What a terrible experience. A member of our party is allergic to MSG and as advertised on the website, pictured below, no MSG in their flavours. However, when asking the waitress to verify, the answers were always unclear—some contain and some don’t. Alright, we asked the waitress to come back with the choices that do not contain MSG. We ordered apps and mains, awaiting still the verification that the app does not contain MSG. No verification done but the order placed. Only when pushed to verify again when the apps arrived at the table, did a manager come over to say that the wontons ordered contained MSG in the wrappers. The level of attention of the staff and their taking allergies seriously is unacceptable. A disappointing experience in the restaurant. We have ordered take out before a the food is quite alright. It’s unfortunate that the staff really put a damper on our evening.

We would like to clarify an important point regarding MSG. At Sesame, we indicate that we do not add MSG to our recipes. However, as with many ingredients commonly used in Asian cuisine, some products may naturally contain small amounts of glutamates or may come from suppliers whose ingredients contain MSG. For this reason, we cannot guarantee that every component of our dishes is completely MSG-free. That being said, we always do our best to limit its presence and to remain transparent with our guests. We also expect our team to take dietary restrictions seriously and to provide clear information whenever questions about ingredients are asked. We are sorry that the communication during your visit was not as clear as it should have been. Our website, in its French version, appears clear on this point. However, thanks to the screenshot you shared, we understand that the English version may be confusing. Corrections will therefore be made to clarify this information. Your feedback will be shared with the team so we can improve how we handle these situations and ensure better follow-up when guests ask questions about ingredients. Putting a 4 bc the other party's general tao was great. Mine, definitely a 3 - I had a thai coco, and i wasn't impressed. Thai Express makes better tom yum. It lacked depth - like an under developed broth. I wouldn't order it again. Not sure why there were edamame beans in it either. Odd choice.
