Montreal is widely known for their vast Italian restaurants, some amazing and some just bad so how do you know what to look for?

Well, the first thing is check out this website for customers reviews and second, if a restaurant is in a hard to find spot, you know you just found a gem!

Yes, Di Lusso is one of those east end "old-school-hole-in-the-wall" italian places that i remember being taken to by my parents when i was a kid, actually reminds me of a small hall that i had my communion at...very cool!

Di Lusso doesnt get points for the decor and scenery (your in front of a metro!)but the close the blinds and all is forgotten as you feel like your back at your Italian's grandmothers house again where the food is fresh, and you get served like family...now how can it get better than that?

Menu changes all the time, so whatever the chef chooses & prepares in the morning is what is on the menu (usally 2-3 main course choices), and i was lucky...when i went in May, they had my favorite dish...lamb chop with penne to start off with....veal was cooked prefectly and just the right amount of salt and sauce. Alot of resturants drown a good lamb chop with sauce or glaze, just cook it well and leave it alone!! Penne was great too!

My friends had the Salmon, Veal and pasta as well and everyone enjoyed it just as much as me...absolutly no complaints except for the dessert (which i NEVER care for and would never change a rating for) Chocolate cake that was very dry and just not great...but it was in the table d'Hote so ill take it.

Desserts in most italian restaurants especially with a Table d'hote from my experience are usually not very good so it wasnt a big surprise!

Take note: Reservations are recommended because place is pretty small and they usually book big groups and they can take up alot space, so call first or if your around the area, take a chance and walk in!

Now that im at the end of my review, i must admit that i am starting to get REALLY hungry just thinking about my night at Di Lusso with their amazing food!!

Take my advice and most of the other reviews here that this place is a diamond in the rough that needs to discovered by all!!
