What guests say about Tru India Les Vraies Saveurs de L'Inde
The food is generally very well liked, with tasty, well-seasoned dishes, generous portions, plus vegetarian options and clear spice levels. The service is often described as warm, attentive, and fast, and many customers find the place welcoming and pleasant. A few more negative reviews do mention delays, canceled orders, and, at times, inconsistent dishes. Overall, it’s a good option for well-liked Indian food in Montreal, especially if you’re looking for good value for money.
Reviews / Ratings for Tru India Les Vraies Saveurs de L'Inde
Terrible food quality and highly unprofessional staff. I ordered the tandoori chicken platter from Tru India (near Snowdon Metro), and it was an absolutely terrible experience. The chicken was smelly, hard, and completely lacked any flavor or taste. When we brought the food back to the counter to ask for a refund, the way they handled it was shocking. The serving staff member, Keerath, and the manager were both extremely rude. They made us wait for 45 minutes without a proper response. To make matters worse, it seems there are no real chefs in the back; the manager was the only person cooking. Throughout our wait, he showed a horrible attitude, was dismissive, and completely ignored our concerns.I strongly do not recommend this restaurant. The food quality is severely lacking, and the customer service is practically nonexistent.
I recently discovered this Indian restaurant which has truly amazingly tasty food. Being very strict on food and its quality, I may say that I will come again to have dinner.
Food was delicious and the server was very nice and attentive!
Amazing food, Nice staff, and clear spice options
Food was soo delicious nd service was also too good👌🏻👌🏻
Excellent food with great service! A lot of options for vegetarians, if you have low spice tolerance, mild is truly mild. We loved the colourful atmosphere, and were very happy with the student discount, as well as the complimentary appetizer from the chef. Will definitely come again!
They lady serving us was super kind. We got three different dishes, naan and and an appetizer. Legitimately nothing bad to say about the food in anyway. I loved it and it filled us all up with some to spare. We got it mild and it was perfect not spicy at all. You got to try this place.
Good place to eat , must visit
Very fast service , excellent food
I had a very disappointing experience at Tru India regarding their service speed. I entered the restaurant at 9:20 PM and placed a simple order for a Paneer Wrap by 9:25 PM. Despite the restaurant being nearly empty—they were only serving two other tables—I was still sitting there at 10:00 PM without my food. Waiting 35+ minutes for a single wrap when the kitchen isn't busy is unacceptable. The service is extraordinarily slow, and there seemed to be no sense of urgency from the staff. If you are looking for a quick meal or even a reasonably timed one, I would suggest looking elsewhere.
The food was disappointing but the service is good. The waitress is very sweet and hard working. But the food was not spiced well, didn’t taste good. We ordered the Rogan Josh, Palak Paneer, the Tandoori platter and Naans. The Rogan Josh looked good in other reviews but it was an orange almost sour gravy that we got. All the chicken in the tandoor platter was raw! Nothing was marinated either The palak paneer was a saving grace but despite asking for spicy, it was not salted well and barely spiced.
Tasty, fresh, clean. I really enjoyed it.
Friendly, good portions, excellent spices and strong delivery of results. Highly recommend.
excellent
LOVE THE LAMB DHANSAK BEST INDIAN FOOD IN MONTREAL
Thank you so much. It was good.
Ate the butter chicken, it was really good! Servers were also very sweet!
They take advanced orders and then have the great courtesy of cancelling orders in last moment. Not recommended at all, as they cancel without any reasoning.
Everything is perfect as always
Noor is a very good waitress. From the start to the end of this journey, she made the experience ten times more enjoyable with her energy and her care for our satisfaction. She made jokes and made the environment very comfortable and friendly. Would definitely recommend her and this place to others. 10/10
I had the Tandoori shrimp and it was delicious! Also the samosas tasted great. I would go back to this Indian restaurant.
A nice cozy place. Our server Noor was so sweet and kind. We had chicken 65 for appies and our main was lamb biryani paired with kingfisher beer.
Small Indian restaurant with quick service and good food. The veggies were fresh, the naans were soft and fluffy, and the curries had the right level of spice. The restaurant was fairly empty on a Sunday afternoon. Might be more popular for dinners. Overall cannot fault the experience.
I like the restaurent, in the inside was ambient and nicely designed. Also loved the food I recommend it😊
