I ordered pickup. The pan fried noodles with chicken and vegetables were almost fully uncooked and crispy. I don’t know if this is style but it wasn’t enjoyable. An advisory on the menu would be appreciated.The sweet and sour pork, beef with broccoli, and spring roles were standard and fine.

Amazing food, excellent quality, and a truly special family-run restaurant. Everything is fresh and flavorful, and you leave feeling satisfied without feeling heavy or bloated. Miss Ma is an incredible host - warm, caring, and genuinely focused on making sure you have the best experience possible. You can really feel the love and passion behind this place. Highly recommend Szechuan by Mr. Ma. A definite must-try!

Amazing Food! Best chicken General Tao ever! Very high quality of Food! Very warm welcome from Mr. and Mrs Ma! Me and my dad were so happy ! The same amazing Food as 15 years ago when we were going at Mr. Ma at Place Ville-Marie ❤️! Will order with Uber Eats soon!! I strongly recommend !

Sadly would not recommend. And not sure how the reviews are what they are… Really mid food, dank vibes, and ok service. Was very disappointed with pretty much every dish we ordered. In such a good food city, this is a place to skip.

Had read a lot about this restaurant on social media - but reservations can apparently only be made by calling them or sending a Facebook message. Hostess was rude and hostile, and refused to accommodate even though they had a place for two which they could have extended to 3 as an exception. Instead of being greeted with warm hospitality, we were met with a curt hostess - this restaurant definitely did not hit the mark before even stepping in to eat. Do not recommend just for the service.

Hands down the best chinese food I have ever had in Montréal. The owner was lovely and recommended a lot of delicious dishes, which we all loved. My favorite was the orange beef, so good! Will definitely be back.

This is the best restaurant i’ve visited in Montreal. The atmosphere was very nice, calm and quiet. The service was great, the servers were both very quick and very nice. They seemed to genuinely care about their customers and did their best to make our experience better. The food also came quick, we barely had to wait at all. The food was amazing and the portions were big. We had the mongolian beef, the general tao chicken, the crispy ginger chicken, the pepper chicken with spinach, and the fried rice. All dishes were great! Highly recommended

My family and I came to this restaurant expecting a pleasant dining experience and only wanted to order some soup and appetizers. Instead, we were told there was a mandatory minimum spend of $35 per person, which was absolutely ridiculous and never mentioned beforehand. Rather than feeling welcomed, we felt pressured to spend more money just to stay. The staff were unaccommodating, and the whole experience left a terrible impression on us. We were so disappointed and uncomfortable that we decided to leave without ordering anything. Definitely not a place I would recommend.

I’m visiting Montreal and decided to try Szechuan par Mr Na, and honestly, I regret even walking in. First off, they hit us with a minimum $35 per person rule — which would’ve been fine if the place actually delivered anything close to that value. But before we could even properly order or settle in, we were basically rushed and then straight-up asked to leave. Like… what? The whole vibe felt unwelcoming and borderline hostile, like they didn’t want customers unless you were there to drop cash immediately without question. No effort to explain, no courtesy, just attitude. For a restaurant that sets expectations that high, you’d think they’d at least treat guests with basic respect. Instead, it felt like we were an inconvenience for showing up. Montreal has so many great food spots — this is definitely not one of them. Avoid.

Delivery: Really enjoyed my lamb with cumin but at 40, it was pretty overpriced. The peanut butter dumplings were good dumplings but the sauce was just okay, kinda salty. My friend enjoyed her General Tao combo.

What a treat. From the dumplings to the shrimp toasts to the Mongolian orange beef- everything was delicious. Add to that a nice ambiance and fabulous staff- 10/10 experience and would definitely recommend (especially for groups because you can share more dishes). Thank you very much!

I came to this restaurant with my family to have a nice dinner to start 2026 on a positive note. The food took a long time to arrive. The fried rice was very average, the crispy noodles were drenched in oil and the seafood was not evenly cooked. We asked for a beef with vegetables, the meat was not cooked and it was very hard. I was very disappointed because I had been there in the past and the food was much better.
