Really enjoyed our food. Service was great even on a busy weekend. Friendly staff.
What guests say about Sunny's Dinette
Sunny’s Dinette seems to be a good choice for brunch or lunch, with several reviews highlighting a warm atmosphere, cozy decor, and often friendly service. Many customers love the breakfasts, eggs Benny, lattes, and some of the varied menu options, but others find that some dishes are small, sometimes bland, or too expensive for the portion size. The experience can also vary depending on how busy it is, with longer waits and less consistent service at certain times.

Both servers were very friendly, the food was great. It was pretty busy on weekends so be aware
This was my first time at Sunny’s Dinette and it was just amazing, I orders a croissant sandwich with cube fries and it was heaven, the croissant sandwich tasted so nice with the ham and cheese it was beautiful. The service was great, the staff were very friendly and professional. The atmosphere was good there were people chatting around you bust it was still easy to chat with my family so it was very pleasant. I do highly recommend Sunny’s Dinette and will develop coming back in the future. Hopefully next year
I’ve been to Sunny’s Dinette twice now, and both experiences were great. The first time, I ordered the ham eggs Benedict, which was delicious. My friend’s croissant sandwich was equally tasty. We sat at the counter, which gave us the chance to watch the chef cooking with real skill and attention to plating — he’s genuinely impressive to watch. The service is definitely above average for Montreal, especially considering the area where the restaurant is located. The second time, I went with a bigger group and we were treated just as well. I ordered the eggs Benedict with shredded beef, which was also excellent. During our visit, the owner noticed I was filming content about the brunch and kindly offered my meal as a complimentary courtesy from the house. Highly recommend it, and I’ll definitely be coming back again.
We were completely ignored by the waitresses upon arriving, without even an acknowledgment of our presence which felt very odd. The food was good but we also had to sit directly next to another couple on the same table so it felt very cramped and awkward. A bit of a miss for me.
I love me some Sunny’s dinette ! The place is so cozy and chill , the staff are super nice with always a smile on their face . The food is FRESHHH and healthy , I love the variety in their menu . I also loved the latte with the cute hearts 😍 It was my first time there but I’m definitely coming back !! So excited to try other items on the menu .
Nice place and quick service
My friend treated me to birthday brunch here and I loved it. Definitely recommend their french toast if you have a sweet tooth. It feels like a vintage escape from the world.
We paid over $60 for two coffees and two eggs benedict. The coffees were good, but the eggs benedict were terrible. For that price, I expected better quality and more generous portions. There was barely any hollandaise sauce on the eggs. So little that I could hardly taste it, which makes me doubt it was homemade. The dish also came with a salad, but the dressing was all pooled at the bottom, so I had to mix it myself. The fries were pretty good. The service was also not great. The staff seemed confused and super nervous for some reason. I'm not sure why our experience was so different from the other reviews here. Maybe someone was in training, but overall, it was disappointing. For how much we paid, I'd rather go get a full meal instead of 4 poached eggs for $60. Ridiculous.
We are from Toronto. The atmosphere is different, but we liked it. The food took about 30 minutes but it might of been the best breakfast we've ever had. I had the belt and my friend had the creamcheese bagel. The chef and waitress were sweet as well. Highly recommended.
I hate how they kick you out after 1:30-1:45 of eating. It leaves a bad taste in my mouth every time.
We tried Sunny’s Dinette. Cappuccinos were great, perfection! I had the Croiwich which is basically a breakfast sandwich in a croissant. The sausage was really good but the croissant was hard; overall the sandwich was bland, and so were the potatoes. My friend took the egg Benedict which were good. Also can restaurants get decent hot sauce, Tabasco sauce is not hot sauce. Ok spot with great coffee
Incredible service and extremely accommodating staff. Little gem in the St-Henri neighbourhood!
Sunny’s Dinette offered a unique and welcoming brunch experience. My partner and I decided to try something new and stumbled upon Sunny’s online. The menu boasted a great variety that catered to both our tastes, so we decided to give it a shot. From the moment we walked in, the warmth of the servers made us feel right at home. It’s a cozy spot where you can see the chef expertly managing the entire kitchen solo, which is quite impressive. I enjoyed the steak and eggs, while my girlfriend had the eggs Benedict. The food was delicious, though the portions were on the smaller side, and the prices leaned a bit higher. Despite this, the exceptional hospitality and homely atmosphere made up for it. Overall, Sunny’s Dinette strikes a nice balance between a friendly environment and good food. It’s a great spot if you’re looking for a cozy brunch with a personal touch.
Food was decent but service was very bad. The owner completely ignored me because I was not fluent in French and only spoke to my friend who was fluent in French. Tables and chairs were very uncomfortable. Too small of a space. Don’t recommend.
Mid ahh food
Great service very friendly, great food, lots of options on the menu.
Lovely and cozy spot. Food arrived as expected and service was timely. Brunette server was very pleasant and helpful. Great spot for brunch! Will definitely be coming back!
The place is nice, good people with smile on the face and polite attitude . But when it comes to a professional server they are missing that. There is a lady server who doesn’t clear things while taking the order. 1. Like we talked about having fries instead of home potatoes but she still charged us with the fries. It’s not about 4$ it’s about the role a server plays in what we eat. 2. Another thing we noticed was small two half cut triangle toast pieces. Cant even call it a single toast that we got in our classic breakfast. 3. The coffee wasn’t served and we had to ask for it after the order as we were waiting for the food. The coffee was only served once and no one bothered to ask for a refill. Thats not a Dinette feeling at all. Still tipped them full, as dont want to take this as a excuse to not tip (is what is assumed these days if you dont tip) Please improve!
I’ll definitely come back here the service and food is great!
The food at Sunny’s Dinette was honestly 5 starreally delicious and well done. However, the service and atmosphere didn’t quite match the quality of the food. Service felt average and the overall vibe could use some improvement. Great place for the food itself, but the experience could be better.
I wouldn’t recommend. I found the food bland and expensive for what it is. 20$ for plain pancakes is a bit sad
Everyone who works here is so kind and joyful! Delicious breakfast (especially the eggs benny) and lattes. Some good veggie options too. Totally recommend!
Best parts of a traditional diner with a modern vibe. Service was friendly and accommodating.
At first glance the place is really beautiful! Upon receiving the menu, the options were quite lackluster. I ordered coffee and it tasted quite weird and probably was one of the worse ive ever had. After ordering we had to wait 45 mins. When the food arrived they were small portions and it did not look appetizing. My food was really disgusting. It was bland and i would get bites of only meat sometimes that i had to drench it in ketchup to make it edible. The potatoes literally tasted like cleaning products which threw me off. The atmosphere is nice but the food is a major turn off and i do not recommend especially for the price.
