Just stumbled on this place on the way back from a hike with our toddler and dog. Wow. Incredible pies just polished off for lunch. Everyone happy. Will be returning. Thank you!
Stopped by Ta Pies and was seriously impressed. The crust is perfectly flaky and the fillings are super flavorful—I tried the butter chicken pie and it was amazing. Great spot for a quick, satisfying meal. Definitely coming back!
Pictures of the menu are no longer accurate! They have the original prices blocked out, and two different and more expensive sets of prices in the glass displays (turns out it's actually the more expensive set). The picture shows the real prices. Other than that, the service is beyond perfect. Waiting 10 minutes for my pies to be heated up turned into over 20. And, I agree with others, there was probably a change in management. It seems like a place that lost its spark. The pies themselves were not bad. They tasted like comfort food, but the small individual portions and the overbearing amount of crust doesn't make me desperate to go back.
Ta Pies offers the Australian and New Zealand national dish of meat pies! This place is Hugh Jackman’s favourite place for meat pies in Montreal! I got the butter chicken pie and an Australian drink made with Sprite. It tasted decent.
What was once a lovely little shop with outstanding food has been sold and turned into a complete mess. It's a bummer. I wrote one of the first reviews of this shop and for a while it was even hung on the wall. They've lowered the quality of the ingredients, everything tastes awful. Just an absolute clusterbiff. Recommend avoiding. Just not worth the money. At all.
Ordered in Ta Pies through DoorDash for a cozy night in. They arrived hot and so so delicious! Serving size was perfect for me, not too big and not too small. I tried the classic ground beef.
The best pies with Indian flavor and of course the one with steak.

I was there yesterday after a door dash shift , and the young man who was working greeted me with biggest smile, i had the mishroom cheese pie as well as the butter chicken pie , the poes were out of this world, the pastry was awesome and its like nothing youve ever had. If you are on parc ave and looking for a very satisfying meat or vege pie, do yourselves a favor and go there. I will definitely be going back.
Amazing experience overall! The service was great and the food was honestly so good. I tried the ricotta option and it was definitely my favorite. The dough is perfectly flaky and hits the spot — everything tasted so fresh and flavorful. I would 100% recommend and will for sure be coming back!
Used to be good. Now it isn’t. New owners replied with a statement defending themselves for poor quality and messed up orders and changes in how things are done is somehow my fault because it was “busy”. Stock Selection is reduced, I can’t get our favourite flavour of Mince Beef, cheese & Bacon. Not “Classic…” I never mentioned the word classic. The gravy HAS changed, it’s thin, simple and brown just like the powered stuff. The original gravy was based off of the pie filling and was thick, slightly grainy from the tomato’s and herbs and was real. They now put all the side dishes in a slop of one pot so the Peas, Mash and Gravy are all mixed up. I’ve never ordered like this. I would always ask for “A Stack” and I would be asked how many and would say “3” and I would get 3 individual small tubs of gravy, 3 of Mash Potatoes and 3 of Mushy Peas. I’ve discovered a better recipe online and will now continue to make a home version of something that used to be a quality treat is no more. Also they stopped doing all the nice UK/OZ/NZ imported snacks and sweets. Sad to see a great business fail under new owners.

See you soon 🤩 Fyi, small counter space to eat a pie but mostly for takeout. They have desserts and frozen pies to take home individual or a full size pie. A must try!
Butter chicken definitely taste more spicy than what it before, before was more savory sweet The beef mushroom was lacking beef and mushroom , still taste nice though Some has definitely change up here I'd still purchase their pies on occasion. Nice that they are on uber eats
