I had a reservation at 13:15 and arrived at 13:08. Even though the bar seats were empty, I was left waiting for 20 minutes. I had another appointment within an hour, so unfortunately I had to leave without being served. What disappointed me most was the waiter’s attitude. A couple who arrived just two minutes before me were served, while I was completely ignored. During the time I was waiting, he chatted with another waitress, took orders from other tables, prepared a takeout order, and poured drinks for two different tables — all while making eye contact with me and still not acknowledging or serving me. I have been to this restaurant a few times before. In December, I came for the first time and really enjoyed it. In February, I brought my family to try it, and we all liked it. I was even planning to come back with friends. However, this experience completely changed how I feel. I wanted to have a special Valentine’s Day lunch, but instead I left feeling ignored and embarrassed. As a single woman dining alone, I should never feel like I am less important or not taken seriously as a customer. Because of this experience, I will be looking for another place in the future. Very disappointing.
Reviews / Ratings for SESAME - BISTRO ASIATIQUE
Had a reservation at 6:45 got seated at 7:07
Nice resto, great service, food was not too bad
This was not my first time here, but the food experience was the worst. One of my friends got the soup so cold, she had to go back and request to heat it up. The pokes came with old and cold rice, my Pad Thai contained only the tails of the broccoli with no heads. I mean seriously? We went on Sunday and it seems we got the leftovers of Saturday!
I do not recommend to order online from this restaurant. Not only did it take longer than expected (no fault to the Uber driver)…. But an item was missing from delivery and food was mediocre for the price. As I was unable to get a refund, I had to go pick the missing item. On the phone they agreed to add a dumpling discovery entree as compensation and recanted on it when I went to pick up the missing item. Saying because I ordered from Uber eats they were unable to do so. This was confusing since I ordered from the Sesame website and not my Uber app…. Needless to say I will not be ordering from here again. Very disappointing for the price I paid. Not worth it…
The food was very good, but the portions were very small for the price. It was 25$ for a small bowl of chicken teriyaki- and there was barely any chicken in it… it didnt even seem to be half a chicken breast worth of meat. It was overwhelmingly vegetables, which were amazing (cooked and flavoured right) but i definitely expected more chicken. I paid 3$ extra for it to be served with fried rice instead of regular (fried rice was also delicious). So in total my plate was 28$ which is very pricey in my opinion for the amount of food i got. The rice too was small in quantity imo. IN SUMMARY- i really enjoyed the taste but just found the portions tiny. And im not usually someone who eats in large quantity. I also got a drink which was decent, nothing to go crazy over. In total with tip i spent just under 60$. I dont think i would go back because of the portion- and if i did go back i think it would be way more worth it to just buy the tasting menu for 2 rather than my own plate..
Music too loud. Had to speak loudly to communicate with person on other side of table
Poor service and poorly trained staff.
Never disappointed in this restaurant. Staff is always friendly and food is amazingly.
Delicious food with quality and fresh ingredients, impeccable service and chill atmosphere. Always a great experience at Sesame.
The appetizers were so good — definitely my favorite part! I found the Pad Thai a bit too spicy for my taste, but I don’t eat spicy food at all. My friends really enjoyed it though. The poke bowls were very good, and the portions were generous. As for the drinks, they were okay — not bad, but not a standout for us. Overall, yes, I would recommend this place. The music wasn’t too loud, so we could easily talk to each other, and the service was great. 😊
I've been to Thailand a few times and I have eaten red curry in many places in Montreal - I have to say that their red curry sauté just isn't it and it doesn't taste remotely close to it. The food wasn't bad and there was a good amount of shrimps, but don't call it red curry if it won't taste like it. Music was a bit loud and tables very close to each other, but great service and great drinks as well. I might go back, but I'll definitely go with lower expectations for any authenticity.
Very happy to try asian food of great quality.
This food was amazing! I had the peanut butter sauce on both of my dishes and it was one of the best I’ve ever had!
The dumplings, the pad sew, the soup were really good. You must try the black sesame ice cream 😋
Honestly the atmosphere was great it is beautiful inside and very clean, the service was slow. My fiancée and I went last night and we were seated at 6:45, and we finished eating around 9, which is not awful because we don’t mind talking, but the timing of food was long and wierd. We got imperial rolls and soups super quick then it took almost an hour to get salmon tartar then another 30-45 minutes before we got the mains. I felt bad for the waiter because it was not his fault at all, kitchen service just needed to be a bit better. Food was safe, nothing state of the art, it was just safe. I gave it a 3 because for 160$ with tip, I don’t feel like I personally had food worth that money.
Very good tasting food ! Loved the calamari!
