Great Quebecois spot 💙⚜️💙
What guests say about Terrasse St-Ambroise
Terrasse St-Ambroise is especially appreciated for its relaxed atmosphere, large patio, and location near the canal, with several comments highlighting a good selection of beers and ciders. The place is often seen as convenient and friendly for outings with friends or family, and several people mention that it is welcoming to children and dogs. As for the food and service, opinions are more mixed: some love the pizzas and burgers, but others find the food ordinary, sometimes overpriced, and the service can be inconsistent or without table service. Noise, crowds, and a few negative bar experiences also come up in the comments.

Great beer & pizza
One of my go to places in Mtl
The corn chips have flour so my ftiend had a reaction to them. Beware. Smash burgers and pizza ate the other choices. The bartenders are fine but there is no table service. A nice terrase for get togethers with friends, family and colleagues. Children are welcome. Close to the canal bikepath, so loads of cyclists.
Very happy. Thanks again!
Even though it is not my favorite beer, the location is amazing
Good bike stop for a quick beer 🍺
What a lovely place I found just around Oktoberfest!!! How lucky am I?! They host it with Munich vibes. PROST!
What a great spot for families to hang.
Every year around this time in September, the Austrian Society of Montreal hosts a Heuriger at Terrasse St-Ambroise. The food is typical bar food, hamburger, pizza, nachos, taco and it's all pretty tasty. I always get the Apricot beer as it is one of my favorites of all beer. The very nice lady at the boutique let me simple the whisky, which was also pretty tasty. I'm contemplating purchasing a bottle. I'll be back in 2 days for the Okterberfest hosted by the German Society and looking forward to the festive atmosphere. Just a great spot along the L'achète Canal.
Love this place. Great atmosphere, feel and location. Food is perhaps pricey for some but it is all about the vibe.
Very good atmosphere, good ambiance, cool service
Sweet spot for a nice summer day drinking with friends on a chill terasse
Best terrasse in Montreal !!! Must see
The best terrasse in Mtl! Good beers and is a beautiful place for enjoy the summer and free parking
Service has really gone downhill :( used to be a wonderful place but the staff is a huge disappointment. The place is also now exclusively frequented by super young kids? I guess they can get served alcohol easily and the staff doesn’t have to be pleasant. Really weird vibes.
A must hang out place on a sunny afternoon. Lots of people watching, great atmosphere, a brewery next to the canal with a large field for games and a great view of the pink house. Pub food - pizza and burgers with vege options. Spotted a salad. Avoid the red wine at all costs.
Anladım. Şöyle bir yorum yazabilirsin bence. “Every summer, I make it a point to come here and it never disappoints. The beer selection is fantastic, each one better than the last. The pizzas are truly outstanding—thin, crispy perfection with incredible flavor. And the view? Absolutely stunning. With the old factory in front and that little pink house sitting on top, it’s a true Montreal landmark. Highly recommended for great food, relaxed vibes, and an unbeatable terrace✨✨🍀🍻
Excellent place to meet friends
Great atmosphere
Insanely busy but beautiful location busy Place lots of places to sit and enjoy your beer and a pizza
Perfect spot for post-bike beers and dinner with the kiddos. We took the path past the brewery, then turned around on one of the bridges and came back for a landing. Plenty of bike racks to lock to and plenty of seating. Can't speak to parking because the car was a ways away
I usually bike on the canal, first time stopping at this place and i was impressed. great place to enjoy a drink and view of the canal. good selection of snacks too, relaxed atmosphere.
Full disclosure, even though I am from the western side of Canada, this is one of my favourite breweries. The substandard score for service is only because there really is no service. We went up to the bar and got our own food, went up to the bar and got our own beers. Bartenders were great, cordial, willing to conversable English and French. They were even Brewing the day we were here, so the smell is sweet wort was everywhere. Anyway, on to the product. The beers were, at the very worst, very good. Some exceptional standouts, and definitely some of the best we've had to this trip. The pizza, although a little pricey at $20 for a 10-in round, was very well done. The crust was excellent, and the quality of toppings was Superior. The sun was shining, the beer was flowing, and the patio filled up incredibly quickly after 5:30 for a Tuesday. Lots of great energy, music running in the background, and the only downside was at the bathrooms needed attention.
Absolutely loved the beer. It's noisy, full of people, music, and open air atmosphere makes it loads of fun. Its a big place and seems always full. Pick a nice day and go, just remember it's outdoors. Did I mention the beer is great?
