Decor is unobtrusive but considered. This meal was delicious, and a lot of fun.
