Great experience, I had gone with my family on Saturday for Mother's day and we had the pleasure of being served by Anna, she had warm presents which was complimented by her enthusiasm and detailed knowledge of the menu; she was very accommodating to my mothers intolerance to garlic and made sure to inform herself with the kitchen in order to give us the best recommendations for our meal. The restaurant seems like it had a good staff, but do to her great service and naturally joyful energy we had no doubt that we had the best in the whole restaurant tending to us; thanks again Anna

everything was great :) we loved the cheese rolls
Extremely mediocre.
Food was good, services and staff excellent
Went for brunch and the food was fine, but from the moment we arrived, the waiter kept pushing us to leave so he could seat other groups. I got the bill before I got my coffee... Not impressed
This place was a fantastic atmosphere, so much so that I was momentarily worried about the prices when we walked in. Luckily the food was very well priced, but delicious far beyond what I was expecting. The dishes were creative and every flavour went together perfectly. This is my new favourite brunch spot in Montreal. Our server Shawn was attentive and welcoming. My girlfriend and I were able to be seated at the bat with no wait, but you probably need reservations for a table. Great spot, I will be back to try the rest of the menu. First edit: I went back to Shay with a friend for brunch and unfortunately it did not live up to the quality of the first experience. We ordered the shawarma eggs benedict and the Dubai chocolate pancakes. Somehow, the Dubai chocolate pancakes did not come with any chocolate, only cocoa powder... I am trying to understand if we ordered the wrong thing but there is nothing else on the menu to confuse it with. See photos for what we got versus what was on their website. Furthermore, while the first time the food was delicious enough and the portions large enough that we did not really miss having a side. The second time, that was not the case, and in particular the eggs benedict really lacked something else. I don't know of any other brunch spot which doesn't give any sides with their meals, and unfortunately this time, we really noticed the missing pieces.
The photos on here look great, no doubt. The taste, however, left us feeling disappointed and like we were scammed. The food is not authentically Lebanese. We had the "menu à partager" for 45$. The first round tasted good with the pita and the hummus etc, but after that nothing else was tasty. I feel like more attention was put into making the food look visually appealing than the actual flavours, because the fried chicken on a waffle was just mediocre and bland, the Benedict eggs were boring and uninteresting, and the pancakes - which were what I was the most looking forward to because of the photos that were posted here - were dry, didn't have enough syrup for everyone, and just unimpressive. They tasted like eggs and there was no sauce, cream, syrup, or anything between each pancake to make it more flavourful, so the creme on top, the baklavas and the pistachios could not make up for the dryness. The whole meal was overly filling, greatly exaggerated, and if I had the choice I would've never ordered so much, (for quantity and for quality) but the course menu being forced upon us left me no choice. We had the terrace, which was not at all insulated, no walls to separate us from the outside. The waitresses feel VERY fake and overly friendly in a way that was unpleasant. It's obvious they are amping it up to squeeze the tips out of you. When they hand you the machine to make your payment, the default for tips is at 18% written in big, then if I remember correctly 20% and then higher. There is an option to do manual tips, but understandably, most people feel uncomfortable to go out of their way to tip lower, so this felt like an extorsion of the kindness of people. Overall disappointing, I will never come back.
I was new at the area and I’ve just finish my run so I wanted some brunch as post run, all I can say is that they were super kind !!! Service was awesome! The food was great and all the options were so tasty ! I will go back there to try their dessert cuz it looked amazing ! Thanks to the girl at the reception and the guy who served me ! They were super professional and kind ! 👌🩷
I recently visited Shay Restaurant. The atmosphere was really nice and the staff were friendly and welcoming, which made the experience enjoyable. However, the food was quite average considering the price, and I expected more in terms of quality. That said, the Fattoush salad was excellent and definitely the highlight of the meal.
We visited Shay for a birthday brunch and had an exceptional experience. The ambiance was lively and inviting, and the brunch menu did not disappoint. What truly stood out was the outstanding service from our waiter, Driss. He was warm, attentive, and engaging, ensuring our table was well taken care of at all times. His service added such a memorable touch to our celebration. Highly recommend for brunch!
My entire group of 4 loved this place. It was our first (definitely not last visit). From the moment we walked in we loved the place. It was super clean, a warm atmosphere, music not too loud. And we were greeted by everyone. Our waitress Anna gave us the best service ever (I’m not exaggerating). She instantly suggested we do a ‘set’ menu for dinner to share as we were a group of 4. Warned us not to get full on bread (which was hard because that was so yummy with the 3-4 dips it came with) because there would be a huge meat platter (it was massive) and dessert with coffee/tea. She checked up on us, was friendly, went above and beyond for our table. Paulina’s service was equally as good. She came to check up on us, explained what she was bringing to the table, made sure our waters stayed full, and our table was clean (along with this guy Mikeal). They never rushed us to leave, even made conversation with us! I highly recommend this place. Considering we got drinks and huge food portions, and perfect service from everyone, it was worth the price. Overall, everyone and everything made it welcoming, you’ll love the food, quality service, the price for what you get, and the attentiveness of the staff.
Tucked away and quietly perfect. Beautiful food, even better vibe.
Very nice Mediterranean twist.
Had a great experience while visiting Montreal. Had the Armenian Kofta with Fattoush salad. Staff were friendly and took the time to chat.
The food arrived like a story told through flavor—rich, authentic dishes that spoke of tradition, care, and home. Every bite felt intentional, comforting, and full of soul. Shawn, our server, moved through the evening with a quiet kindness—attentive without ever intruding, present in a way that made everything feel easy. There was a natural grace in the way we were looked after. Completed with the nice shots on house! And then there was our corner—cozy, tucked away, almost like a small world of our own. The noise of everything else faded into the background, leaving space for real conversation, for a night that passed like a glowing star. A beautiful night, held together by good news, good food, and the kind of company that turns moments into memories.
I am certainly surprised by almost 4.6 rating of this place. I had a brunch at Shay, the order mushroom Benedict as you can see in the picture instead of Benedict the eggs were fully boiled. this brunch cost 25 dollars. My partner ordered lamb ruben which was far from satisfactory as well. paid around 103 (tax and tip) and certainly not going to visit this place ever again for brunch.
Anna is an excellent waitress, and the food was wonderful
