uch a great find! Really enjoyed our dinner at Yuukai Sushi. Nice vibe, delicious food, and really attentive, friendly service. We started with edamame and beef gyozas, then tried the chef’s specials, Mount Fuji and sushi pizza, both delicious. We finished with fresh salmon and tuna sushi and the Samurai Maki. Everything was fresh, delicious and full of flavour. Brought a great bottle of sake to enjoy with dinner. BYOB was a nice bonus.

This was one of the most disappointing dining experiences I’ve had. When we first arrived, we chose to sit on the patio since we had our dog with us. The waitress immediately came over and rudely said, “If another customer complains about your dog, we’ll have to ask you to leave.” There wasn’t even another customer on the patio for the next 30 minutes, so the comment felt unnecessary and unwelcoming. She also told us that we could bring and drink our own alcohol. However, after the meal, when we decided not to leave a tip because of the poor service, she came outside and confronted us. She then claimed that we were not allowed to drink hard liquor such as whisky, which directly contradicted what she had told us earlier. As for the food, it was extremely overpriced. We paid around $40 for just 11 pieces of sashimi, and the fish didn’t taste particularly fresh. The quality simply didn’t justify the price. When we chose not to leave a tip due to the overall experience, the waitress became even more confrontational. She insisted that paying a service charge or tip is mandatory everywhere in Canada, which is simply not true. Tipping is voluntary unless a gratuity has been clearly added to the bill in advance. Overall, the combination of rude service, inconsistent information, overpriced food, and poor quality made this a very disappointing experience. I would not recommend this restaurant and will definitely not be returning.

Always fresh, delicious especially the salmon exotique or honestly any salmon dish. Black cod is lovely too. Friendly service. Nice to bring our own wine

Their rolls are okay, the best thing to get are the sashimi and the nigiri. Wait time for each dish was very long approx. 15-20 mins for 2 nigiris. But overall very positive

Despite the good reviews, I found this restaurant to be mediocre at best. We had two entrees and Sushi for 2 and it was over 300 dollars with the tip. The Gyoza were store bought and frozen, I know because I buy the same ones, and the sushi although good was very expensive and rather limited in its variety. The specials are written on the wall and difficult to see depending on where you are sitting, and the regular menu is the shortest that I have ever seen in a sushi restaurant. The plus is that it is BYOW, which saved the bill from being 500...now the service. I feel a bit apprehensive about writting this, but it has to be mentionned. The young waiter, who appears to be the son of the owner, was not very professional in his manner and what was very offputting was that he liked to lean in close to talk to you, when the restaurant was not even loud, and rested his hand on my shoulder 4 times, even when I indicated that I did not like to be touched...what was worse, and this is the part I hesitated to write about, was that the young man had an obvious hygiene problem and his breath smelled so bad that we did not want to order more in terms of desert at the end of the meal.It was literally unbearable. He was very offputting to say the least. For the cost, the service the quality and scarcety of the menu, I unfortunately cannot recomend this restaurant, there are far better Sushi places in MontreaL.
