Yesterday I had one of the worst experiences I’ve ever had at a place like Topla. I was working with Uber alongside my partner, and when we arrived, we immediately noticed there was only one person handling the entire place. When I gave him the order details, he told me it wasn’t even prepared yet and that he would start making it right then. We ended up waiting almost 30 minutes while more Uber drivers and customers kept coming in, many of them frustrated and asking about their delayed orders. The customer I was delivering to was understandably upset. I explained that the situation was not my fault, but due to the obvious lack of staff at the location. The worst part happened when my partner politely asked, “excuse me, is the order ready?” The employee reacted in a completely unacceptable way—he raised his voice, said he was “not Superman,” and told us that if we didn’t want to wait, we could just leave. That kind of reaction is not only unprofessional, it reflects a cowardly attitude and a deeply disrespectful, macho behavior toward women. No one should be spoken to that way, especially when they are being polite. I chose to stay calm and not escalate the situation, but honestly, the experience was terrible. It’s unbelievable that a business operates like this—understaffed and with employees who behave this way toward customers. This reflects very poor management and a serious issue in how staff are trained and treated. If they cannot handle the demand or provide respectful service, they should not be operating under these conditions. This was my first and last time going there. I do not recommend it at all. I have also reported the situation to Uber support, since experiences like this directly affect our work. Without a doubt, one of the worst customer service experiences I’ve had in Quebec.
