Everything was solid, from the mezze dips to the tiramisu/baklava dessert and in between. Raphael had great recommendations, the drinks were amazing, and the playlist was fun. We’ll definitely be back
What guests say about SHAY
SHAY seems to be a very good option in Montreal for brunch or dinner, with Lebanese/Middle Eastern cuisine often described as tasty, fresh, and nicely presented. The service very often stands out as a major strength: attentive, fast, and warm, especially for groups. A few reviews do mention dishes that were too dry or cold, waits for service, and a value-for-money ratio that is sometimes debated.

The food is good, but nothing that stands out for me. I’ve had two dinners and one brunch there. The service was welcoming.
Staff is super friendly and gets you right with the mimosas
Amazing vibe and service! And the food!!! Wowww. Especially the chef’s menu experience at 85$/ person… We had to ask for take-outs, which they graciously provided. Their servers are second to none in the city, but special shout out to Anna! What a wonderful evening. Can’t recommend enough.
I just have to give a shoutout to Gaspar at Shay. We were walking around late, unsure since other places were closed, and I was hesitant to go in because they were about to shut down. But Gaspar was amazing so warm and welcoming. He made us feel right at home. We had the chicken shish tawook, shrimp, a fattoush salad, and hummus everything was incredible. The food was fantastic, but Gaspar really made the night special. Thank you so much!
My experience at this restaurant was a bit overwhelming. At the beginning, both the waiter and the manager informed us that we could not order one dish to share and were required to order two separate plates, each costing around $80. I completely understand that every restaurant has its own policy, but I believe this should be clearly stated on the menu to avoid confusion. Throughout the meal, the waiter interrupted our conversation many times, which made it difficult for us to talk comfortably. I do appreciate the effort and kindness of the staff, but overall the portions were quite small and I did not feel that the experience was worth the price paid.
We had such a great experience ✨ The staff were incredibly kind and welcoming, which made everything even more enjoyable. The food was absolutely delicious 👌 The atmosphere was also very chic and beautiful. One thing I really appreciated was the music volume — it was perfectly set so we could easily have a conversation without any disturbance. Overall, it was an experience we’ll definitely be coming back for 💛
We had such a lovely night at Shay Restaurant! We were a group of 6 girls, and honestly, everything about the experience was just perfect. The service was truly outstanding—so friendly, patient, and attentive from start to finish. We stayed for quite a long time, and not once did we feel rushed. They kept checking on us and made sure we were comfortable the entire evening, which we really appreciated. The atmosphere was beautiful, the energy was great, and everything felt very welcoming. It’s rare to find a place that maintains such high-quality service consistently throughout the night. One of the best experiences we’ve had as a group. Can’t wait to come back again! 💫
I had such an amazing experience at Shay Restaurant! We were a group of 6 girls, and from the moment we walked in until the very last minute we left, the service was absolutely exceptional. The staff were incredibly kind, attentive, and genuinely welcoming. Even though we stayed for quite a while, they never rushed us and continued to take care of us with the same positive energy the entire time. That level of hospitality really stood out. Everything was perfect—from the atmosphere to the food and overall vibe. You can really tell they care about their customers and the experience they provide. Definitely one of the best service experiences I’ve had. Highly recommend this place, especially if you’re going with a group. We’ll for sure be coming back! ✨
It’s WOOWWWWWW Imma impressed
Amazing service and incredible food. I had accidentally booked our reservation for the wrong day, but when we showed up a day early with a party of five at 10pm, they accommodated us right away without any issues. It’s clear this restaurant is very well run—everyone was welcoming, attentive, and consistently checked in without being overbearing. The food was outstanding. We ordered a variety of dishes, and the highlights were the baklava pancakes, the mezze dips, and anything featuring their lamb—absolutely delicious. A special shoutout to our server, Leyla, who was fantastic and made the experience even better. Also the playlist at the restaurant was a vibe. Overall, a great experience at Shay—we’ll definitely be back!
Had brunch here today. The shawarma Benedict was good but the omelette was on the sweeter side for some reason. Overall, the food is decent but too expensive for the quantity provided. The Benedict could do with a salad or potatoes on the side and so could the omelette really.
Great food and service! Juliette was the best!
Honestly an amazing place, love the vibe, the ambiance, music and everything having to do with food, would definetly recommend!!
I’d give this place a 6 out of 5 if I could. The food was amazing and the service was too notch. Highly recommend and I will be back!
Food was expensive and not cooked properly. Ordered bénédictine eggs with mushrooms, 24$. Plate arrived it's 2 eggs cooked all the way through on a single piece of toast with mushrooms. Honestly the meal was very tasty apart from the egg not at all being bénédictine. Showed my plate to the waiter when he came back. He told the kitchen, that's it. Honestly I almost didn't say anything for my eggs but there were also other things going wrong. When ordering a mokaccino I asked for extra whipped cream on it, the drink he brought had no whipped cream on it. Had to ask him to bring it back. 2 (out of 3) of the wine glasses that were brought for our drinks were dirty (one had a food bit on it the other white drops on it), had to return them. My friend ordered baklava crepes, they brought her pancakes (she doesnt like pancakes). We felt bad cause it felt like we were complaining on everything, we didn't say anything for the pancakes. Ended up paying 42$ for a toast with 2 hardboiled eggs and a mokaccino, issues with both of those items. :/ Don't recommend
Great experience. Service was beyond great. Staff extremely pleasant and on top of things. Food was fabulous with great portions.
The baklava pancakes were amazing! sweet, not too heavy, so great. But, I noticed a short curly hair in my food, which was very unpleasant. I told the staff, but she only asked if I wanted a new dish. The food was memorable, but I’m not sure if I’d go back. The place itself was warm and pretty!
Great food and great service. The busboy accidentally threw out our leftovers (and there was still plenty of meat left), but the manager immediately stepped in and took care of us. The chef even made us a fresh to-go portion to replace it. Really appreciated how they handled it.. mistakes happen, but they went above and beyond to make it right.
Love Shay! We came in late, and they were kind enough to take us. We expected good and tasty and still left amazed. Everything down to rice was great! Go see Gaspard at the bar for a great cocktail. Cheers guys!
Amazing food, great service and ambiance. Would definitely recommend.
Had a super lovely brunch at Shay on a Saturday. Dhris was our server and was fantastic, gave us great recommendations and over all great service ! Would for sure recommend Had the Hummus , shawarma egg Benedict, mushroom egg Benedict and the matcha French toast , Shay chai and cortado
Brunch at Shay delivered the kind of experience that reminds you why the ritual of brunch deserves to be done well. From the moment we sat down, the service set the tone. Layla, our beautiful bubbly server, brought warmth and attentiveness that elevated the entire meal, while the floor manager moved through the room with the kind of thoughtful presence that signals a restaurant that truly cares about hospitality. The bottomless mimosas were generous and consistently refreshed, the kind of offering that feels celebratory without becoming intrusive to the flow of the meal. We ordered several dishes to share, which proved to be the right approach given the restaurant’s notably generous portions. The shakshuka was deeply flavourful, its rich tomato base layered with light spices that made it both comforting and satisfying. One portion was more than enough for our table of four, and we still had some left behind. The shawarma eggs benedict offered a creative twist on a classic. The dish balanced savoury shawarma spices with the richness expected from a good benedict, resulting in something both familiar and distinctive. The lamb and eggplant tartine was perhaps the standout of the table: buttery, decadent, and beautifully composed. The combination of tender lamb with silky eggplant created a dish that felt indulgent yet balanced. It was my first time trying it, and it alone is reason enough to return. For something sweet, we got the baklava pancakes. Fluffy and well-structured, they captured the nutty, honeyed essence of baklava without tipping into overwhelming sweetness. They are undeniably filling, so sharing is the wise choice. The atmosphere tied everything together. The DJ played a relaxed selection of R&B that added energy to the room without overpowering conversation, a small but thoughtful detail that made the brunch feel lively yet comfortable. Overall, Shay delivers a brunch that is generous in both flavour and hospitality. The menu rewards sharing, the service is attentive, and the atmosphere strikes the right balance between vibrant and relaxed. It’s the kind of place you leave already planning your return, as we did. Also, we were honoured with tasting their upcoming drink, we are excited for the summer.
Amazing brunch!!! Paula’s service was incredible & made the experience fun and memorable. Will for sure be back 💛
Loved this place!! Food was so good, so much choice. I'm all about the bottomless mimosas and Sabrina made sure we had a great time. Recommend
