Had a double smash burger and their fries. Great burger with excellent pickles that they make in-house. Fries were also excellent - perfect golden exterior and soft interior. Everything was fresh. Their sauces were spot on too. Got my order to go but ended up eating the entire thing in the store. Menu is simple - not many items there. In my opinion this is a good thing since they can focus on doing what they do extremely well. Next time I will try their chicken sandwich. I spoke briefly with Stevie, who I assume is the owner or a manager. Seems like a swell guy. I was surprised they've only been there for 2 months. Definitely recommend going here if you like burgers.

Smash MZL was a smash hit with my family. From the first bite to the last fry, it totally delivered. The burgers are the real deal. My son went for the 514 Smoked-Meat Smash, which is basically Montreal comfort food stacked on a burger. Smoked meat, Swiss parve, jalapeños and secret sauce. Rich, messy and worth every napkin. I tried the “KFC” Kadosh Fried Chicken Burger and the American Grilled Cheese & Fries. The chicken was crispy but still juicy inside. We also shared the Savage Smash Fries, which are not for the faint of heart. Smoked meat, gravy, cheddar parve coulis, caramelized onions and jalapeños piled onto crinkle fries. It’s indulgent in the best way. Definitely a fork-and-don’t-share situation. Service was friendly and fast, and everything tasted fresh. You can tell they care about flavour and execution, not just hype. If you’re craving a proper smash burger with personality, and sides that don’t feel like an afterthought, Smash MZL is absolutely worth the visit. We’ll be back.

The smash burgers and fries were absolutely incredible. The house sauce for the burger was one of the best sauces I’ve ever had. 10/10 burger

If you’re hunting for next-level smash burgers in Montreal, Smash MZL on Jean-Talon West is an absolute gem. From the second you walk in, you can tell this place is built with passion. Steve, the owner, is genuinely one of the nicest people you’ll meet and clearly cares about every single order that leaves the kitchen. The burgers? Easily some of the best smash burgers in the city… and they are MK kosher. Crispy edges, juicy center, and packed with flavor. The Savage Fries are straight up addictive. The KFC chicken burger is insanely good, and the wings are legit finger-licking quality. The pièce de résistance is the “Savage Fries”!!! OMG absolute 🔥!!!! If you love great comfort food done right, this spot is a must-try. Go hungry and thank me later. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
