Today was our third time taking out from Arthur's, and while the food is excellent, the disposition of the employees is off-putting. On the visits when I have gone in to grab the food I've said "Hi, I'm picking up please for __" and the man working the counter will say "How are YOU?" in a way that implies that I should have asked him how he was doing first. This has happened twice to me, and he won't make a move to hand the bag over until I answer. My husband also said the energy from the lady handing him out food was strange the one time he went in. I like the food, but I don't need the hassle or anybody's attitude, I don't care how viral your restaurant is.

Fantastic brunch spot!! The Latke Smorgasbord is a great option to have a little bit of everything. The standout however are the pancakes….i believe they are made with cottage cheese. They were unlike any other pancakes I have had before. Soft, fluffy and slight savoury, a perfect combo with the maple syrup.

Arthurs Nosh Bar is hands-down some of the best food in Montreal. From the moment you walk in, you’re completely captivated by the energy of the place. Everything feels effortless, welcoming, and a little bit magical — the kind of atmosphere that makes you instantly feel excited to be there. The staff were incredibly kind and attentive, which only made the experience better. But more than anything, the food was truly top-tier. The pancakes were next level, and every single detail on our plates felt thoughtful and perfectly done. My husband ordered the Grand Slam and he’s still talking about the fried chicken. Arthurs is the kind of place you leave already planning your next visit. Easily some of the best food in the city. And we of course bought their cookbook as a souvenir.

The food is incredible. The service is amazing. Honestly I love it there. Feels homey and really warm. Yes the place is small but that’s what makes it special. I would go back again and again. Pancakes are just wow! I still dream about them.

I was with someone, who recently sent a review explaining what happened, and I want to clarify the situation because your response changed the facts. We arrived as three out of the four people in our group. The fourth person arrived about 5 to 10 minutes later at most. However, we were refused a table because all four people were not present yet. Because of this rule, we lost our table and it was given to someone else, even though we could have easily ordered as three people while the fourth person ordered later upon arrival. Instead, we were told we would now have to wait 45 minutes for another table, even though we had arrived before the people who ended up getting our table. At that point, we decided it would be better to go find another restaurant. Since it was about –10°C outside, we briefly stood in the entrance just to look on our phones and decide where to go next. The waitress then came over and told us we were “loitering” and that we had to leave, even though there was no one waiting there and most people were either already inside or being told they would have to wait 45–50 minutes. Following that person review, your reply claimed that only two of the four of us had arrived and that we had been waiting 30 minutes for the next « 2 » others to arrive. Instead of apologizing, you changed the facts of what actually happened and lie. Because of this experience, I cannot recommend this place at all. The service was poor, the atmosphere was unpleasant, and it certainly did not feel like the customer mattered here. I would not recommend eating here

I’m sorry for this massive misunderstanding . I was trying to trust my staff when they retold me the story . If you are telling me that their version is untrue then I apologize .

I’ve been going to Arthur’s for years and it’s one of those places that always delivers. The food is consistently delicious, the atmosphere is welcoming, and you can really feel the heart behind the place. I’ve also known the owner for decades, and she is truly one of the hardest-working and most genuine people I know. She pours so much into her restaurant and it shows in every detail. Beyond that, she’s incredibly supportive of the people around her, always lifting up her peers and helping anyone she can. Places like this are special. Great food, great people, and a real sense of community. Highly recommend. 👌

Very disappointed with our experience at Arthur’s. We waited in line for quite a while and when a table finally became available, they refused to seat us because one person in our group hadn’t arrived yet. Our group was only four people and our friend was literally two minutes away, but instead of letting us sit down and wait, they gave the table to someone else. We then had to wait another 40 minutes for a table. To make things worse, the server told us we had to wait outside because it was a “fire hazard,” even though there was no longer anyone else waiting inside. It was freezing outside and the way it was handled felt very dismissive. The service was extremely unpleasant and the staff member we dealt with was quite rude. Overall it was a very frustrating experience and unfortunately we won’t be going back. There are so many great restaurants in Montreal with welcoming service, and I would definitely recommend choosing one of those instead.

Not sure there is point to reply , but my colleague explained to me what happened and unfortunately they followed protocol as you were only two people out of 4 and the rest of your party took 20-30 mi to arrive . She also said after she called and texted you multiple times to advise you a new table had freed up and you didn’t answer or reply . We tried our best to accommodate you . Unfortunately when you came back the restaurant had just been filled . We are grateful for all our clients and we know there are plenty of great spots to eat in mtl, I think this may have been a miscommunication I’m sorry you had unpleasant experience

I visited Arthur’s yesterday for lunch and noticed the service felt noticeably different from previous visits. Somewhere along the way the restaurant seems to have lost some of the warmth and hospitality it once had. What was even more concerning was seeing how a customer’s review was handled publicly on social media by the owner Regan Steinberg. After reading the original review carefully, it seemed like the customer was expressing hurt and feeling excluded rather than launching a personal attack. When someone feels the need to describe themselves as “clean, well dressed, educated, and respectful,” it suggests they felt the need to defend their dignity. Instead of responding with empathy, the public response by Regan Steinberg, the owner, felt dismissive and unnecessarily harsh toward the customer. It was a circus, calling on her friends to put 5 star reviews. When a guest raises a concern about feeling unwelcome, especially around issues of inclusion, it deserves thoughtful reflection, not public shaming, threats of "knowing who she is", and criticism. Restaurants inevitably receive feedback, both positive and negative. How leadership responds to that feedback says a lot about the VALUES of the establishment. A response grounded in humility and openness would have reflected much more positively on the business and the community it serves.

I have been to 2 Arthur’s locations multiple times.always yummy, always well served, I don’t know the owners, they have my complete respect - being in the service industry is tough (I grew up in this environment) and being judged by people who have no clue what it takes to run a successful business is insane. Those people need to try work for a living!

Always amazing. The staff, the food, the atmosphere!!! Everything is DELICIOUS! Regan and her team are so amazing. This has become a quintessential in Montreal and for so many reasons. Every time I have friends or family that come to visit in Montreal, we visit Arthur’s.

Arthur’s is hands-down my favorite breakfast/brunch spot — not just in Montreal, but in all of Canada. We have nothing like it in Toronto. Raegan and Alex have built a ridiculously delicious menu, and somehow everything is always perfect (I will never not be obsessed with the pancakes and the babka). I’ve been going for years and the quality hasn’t slipped for a second — truly 10/10 every time. It’s also just a fun place to be: warm, welcoming, and the kind of spot that works for any vibe. I love coming with my little kids, and I love it just as much for a casual day-date with friends. If you’re visiting Montreal, put Arthur’s at the top of your list.

Absolutely incredible team, space and meal. Even got to chat with one of the owners, so sweet and told us her favorites to order. Gonna check out their other place too before we leave Montreal.

I would love to write in response to a recent review made towards not the food -which is always top notch -but towards its owner Raegan Steinberg- the city’s most loved chef/woman/human. She does not need any defending for the mere fact that everyone who knows this woman- knows she is the most genuine, heart on her sleeve kind of person. The restaurant world is like a 24/7 tempestuous storm that chefs and owners stand strong in the face of daily push and pull. It’s a million balls juggling in the air at the same time all the while showing up and serving. That being said they are human too and perhaps can get pulled in another direction within seconds. Like popular hit chef series The Bear says ‘every second counts!’ So let’s take a beat and take inventory of the life of a restaurant owner and show some grace in place of character assassination. Let’s go directly to the person and reach out in place of this public form that can literally bring beloved restaurants to their knees based on hurtful words. Let’s make moments positive and take time to find solutions instead of rushing to the Google review to make hasty judgments. ♥️♥️♥️
