I visited this place because I read some reviews about how nice the poutine with the duck leg was. The duck leg was extremely salty, I couldn’t even finish it. The poutine used thicker fries so they ended up getting soggy quite quickly. Although the service and atmosphere were good, the duck poutine was mediocre.
Reviews / Ratings for Vallier Bistro
We were here on our first night in Montreal and were very tired from the flight. The server greeted us warmly and walked us through the Canadian menu. We highly recommend it.
Bistro Vallier is a chic French-style restaurant that blends elegance with comfort 🥩🧀 The menu ranges from rich onion soup and fresh tartares to perfectly cooked steaks and charcuterie boards to much more: all served in generous portions and beautifully prepared 🥂 Their cocktails are flavourful and crafted with care and creativity and pair perfectly with the food 🍮 Don’t skip dessert the menu, it features classic favourites, and their sweet endings are just as enjoyable as the rest of the meal
Sat at bar - just group of 2. Lively place and great drinks and food was excellent.
We stopped by while walking around and decided to sit outside! The outdoor seating was really pleasant, and even without a reservation, they were very welcoming and able to accommodate us. The service was friendly and attentive, though a bit on the slower side. The food wasn’t particularly standout or unique, but it was still good, perfect for a quick, cozy brunch. Overall, Vallier was a solid spot if you’re looking for a relaxed outdoor vibe and a comfortable place to unwind!
Very good food, great vibes, and honestly reasonably priced
Loved the experience! Food was so delicious especially the dessert 😋
Great atmosphere. Great service. Delicious Quebecois food.
Vallier is my casual go-to in the neighbourhood. Simple bistro menu that is well-executed. Salmon tartare is consistent, and on a recent Saturday afternoon I experienced an exceptional kir royale courtesy of William, the one-man show i.e. host/barista/bartender/restaurant server. The space is also noteworthy - bright and spacious. Date night, friends meet-up. A bistro for all seasons
An amazing space with spectacular food and a wonderful service. Thank you so much William, you were a great host!
Nice atmosphere, friendly staff delicious food
Paris bistro experience without flying across the Atlantic. Even our server was from France. Wish had more time to sample the menu but was under a time rush. Had steak tartare with salad - perfection. The toast points had the right amount of thinness and crunch. The fries could have been crisper. Finally, arrive before the lunch rush, if you don’t want to wait.
