I did not have a good experience there, as every time I had to wait for someone to take my order, or wait for many minutes to ask for anything else. The food is excellent, but the service lacks quality.
Reviews / Ratings for Pork & Pickle
Updated from 1 star previously.. The staff has been changed and bald guys behind the bar are great dudes. I’ll wait for my plane there anytime.
The food is good and there is a good choice of drinks. Everyone is super. The reason I give a 3 is because the person at the reception (Daria) is not welcoming. No smile, no nice word etc. When I told her it would be nice to be welcomed with a smile, she looked at me as if she was ready to kill me. Really, choose a receptionist who is welcoming. I would fire her if I were the boss. Too bad my rating will affect the whole place.
I have ask earlier if the place accept voucher from delayed plane linked to my boarding pass and they ask me to order first. When im sitting down at the table they ask me to sit at counter since i don't plan to eat. When I ask for coffee first they shout at me and ask me to go to starbucks for coffee. As traveller who is not used to dining culture in Canada I was shocked and dissapointed. Rather than be patient with me and allow me to take some time to check the menu, they humiliate me and make me feel unwelcome.
I was pleasantly surprised with the food quality. I had a burger and poutine and it was better than expected. The service was excellent with our server ( France) going above and beyond to accommodate a few modifications. Desert was also very nice.
Another expensive airport restaurant! Good food and good service!!
Ribs was very salty and tasted more like salted cod. Very hard eat. Waiter did not check in on our table
Great pulled pork sandwich ,great staff very friendly. We go there every time we come through Montreal airport.
We had a fantastic experience at Pork & Pickle during our layover. The food was very good, the service was excellent, and the overall experience was easily 5 stars. The staff were friendly and attentive, making it a relaxing and enjoyable stop in the middle of a long travel day. With a 4 hour layover, this was the perfect place to sit back, enjoy a great meal, and pass the time comfortably. The bartender was happy to put the hockey game on for us and that was very much appreciated as it help pass the long layover. Highly recommend if you find yourself at the airport.
Good food, friendly staff, will be back.
They won’t just serve me coffee at 4:00am in an empty restaurant. I wanted to sit & possibly have more, but I was told I HAD to order food or not be served. Completely understandable if it was 6:00am and busy, but very disappointing when the resto has no business.
Pickle was flaccid. Brisket sandwich was stale. Poutine very sweet. Club soda smackin so was the service. Would eat if I had to.
Terrible service from our waiter (bald man with glasses and a beard with a little grey in it, didn't catch his name as he didn't spend enough time near us to read the nametag), and witnessed him be horribly rude towards a table and a booth. I know everyone has bad days, but the way he behaved was absolutely unacceptable. Shouldn't be in the service industry if that's how you talk to people, especially since the behavior was completely unprompted from what I witnessed. The hostess at the front however was very lovely. Unfortunately, we have no interest in ever eating here again during our travels.
If you are looking for a bite to eat at YUL then here at the Pork & Pickle, is a decent option.
I had a disappointing experience at this restaurant due to how I was treated. Shortly after being seated, I briefly answered a phone call and was about to switch off speaker when a staff member, Karine, at the register approached me and asked me to put headphones on, stating I was disturbing the restaurant. What made this interaction particularly upsetting was that a couple ahead of me had been on speakerphone as well and were not addressed in the same way. The difference in treatment felt unfair and, frankly, like I was being singled out. Afterward, the same staff member, Karine, kept staring at me from the register, which added to my discomfort and made it difficult to enjoy my visit. I believe all guests should be treated with consistency and respect. I hope the management takes this feedback seriously and works toward ensuring a more inclusive and equitable experience for everyone.
Food poisoning from their salad. Wouldn't recommend
I paid $30 for a cold grilled cheese and pork sandwich with a side of luke warm beans. Never again. How hard is it to make a grilled cheese to order?
Best sandwich in the airport
Extremely slow service for an airport restaurant. At least the food was delicious.
I would not encourage anyone to eat at any restaurant in YUL due to a mice infestation I witnessed while traveling through a couple of weeks ago. I saw about 20 mice in and around vending machines, waiting areas and eating establishments. It's been over two weeks since I emailed YUL about this and yet to receive a response. I feel bad for staff working in the restaurants it is not there fault. Do better Montreal. Gross!
Not sure how the food is and doesn't matter really because how terrible the people working there are. Went in to Asked if they can check if my airline issued voucher would work before I place an order, the employee just gave me a hand gesture to wait outside with a dirty look though I just went by the counter. Then she came and said I need to order first and when I asked what if it doesn't work, she said then you have to pay with card and simply walked away....again, simply walked away. Avoid this place if you don't want to lose faith in humanity, as a matter of fact avoid this airport at all cost. Not worth any of the hassle you will be going through.
This used to be a go to stop for food (especially meat, pulled pork, etc.) at Montreal Airport...and value/generous servings. Since my last visit, and like many places, they have fully adopted shrinkflation. Will find a more reasonable alternative. The two of us shared a very small pulled pork sandwich, a handful of sweet potato fries, 2 beers and 2 5oz glasses of wine and walked away $110 poorer, not including an 18% tip for our server who was very helpful.
Food was not bad, “pub” atmosphere. Staff were rude. I stand for optional tips, don’t expect me to come here for the second time. I left 10% tip, should have none.
when I ordered in English (i do speak French quite fluently), the server (bill says Annik, older heavyset woman with a curly blonde/orange bob) became very rude and cold. The food i ordered came out incorrect, she dropped my drink off with a straw in her hand but didn't leave it so I had ask another person for a straw. I asked for jam for the toast but watched her dilly dally around the restaurant for about 20 minutes before I told her to just forget about it. Was never asked for a drink refill or it i wanted another bar drink (which i did), but instead she just slammed my bill down on the table even though I wasn't finished buying things yet, and walked away without even acknowledging me. I understand that being a server is a difficult job, I've done it myself for over 20 years, but her attitude and mannerisms were VERY unprofessional
The food is okay and I probably would have left a better overall score- but the service is terrible. The hostess was super rude , my water glass was dirty, the waitress got the order wrong, and we asked for water 3 times .
