My husband and I arrived a bit early for dinner after reading so many great reviews and were really looking forward to our visit. Unfortunately, we left feeling disappointed. The steak was average and didn’t quite live up to our expectations for a steakhouse.

RSVP was easy by phone no hassle. Although they did seat us way back of the restaurant which was odd since the front area had open tables. I asked the hostess to change tables to two open tables and she said they were reserved … although all night they remained empty. I feel the dining tables out front looked very “white” and perhaps they wanted us minorities out of sight? That or perhaps they just didn’t want to bother changing tables . In any case we sat at the bar which reminded me of the old college days lol. Then at the bar a bit more awkwardness , barmaid got our waters but forgot to take our food orders. Her colleague had to step in admitting he wasn’t our waiter. I think perhaps the restaurant service operation wasn’t that fine tuned yet. It was a punkish rebellious type staff haha .., I felt that aggressive demeanor. Food was ok although took a bit of time. The tempo and ambiance was off kilter so maybe good to avoid in future.

I mentioned a dietary restriction to our waiter. After our initial order, he brought out the manager to consult in detail, uncovering an unexpected ingredient in the side I initially chose. This is a level of attention to detail I rarely encounter, and I really appreciate their extra effort to spare me a deeply unpleasant night. Top notch!

Visited The Keg Steakhouse + Bar - Place Ville Marie with fairly high expectations and left somewhat underwhelmed. The steak tartare was disappointing. It was overpowered by parsley and the portion was very small. The scallops with bacon were a decent size, but the quality of the scallops did not impress. The rib steak was good. On the positive side, the wine pricing was fair. I ordered a Barolo I know well and it was about double retail plus a small markup, which is reasonable for a restaurant. Service was excellent and easily the highlight of the evening. I would go back, but not in a hurry.

I went to The Keg Steakhouse in Montreal for my birthday dinner and absolutely loved both the food and drinks. It’s easily one of my favourite spots for celebrating special occasions. The portions were generous, and everything was flavourful and satisfying. The atmosphere felt warm and inviting, which made the whole experience even more enjoyable. It’s definitely on the pricier side, but for the quality, service, and overall experience, it’s completely worth it.

Our experience here was completely ruined by a waiter who was highly inappropriate and racist. He made us feel incredibly unwelcome right away by asking 'where are you from?' and explicitly stating, 'Toronto has more Indians and you might feel more comfortable there.' Unprompted, he continued to brag about his Master's in Economics in what felt like a clear attempt to talk down to us. He then claimed he could speak Hindi because he 'had an Indian roommate,' before proceeding to butcher the language, making the situation even more uncomfortable. It is incredibly disappointing to spend time and money traveling to Montreal only to be subjected to such blatant microaggressions. Management needs to address this behavior immediately.

Wait time was a little long in spite of having reservations however, we were grateful to have a friendly waiter who made sure we were pleased. The classic burger was very good and so was the Mac and cheese. I would recommend if you are a tourist visiting Montreal

Extremely amazing service. Food on point as almost always. The Keg isy go to whenever I'm in a place that has one I go. The steak was cooked to perfection, vegetables crispy but cooked and baked potato was well cooked and starter Caesar was excellent.

This picture is a 56 dollar steak that I was served. It was dark in the restaurant but to me it looked almost raw. I ordered medium well done. I took it to go and enjoyed the potatoes and mushrooms. I threw it out though as it just looked and tasted raw with NO salt or pepper. The drinks were great! Take a look!

Absolutely love this place. Make sure to reserve because it’s very popular. We have tried many of their steaks over time and we’ve loved every single one. Their service is always on point. Waiters super attentive. Their portions are very generous and the food is really tasty. Try the lobster it’s delicious!!

Our server, Yanik, was impeccable! Very well mannered, checked in at the right times and gave wonderful recommendations. Our food was perfectly timed. Will definitely be back!
