Used to be a great place unfortunately over the last 8 years it has been going downhill. Staff is fantastic and do their best but the food feels like made by a highway dinner

Forget Schwartz's and come here. Traditional Montreal smoked meat, fries and a pickle. Who would want anything else?
Great smoked meat. Came here for the 1st time, yummy. Loud atmosphere, very busy at lunch! I will come back!! Luckily found parking on the street, had to walk a bit, but not too far (1 block).
Very disappointing experience. I paid nearly $20 for a turkey sandwich that contained only a tiny sliver of turkey and was nowhere near filling enough for the price. To make matters worse, I was charged extra for the roll, and this was never disclosed when ordering. The service was also poor. The waitress was snappy and rude when we asked questions, which made us feel unwelcome. In addition, the floor appeared unclean, which did not leave a good impression of the restaurant's cleanliness. Between the overpriced food, extremely small portion size, unexpected extra charges, rude service, and cleanliness concerns, I left feeling frustrated and disappointed. I will not be returning.
Overpriced food, small portions, and everything is sold separately — honestly, there’s no value here. The service was disappointing, and to make it worse, the owner was yelling at staff while customers were trying to eat. Not the kind of atmosphere you want when you’re paying restaurant prices

One of the best deli sandwiches I have ever had. The staff are amazing and super sweet. Will definitely be back!! Update- went back for the smoked meat which was great but the showstopper was their hot brisket sandwich. Loved it so much that I bought it again for dinner.
I was told to go here by the team at joe beef. I was going to schwartzs but they said I would be queing for ages… everytime I walked by schwartzs there was a que. If you’ve been to a kosher deli in london, this is exactly like that. The smoked meat was delicious. Distinct from londons salt beef and new yorks pastrami. Well worth it. The fries looked amazing but I wanted Knisch as we dont get those in London.
update: I just had it again today and it really tastes just like everybody else's smoked meat, also, I ordered grilled karnatsils and they were taking a long time to come so ask the waitress. she went to check and brought them to me burnt like charcoal. I couldn't believe it. I enjoy almost all the food there I love the smoked meat I love their breakfasts, last time I picked up an order they forgot the grilled Karnatsles (don't know how to spell it) which I paid for.

Smoked meat sandwich and a Matza ball soup was a fantastic first meat in Montreal.
We had a really enjoyable evening here. The ordering process was efficient, the employees made us feel welcome, and the food was satisfying. The atmosphere was relaxed and pleasant as well. Definitely planning to return in the near future.
Really tasty smoked meat. Got 1/2 for $14 and a jar of mustard for $4. Meat was tasty but got medium fatty and Some parts were like chunks/globs of fat, so that downgraded them slightly. Staff was super nice though.
Amazing juicy smoked meat and fries and so much more, old school ambiance and iconic location. The mini danish, party sandwiches and knishes are a must for take out. We have been coming here for years. Was my father’s go to for special father/daughter lunches. Now I bring my boys here.
We went there 2 people and got 3 dishes, were so full after that. They are all the very classic dishes but all taste very good. Would recommend if you want a classic brunch in Montréal! 😁
This restaurant is a hidden gem. The welcoming vibe is perfect for a night out. The main dishes and appetizers were both highlights of our dinner. Service was attentive without being overbearing. I can’t wait to come back and try even more items from their diverse menu.
Snowden is a classic Montreal deli. When people ask about Schwartz's, I tell them to come here. Hart and the team really try to offer the best service possible. We have used them for large catering several times and they always are highly reliable. I recommend the smoked meat sandwich and fries.
If you have a car skip Schwartz's and come to Snowdon instead. No long tourist lines, and you don't feel rushed. This has all the benefits of one of Montreal's best smoked meat sandwich experience without the lines. The staff are all very friendly and many locals come here. Not for everyone but they have amazing chopped liver here! I always get a pound of it to go whenever I'm in Montreal.
Worth every dollar. One of our favorite places To visit in Montreal. Everything is delicious
