Stopped by for a quick dinner with the kids last Friday evening and it ended up being way easier than expected for a sit-down spot. The staff moved our order along fast without making it feel rushed, which matters a lot when you've got a six year old asking "is it ready yet" every two minutes. We split the roasted chicken and the kids actually ate their vegetables for once, which never happens at home. Already planning to go back on a weeknight since it's clearly built for families who need good food without a two hour commitment.

Terrible experience for a supposedly “fine dining” restaurant. I was seated alone at the bar facing the open kitchen. The kitchen staff were speaking Spanish, apparently unaware that I’m a native Spanish speaker. I overheard them making derogatory comments about me, including repeatedly saying “gay” and commenting on the fact that I was dining alone. Regardless of anyone’s sexual orientation, this kind of behavior is discriminatory, offensive, and completely unacceptable from restaurant staff. I spoke with the manager, but the experience was already ruined. Extremely toxic and unprofessional atmosphere. Stay away.

Stopped by at Stellina a few evenings ago and ended up shooting way more photos of the food than I expected to post. The wood fired pizza with the burrata on top had that perfect blistered crust, and the open kitchen gave me a great angle to catch the flames without being in anyone's way. Our server noticed me lining up a shot and actually offered to grab my glass out of the frame, which was such a small thing but made the whole meal feel easy. The dim lighting is tricky for photos but it sets a really warm mood that honestly made the pasta look even better in person than on camera.

Stopped by for dinner on a Tuesday night and the place was cozy but still buzzing, even mid-week. The wood fired pasta with the lamb ragu is something I keep going back for, honestly one of the best plates I have had in the city. Our server knew the wine list inside and out and steered us toward a natural red that paired perfectly without breaking the bill. It is the kind of spot that still feels like a neighborhood gem even after all the times I have been.

Stellina has quickly become one of my favorite Italian spots in Montreal, and after a recent dinner there I have to leave a review. The food is genuinely incredible, the kind of cooking that reminds you why simple Italian done right is so hard to beat. Everything felt fresh and carefully made, from the pasta to the wood-fired dishes, with flavors that were bold but never overdone. The pasta in particular stood out. It had that perfect texture you only get when it's made properly in house, and the sauces were rich without being heavy. We also tried a few of the wood-fired oven dishes, and the char and smokiness added a depth that made the whole meal feel special rather than routine. Portions were generous enough to share, which made it easy to try more of the menu. Beyond the food, the atmosphere hit the right note: lively without being loud, warm lighting, and a room that feels like a proper neighborhood Italian spot rather than something overly formal. Service was attentive and clearly knowledgeable about the menu, happy to make recommendations without being pushy. For anyone in Montreal looking for excellent Italian food in a great setting, Stellina is an easy recommendation. I'm already looking forward to going back and working through more of the menu.

My wife and I had a terrific dinner at Stellina last night. We did the $135 per person tasting menu and it was wonderful. The service, especially our server, Eric, was outstanding. Highly recommend Stellina!!

We stopped by Stellina last Friday evening after a day of wandering around the Plateau, and honestly it was one of the better meals we have had in Montreal in a while. The wood fired pasta with lobster mushrooms was worth the trip on its own, and our server took the time to walk us through the wine list without ever making us feel rushed. It gets loud and lively as the night goes on, which we did not expect but ended up loving, it gave the whole place this warm neighborhood energy. We are already talking about going back next time we are in town, maybe a bit earlier to snag a table on the patio.

I loved my dining experience in Montreal because I visited Stellina and had the opportunity to try their food! Not only is all of it is melt-in-your-mouth delicious but their service is kind and very attentive. I had a scrumptious pasta dish with a bone marrow sauce and it was paired beautifully with a sharp red—a recommendation of the host! They also have the cutest open-kitchen dining counter where you can observe the chefs at work. If I'm in Montreal again, this is the first place in coming back to for a good meal.

Overall, a good experience. The pasta is delicious and freshly made. The drinks were served cold and presented well. The service was alright, expected a more consistent and timely experience due to the elevated class of the place. The tiramisu and lemon dessert were great but the panna cotta was not what we expected. The bathrooms are very warm and there are only two stalls. It’s a nice ambiance and a pretty spot, love the open kitchen and the bar is cute too. One of the servers, Nico was kind enough to offer us a birthday dessert for our special night, which was a nice touch. Eric was very professional and friendly too.

From the moment we stepped in, we were treated like royalty! The staff here were wonderful! Luca was our waiter and he took the time to go through each item on the menu and explain it. He was so thorough and kind…could not have asked for a better server. The food and cocktails were all delicious! We had the bufala and the panzanella salad, followed by agnoletti and rigatoni and for dessert, tiramisu, panna cotta, and a dark chocolate one (can’t remember the name). They even gave recommendations for food for the rest of our week in Montreal!

We were just passing by this place late afternoon on Saturday (Aug 1). They have a great patio, so we decided to have dinner early. Very friendly and professional staff. I had the Tagliatelle and my wife had a shell pasta dish with calamari. The food was absolutely delicious...honestly the best meal we had while we were in Montreal for 4 nights, and we had many. Caveat...the smoked meat is still awesome too!
