Literally stumbled into this tiny local pizzeria with a real 80's vibe over on Rue Belanger near Christophe Columb. Reggae, Heavy Rap and cutting UK punk tunes set the stage for some of the best pizza by the slice available anywhere in Montréal. No fancy tables and chandeliers here...Just repressed vintage school Cafeteria bench seating for perhaps 10 lucky patrons (look like they do a good amount of take out for a well informed local clientelle). Try Chef John's sublime ail champignon pizza or classic Pepperoni and cheese slice with a good dose of his amazing House made maple haven sauce. Slices $6 to $7 ?, 18" pies from $30. My.new favorite

you have to try it !
Some places serve food. Some places serve an experience. And then there are places like this. Where you’re not just eating, you’re stepping into someone’s soul. From the moment you walk in, you can feel it. The music isn’t random. The details aren’t accidental. The flavors aren’t just recipes. It feels like opening a door into the mind of the person behind it. You can taste the years of experimenting. The failures. The adjustments. The nights of trying again. The kind of dedication where mistakes aren’t endings, they’re ingredients. Where practice doesn’t just make perfect… it builds character. Every slice tells a story. Not just of technique, but of passion. Of someone who kept refining their craft until their “experiments” became their signature. You can feel that this isn’t just a business. It’s a living, breathing extension of who he is. I love finding places like this. Places with a pulse. Places built by someone brave enough to pour themselves into their work. That energy changes everything the food tastes deeper, the space feels warmer, the whole experience feels alive. This is the kind of business I want to see bloom. The kind that reminds us that when someone creates with heart, we don’t just consume, we connect. If you get the chance, support places like this. They’re rare. And they matter. 🍕✨ Thank you Johnny
Really great experience here. The owner, John, is incredibly welcoming and friendly, and even gave my 6 year old a tour . Very accommodating to dietary needs and many veg friendly options. Excellent pizza, thoughtful combinations, huge slices ( 5 per pizza! ). If you haven't been, go!
A perfect neighborhood slice
Even if this place wasn’t called 5 Pizza, I’d give it 5 stars. The crust has a perfect balance between thin and chewy; it’s sturdy enough to fold but still resists a bit when you take a bite, and it’s a delicious base for the perfect amount of topping: The pies are generous and plentiful, but never too weighed down. It’s the platonic ideal of pizza. It’s infinitely crushable, and I would offer to help my friends move for the promise of pizza from here after. Also the owner has excellent taste in music and offered my friend and I board games to play while we hung around, waiting to be hungry enough for more pizza. Excellent addition to the neighbourhood, I look forward to trying everything on the menu shortly.
Quite an awesome pie. They also sell slices and have a Hawaiian option which for some reason is impossible to find in this city. Will be back.
Love this place. Jon is amazing and his pizzas are delicious: simple and tasty and affordable. So much character and such a great addition to the neighbourhood.
Super calm place. Pizza was thin and crispy. Everything was as good as it could be. Lovely staff as well!
