Station Berlin looks cute and inviting, but the food isn’t truly authentic despite what the name suggests. We’ve had kebabs and döner all over Europe, including many times in Berlin, and this just didn’t compare. The biggest miss was the wrap itself, it was served on a tortilla???! That’s simply not how a proper döner is done. Traditionally, it should be in a pide, lavash, or at the very least a pita-style bread that has some structure and chew. The tortilla made the whole thing taste off and took away from the experience. We were also told the meat was beef, but it had a strong lamb-like flavor. We even asked to confirm, and while we were told it was beef, something about it didn’t quite match. The sauces were okay but lacked that bold, garlicky, tangy punch you expect from a good döner. The sandwiches were also missing cabbage, which is a pretty standard and important component in authentic versions. That said, the presentation is nice, the space is clean, and the service is genuinely kind and welcoming. We came by while getting our dog groomed nearby and were curious to try it. While it’s fine for a quick bite, we wouldn’t recommend it if you’re looking for a truly authentic döner experience.
