Excellent service
My husband placed a DoorDash order for pickup an hour before closing. It was ready, and we arrived promptly. Upon arrival, the staff seemed to be having a casual get-together with drinks while they were cleaning. This wasn’t a problem. The issue was that they were so engrossed in their gathering that no one noticed I was waiting at the front. They had all gathered at the back of the shop, behind a wall, to chat and laugh. Once they noticed me, they served me. I showed them the order screenshot. They asked me to confirm it through the app. Since the order was placed on my husband’s phone, which he was waiting in the car with, I had asked him to confirm it and send me a screenshot. When I showed it to the staff, she insisted on seeing the order in the app. I went to get my husband’s phone and showed her the same view as the screenshot. She said it wasn’t what she wanted and that I needed to show her the order again. I showed her me navigating to the DoorDash app’s homepage, going to my order history, and clicking the order, which (for the third time) showed the same view as the screenshot. I understand businesses want to protect themselves from food theft, but it was 30 minutes to closing, and they already seemed to have no other orders. Given that they had the business app and my husband had confirmed the pickup through his app, they should have seen that the order had been confirmed for pickup. The food was okay, but I won’t be returning. I didn’t realize we needed a background check and three different forms of pickup proof to get the food we ordered. The purpose of ordering in advance for pickup is to be able to run in and out quickly. Instead, I was interrogated as if I was robbing a bank.

We should have read the reviews before even attempting to order. But our experience was short-lived since we didn’t even get to order because of the rude, disrespectful and dismissive attitude of the man behind the counter. Despite the young lady trying to help us order a plant based meal, which is simple and easy with sushi, like avocado, cucumber, sweet potato, tofu and/or other veggies, the man dismisses us without even looking at us, with a wave of the hand, saying “we have nothing vegan here.” Which is completely misguided. It’s 2026, it’s time to evolve and AT THE VERY LEAST, offer cruelty free options that aren’t destroying our oceans! Dismissing clients for wanting simple options is just poor business!
