Don't listen to these bad reviews. People are impatient and rude. The service was great. Was greeted and shown where to order and what was viral. Food was ready in an hour. Very worth it... 25$ max for the best sushi burrito I've ever had?? Yes please. I will be back just for this meal.

Terrible experience ! Drove all the way from Ottawa to try this place out after finding out about it on social media. No greeting when you first step inside as if you are a nuisance. Very unwelcoming staff that take several minutes before even approaching to take your order and 30 minutes wait time to finally get the food just for it to be okay at best. Attracting new customers via viral social media posts is one things but to keep them and have them coming back for more requires at least decent service from staff. Very disappointed and certainly won’t be coming back !

It takes about 3 minutes to prepare and 5 minutes to fry, with one fryer running continuously. During peak hours, we often have 40–50 customers waiting, which naturally brings wait times to 30–60 minutes. We’re not a fast-food chain — we’re a high-demand artisanal sushi concept in Gatineau, and that’s exactly why people line up from Ottawa, Montreal, and beyond. We focus on keeping orders moving efficiently for everyone in line. That said, we hear your comment about the welcome and will keep improving that balance as we grow. Waited almost 2 hours. No one told us it would take that long. Food wasn’t worth the wait. You get a bigger and better quality sushi burrito at mj poke and roll. And it only takes 20 min at the most.

stopped by after lunch and ended up waiting about 35–40 minutes while they were doing a full clean — honestly, it was 100% worth it. You can tell they take cleanliness seriously, even the bathroom was spotless, which says a lot. The sushi was super fresh, made to order, and full of flavour. Definitely some of the best sushi in Gatineau I’ve had. Portions were generous and everything tasted high quality. The staff was also very friendly and welcoming, which made the whole experience even better. If you’re looking for fresh sushi near Ottawa, this place is absolutely worth the wait. I’ll definitely be back!

Slow wait times, not prepped at open. Owners seemed more focused on marketing then serving actual customers. Rude lady at counter that gets frustrated easily. Not a fan of edible glitter on sushi either. Don’t waste your 45 mins for a poor tasting sushi burrito, tastes off with the salmon cooked inside. In response to the owner’s response to my review: His AI generated response wasn’t really responsive but more so a deflection so I will clarify further. Being prepped at open does not equal pre-made. It means having your kitchen prepared for open. We were told they were “Not ready” to take orders at open. And had to wait 45 minutes for our sushi burrito. And as someone who enjoys sushi, me and my partner were dissatisfied with the odd flavour of cooked salmon (which is not a typical ingredient in sushi). And is a noteworthy off putting taste. This is why I cannot recommend it, it’s poor taste, bad service and lack of awareness towards customers. In addition, there is no lack of respect towards the team. Just expecting general respect to paying customers and some self awareness/accountability to handle criticism and improve upon your service and products.

We’ll be direct — we are a small family-run pop-up, not a mass-production restaurant. Nothing is pre-made sitting around at opening, everything is prepared fresh, which means wait times are normal. If you’re expecting instant service, we’re simply not that concept. Saying we focus more on marketing than customers is inaccurate — the demand we get is exactly why there are waits. As for the service, we’ll review that internally, but we also expect basic patience and respect toward a small team working under pressure. Regarding the food: cooked salmon, sushi burritos, and creative elements like edible glitter are clearly part of our menu. It’s fine if it’s not your taste, but that doesn’t make it “off” — it just means it’s not for you. We stand by what we do. — Sushiyana Team

Such a bad experience. Went for the viral sushi burrito and ended up waiting 45 minutes for 1 burrito. We got there right at open (3pm) and were told that they were not set up yet. The people we spoke with were so rude and impatient to deal with customers. We got the tuna & salmon burrito which came with no tuna and overcooked salmon from being in the fryer too long.

Wow! I am absolutely blown away by this spot. It’s a total hidden gem that you might almost miss if you aren't looking for it, but the quality of the food is next-level. Honestly, this sushi belongs in a high-end, fancy restaurant! The presentation was beautiful, and the fish was incredibly fresh and flavorful. Every bite was better than the last. I’m already counting down the days until I can come back. If you’re a fan of great sushi, you have to check this place out—I really can’t recommend it enough! Simply incredible! I can not recommend this restaurant enough. Their sushi tastes fresh, and the sauces give them a kick to the next level. I ordered the crunchy burrito, something my friend and I saw online, and let me tell you, it did not disappoint!! We split it and ordered a roll on the side, but the burrito was enough to fill us up. Truly, do yourself a favour and try it out!! Burrito review: Crunch: 10/10 Flavours: 9.5/10 (i don‘t love tuna) Sauces: 10/10 i‘m not sure what i got, but i know i loved it

The most skillful execution of a Japanese classic with a Korean twist you will ever experience. Sushi is a personal favorite of mine but after having it here it has made me doubt whether I've ever even had sushi before or just a sad excuse for it. You can have things done fast , or you can have them done right, this restaurant has chosen the latter, and I appreciate that. Each piece is a work of art, the difference between a cook and a chef is put on display. The difference between good and excellent is small, but the difference between excellent and great or even perfect is immense, the food borders on greatness.

Use to be good but now prices went through the roof and portion of fish in the rolls are down...9$ for 4 bites of wakame salad, you got to be kidding me. 100$ for 2 of us its ridiculous. Use to order there all the time...not anymore just a shame.

Golden crunch Burrito 🌯 not worth the hype ! Should be named carrot and imitation crab Burrito (only Négligeable amounts of tuna,avocado,salmon ) p.s There is something inherently wrong about warm sushi 🙅‍♂️ on a positive note seems like a well run , clean , organized establishment. The yuzu cheesecake was great. I will go back to try the poke bowls and will revisit my rating afterwards if applicable.
