I personally really enjoyed my fish (linguini scampi). It was rich and creamy and the scampi was fresh and not rubbery at all. I went for a party with some friends and two of them both felt sick after eating. One of my friends ordered the taglionini and they were soo salty she only had a few bites of her meal and had a stomach ache the rest of the night. The waiter had implied that this was one of the restaurants signature dishes which and it was disappointing. Another friend of mine ordered the carbonara and she enjoyed it much more, but similarly the dish was way too salty and hard to finish. For a restaurant serving $40 pasta dishes you can get better elsewhere. The waiter also tried taking away our octopus appetizer dish when there was still half of it left and didn’t even ask before trying to clear the dish. Lastly, we had reservations at 8:45 that we made two months in advance and we didn’t get seated until 20 minutes later. I had this restaurant in my list for a long time and after finally going, I wouldn’t go back and wouldn’t recommend it either.
Reviews / Ratings for Stellina
Took the kids here on a Tuesday afternoon and it was honestly one of the easiest family meals we've had in a while. The staff were super welcoming and didn't bat an eye when my youngest made a mess of the table. We ordered the pasta and it was simple, fresh, and exactly the kind of food that pleases everyone without a fuss. We'll definitely be back, probably on our next low-key weekend when we want something relaxed without having to plan too much.
My partner and I decided to come back to Stellina after having a great experience 4 years ago. This time around we had a wonderful server Lisa, who was friendly and warm from the moment we arrived. Once I told her I had a nut allergy she double-checked with the kitchen and told me everything I could eat safely. Her recommendations for appetizers and bottle of red wine were delicious. Lisa's great service was highlighted by the rest of the staff who ensured our glasses were always full and consistently checked in to ensure we had everything we needed. A huge thank you to Lisa for making our anniversary celebration memorable, with great service and great food.
Only downside was that it was very loud
Service started out great but we had multiple people attending to us which made it difficult to know who to ask when we needed something. I prefer to have 1 server per table. The hosts were so sweet and accommodating even when we needed to modify our reservation time last minute. The ambience is great - but the tables and chairs felt a bit flimsy which I found odd. The food was pretty good. The bone marrow pasta was touch dry, but still delicious. The potato tortellini was so rich, but I really enjoyed it. Others claim the portions are small but I felt they were fine. There aren't many options for vegans, but there are some for vegetarians! The highlight was the tiramisu! I don't normally like it, but my friend really wanted it so we gave it a try and this is a dessert I would eat over and over again! Great wine selection.
We always have a delicious meal here. It’s definitely on the pricier side but honestly never disappoints. All of the pasta are incredible but the carbonara and tagliolini with buffalo butter are highlights!
Had an absolute pleasure to dine at Stelina recently and it was fantastic. The knowledge and service JJ gave us was incredible to say the least. Big thank you to the chefs behind the scene as well to the bartenders. The food was delicious and we left very impressed and satisfied. The pasta dishes are a must try families. Hit them up! Tell em’ Jay sent ya
-Insanely small portions for the exorbitant price of each dish. It’s almost insulting to hard working people who enjoy going out. - Calamari appetizer had a total of literally 8 calamari with the batter falling off them, mixed in a plateful of roasted green peppers, to hide the lack of calamari. Why serve them if they’re too expensive for you? - Burrata is not a whole ball of burrata at all— served on a few grilled peaches, with no bread ( 8$ Extra for a microscopic piece of “Focaccia” that is smaller than a McDonald’s cheeseburger bun.) It’s simply embarrassing. & Who does one think they are charging 50$ for a plate of pasta? For Italians who know good homemade, authentic food from Nonna, for young people that go out to restaurants often, it’s definitely disappointing all in all. Crazy prices for pasta and extremely mediocre appetizer/mains portions. The 5 star reviews are severely exaggerating. Please don’t take people for granted with abusive prices and portions thinking we don’t notice these things. Based on the responses by the owner to other well-deserved bad reviews, it’s clear his ego’s larger than caring about what people actually say in their honest reviews.
Amazing restaurant, great food, small menu which perfect. Great atmosphere and service
We were in Montreal for the weekend and booked Stellina at the last minute. The atmosphere and service were excellent. But the food was the star of the show. We had the crostone with anchovies, the calamari and the fungi saltimbocca. The crostone was a standout we loved it. Very simple ingredients but with all excellent Italian food it’s the quality that makes it amazing. For primi we had the angolotti with bone marrow which was like a very creative pasta version of osso bucco…amazing, the carbonara was classic and delicious and the rapini pasta with sausage ragu was a creative spin on a classic. Wine list was great and good choices by the glass. Will definitely come back next time we’re in town.
Food, atmosphere and service was great, excellent portions thank you Holden and Nina for the great service
The food was decent and clearly well prepared, but the experience didn’t justify the price. Portions were small, and the menu felt very limited, which made it hard to feel like you’re getting real value. What stood out most, though, is how this place reflects a bigger issue with dining out lately. You’re paying top dollar, but getting less of everything—smaller portions, weaker drinks, and fewer options. Charging $9 for a small piece of focaccia and serving undersized cocktails just reinforces that feeling. I had two Negronis—normally a strong drink—and didn’t feel anything at all, which says a lot. It’s starting to feel like dining out has become more about presentation and pricing than actual value. You leave spending a lot, but not satisfied. That’s disappointing, because going out to eat used to feel like a treat—now it often feels like a poor trade-off. I wouldn’t rush back.
I highly recommend. Menu is small but quality is spectacular.
This place has some of the best food I've ever tasted, it was incredible. The place was a little loud and a bit too pricey, but the food was delicious!
Absolutely love sitting at the open kitchen! The seasonal menu is always to die for, the staff is always kind and attentive! My go to recommendations!
Nicolas and the entire staff provided impeccable service and exquisite attention to detail! The wine selection is extensive, and every dish we tried was flavorful, well-textured, and thoughtfully prepared. Our experience truly surpassed all expectations. We’ll definitely be back and won't hesitate to recommend it to family and friends.
We had a delicious meal last Saturday night. Beautiful restaurant with very attentive service. The vitello tonato, pasta carbonara, risotto and desserts were outstanding.
We took the tasting menu and it was amazing! Lots of food and good service from both the staff and kitchen. We sat at the kitchen bar and it was a special culinary experience!
Amazing staff Delicious food Generous portions This is what Italian food is all about
Best carbonara and tiramisu I’ve had in my life. And I’ve had a lot so trust me.
