Came for my friend's birthday and they had no candles for her cake (knowing that she reserved the spot in advance) Luckly I asked the waiter for what was in the butter because it looked like seasoned butter. One of my friends is allergic to mushrooms and the regular butter took 15-20min to come. Someone else on the table wanted to heat up the raw section of their plate but they didn't want to accommodate her so she choose the tuna salad with no tuna, it usually comes with the raw tuna and 1 half of romaine lettuce. It's good that they compensate by giving her 2 half of the salad The lobster spaghetti was fireee 🍝 🦞 not too much salt not blend, tasty, creamy and luscious🤌🏼👌🏽 I would come back just for that. The oysters were fresh 😋 👌🏽 Francis (waiter) was doing his best to be attentive to the request of our big group. The bathrooms are clean, just a little too tight in space in the cabines. The lychee martini is strong & tasty 😋 👌🏽

Honestly I was excited to visit Soubois because of the positive reviews I had seen and heard all over, but my time there ended up being really disappointing . All of the employees we interacted with were rude or cold in some way, which by itself was already enough for me not to want to come back. But the food and drinks were extremely underwhelming too. My friend found hair in her salad, the glasses and silverware were almost all dirty, and the cocktails were honestly just gross. I highly highly suggest anyone reading this to entirely skip a visit here if you’re in Montreal.

Worst place in Montreal. People working there are extremely rude and ignorant. Music and atmosphere are also way below average. I don’t know why anyone would want to come here.

Yesterday night, I was singled out, belittled, sworn at, and threatened with arrest by a bouncer here all because I am Turkish and I handed them a valid Turkish ID. The bouncer tried to intimidate me and my friends by saying I would be in serious trouble and even spend time in jail. He arrogantly told me, “I’m calling the cops”, trying to frighten me, but when I handed him my dad over the phone, he lied and said he was never going to do that. He also refused to return my valid Turkish ID, causing extreme embarrassment and emotional distress in front of everyone. Another Turkish customer experienced the same treatment that night, showing this is not an isolated incident. When the police confirmed my ID was legitimate and even called the bouncers here “stupid”, he did not show any remorse and simply smirked at me like it was a joke. This behavior is discriminatory, arrogant, aggressive, and completely unacceptable. Be aware that staff here may single out and intimidate international visitors or anyone with a foreign ID.

I had an amazing dinner at Soubois tonight, and I have to give a big shoutout to my guy Debo. Even as a busboy, he went above and beyond for me and my friends. He was on point all night — clearing the table quickly, making sure we had everything we needed, and keeping the vibe smooth and comfortable. You can tell he actually cares about the guest experience, not just doing the bare minimum. His attention to detail and positive attitude really added to our night. Great energy, great service, and super professional. Appreciate you Debo — you made a good night even better. 🙌

Sotto was an incredible experience from start to finish. The atmosphere is warm and intimate, and every dish was absolutely delicious — authentic, beautifully prepared, and memorable. Debo truly made the night exceptional. Attentive, knowledgeable, and genuinely welcoming, his service was flawless. Can’t wait to go back.

The person at the coat hangers was extremely rude. I lost my ticket and she was NO HELP. She didn’t want to give me my coat back even when I described it aswell as my intials and everything. I had to wait until the closure (3 am) and I still don’t know if I’m going to get it back. This is ridiculous. ESPECIALLY in the middle of winter…..
