Stopped by last Friday evening around 7 for a bite at the bar and the kitchen was slammed yet still sent out a gorgeous beef tartare with the perfect amount of kick. I have been coming here for a few years now and the wine list keeps getting better, always something interesting by the glass that you would not find elsewhere in Gatineau. The staff behind the bar remembered my usual order and chatted with us between pours, which makes a huge difference after a long week. Parking on the street was a bit tight but honestly worth circling the block for a spot this cozy.

Stopped by in Gatineau a couple weeks ago while visiting from Alberta and loved the whole vibe of the place. The staff recommended a glass of orange wine to go with the charcuterie board and it ended up being the best pairing of the trip. It was a weeknight around 7pm and still managed to be lively without being too loud to actually talk. Street parking was a bit of a hunt but honestly worth it for a meal that good.

Stopped by Sunday morning for brunch and the space was already buzzing but still felt relaxed, perfect for a lazy weekend outing. Went with the mushroom tartine and a glass of natural white the staff recommended, and both were spot on. The server clearly knew the wine list inside out and took time to explain a few options without rushing us. Great little find for anyone wandering around downtown Gatineau looking for something more interesting than the usual brunch spot.

We stopped by Soif last weekend with our two kids and honestly it might be our favorite spot for a quick family dinner now. The kids menu was simple and came out fast, which our toddler appreciated more than any of us. Our server was patient with all the questions and noise from our table and still made us feel welcome the whole time. Great wine list for us adults too, and the casual patio vibe made it easy to relax while the kids fidgeted.

Beautiful outdoor seating, warm and pleasant. Very nice staff. Even helped with advice on street parking. The food and wine are always outstanding. We get the pairing option for wine. Leisurely pace great evening.

A gem in Gatineau. For wine lovers and fine dining, that's the Place for you. Staff is super nice and very well prepared, ready to suggest you the best wine that suits your evening there. Charcuterie and cheese plate are full of local stuff, same as other plates.

We celebrated our friends’ anniversary at Soif Bar á vin, party if 8, amazing selection of wines (Chianti so good we had another, Nova Scotia sparkling highly recommended) their cellar is a showcase worthy of admiration, delightful food (bison tartare, scallops) and awesome attentive service, merci Gilles! We’ll sure to come back and spread the word around!

A beautiful evening spent at Soif. The plates are the perfect size to share and the quality is phenomenal. The servers are attentive and very knowledgeable. They take their time pairing wines with your plates and you can simply enjoy the experience of tasting, asking questions and just being present. The menu is extensive but niche and has something for everyone! I am so happy I was able to enjoy a night at Soif and look forward to visiting again!

Their selection is thoughtful, diverse, and clearly curated by people who care deeply about what’s in the glass. Natural wines, interesting imports, bottles you won’t find just anywhere — it’s exciting without being intimidating. And I absolutely love the wine flight. It’s such a smart way to explore different regions and styles without committing to a full bottle. Each pour felt intentional, showcasing variety while still flowing cohesively. It turns your evening into a little tasting journey. You can tell this is a place built around passion for wine first — and that’s not a bad thing at all. The Food: Supporting Role, Still Solid But if we’re being honest, it doesn’t quite reach the same level as the wine program. The dishes complement the wines nicely ,fresh ingredients, balanced flavors, nicely plated , but they don’t quite steal the spotlight. That said, the dessert was a pleasant surprise. Sweet, satisfying, and a lovely way to round out the evening. It held its own and ended the meal on a high note.

Had the chance to book a Valentine’s Day dinner at Soif. Great stop for wine and good food lovers….the table d’hôte was delicious and very well paired w sets of wines that brought out the flavors of each dishes. Bravo to the chef and to Mme la Sommelier

We were a party of seven and had such a wonderful time. The staff was beyond accommodating. I am disabled and use a cane and one of the staff who sadly name I did not get switched out the stool for a chair with a back for me as I struggle to sit on stools with no backing. Our servers were absolutely wonderful and very informed on the menu and wines. The food was absolutely fantastic and they were able to accommodate two of our party who are gluten intolerant. Our server was able to recommend wines to complement our food and the matches were absolute perfection. 5 stars all around.

Food and drinks were lovely but it was our service that made it exceptional! Alex is such a rockstar. Brought the best energy, was very knowledgeable, and clearly knows what he's doing. Will be back if this is the sort of quality we can expect.
