I recently visited The Keg downtown with my family to celebrate our birthdays. This time, the experience was a bit more mixed than my last visit, but it still ended on a very positive note. I ordered the prime rib medium rare, but when it first came out, it was unfortunately well done. I usually do not like mentioning when something is wrong, especially to the waiter, but since it is not a cheap restaurant, I felt it was fair to say something. To their credit, the staff handled it very kindly and replaced it for me without any issue. After that, everything was great. The rest of the evening was really enjoyable, and the service improved the experience a lot. Since we were celebrating birthdays, they brought out two cakes, which was such a nice touch. And I have to say, the moka ice cream cake was absolutely incredible. Honestly, it was so good that I would go back just for that alone. I seriously need to find out where they get that cake from because I want a whole one for myself. Overall, while the meal did not start off perfectly, the staff made the effort to fix it, and that made a big difference. The birthday celebration ended up being a great one, and that cake was unforgettable.

Prime Rib with Garlic Mashed potatoes was amazing. My 4 y/o ate his whole kid sirloin and my wife loved the pecan encrusted salmon.

I come here every year since 2015. The taste has definitely gone down. And the candy they give at the end of out last weeks visit looks like it has been bitten by someone.

We took an Impromptu trip to Montreal from upstate NY, and we loved every minute. I am very picky when it comes to steak, and was not disappointed. The twice baked potato was amazing as well. I do not eat calamari but my husband loved it. If you’re in the area, I reccomend this steak place.

We were a party of five, four adults and a child. We ordered a couple of items off the winter grill. T-Bone, and mushroom truffle sirloin, both were well received. At the Keg, I would add both the Double-booked potato and Escargot are a must. Server Angelo and the chef were great, helping to accommodate one person in our group who needed a low sodium meal, and nut free for three others. However, the young hostess who lead us to our table was anything but polite.

The server was not very helpful, i asked for mayo, never showed up. I had the new york steak with pepper and that had more pepper than steak, it was painful to eat it and the meat was not medium rare as asked. The tuna tartare was great and fresh.

Great place for allergies! My girlfriend’s severe egg allergies were greatly taken care of from the moment of our reservation. I left a note on the online reservation and when the waitress came to our table she was already aware of it. She checked with the kitchen staff and the manager on duty also came to explain everything to make us feel safe. Will definitely come here again next time we visit Montreal!

Excellent food. Service was really good even after our server had a large table seated in his section. We had the Tuna Tartare and the Calamari to start which were great and the 10oz Filet for our mains and they were cooked to perfection. One of us had the prime rib which was also cooked to perfection. Highly recommend!

Love this spot! They have a really good happy hour before 6pm, with a nice selection of cocktails and food. The bar section is really nice spot to sit as they have booths and feels very cozy. We came Friday night and were served by Greg who was super friendly and had some good suggestions. The wings were delicious. Will definitely be back soon.

Good service, decent food. We had made reservations for 4 on Valentine's Day. 2 adults, 2 kids. When we got there, they looked up our reservations and said it was at the bar, which is 18+ so that wasn't going to work. Fortunately, it was early, and Esteban found us another table in the restaurant after a few minutes. Initially they were a bit dismissive that the reservations were done on open table, and not directly with the restaurant - but the restaurant web site uses open table, so that felt a bit dumb. The food was good, as expected. The blender was broken, apparently, so no smoothie for the kids, and an order for Pineapple juice turned into an orange juice - I guess the bartender was having a bad day. Server was very nice and prompt and attentive. We got comped a nice piece of cake for the daughter's birthday. Overall a good experience.
