Was near the area and wanted to try some Indonesian food. We ordered most of the beef and prawn related items on the menu, as well as all the desserts. Everything tasted very good. My favourite was the chicken leg, it goes so well with the sauce. The skewers were also delicious and tender, but the prawn one could have more flavour. Their service could be a little more organized. We had multiple waitresses come over to ask the same things, and when we asked for them, they said they were busy and would come back but never came back. I would also recommend a reservation as they dont have that much seating and it gets pretty busy, even on weekdays. The desserts weren't that special, tasted average for the price. But I would still recommend if you're looking for Indonesian style food!

Great culinary experience. The flavors came together nicely on every dish and the service was really attentive and helpful. I would have liked to see more diverse flavors on their menu especially from Indonesian cuisine but overall 10/10 I would go back to try the rest of the menu
The food was absolutely delicious. I will be thinking about this restaurant for a long time and wishing it wasn’t a couple plane rides away. So grateful they were able to fit us in- we didn’t have the most time to spend there but every single dish was full on incredible flavor. We will be back one day!
Every dish that we ordered was extremely flavorful and unique in texture and taste. Definitely a gastronomic adventure. Fried oyster mushroom, beef ribs, pandan creme brulee, and grilled chicken are just some of the great dishes.
Highly recommend! My friend and I were in Montreal a few weeks ago. We discovered this restaurant while having dinner at the restaurant next door the night before. We viewed the menu near their door and decided to come here for dinner the next night. We were astonished by the fusion of Indonesian and Malaysian dishes. My friend and I tried the assorted sambal (pecel, hainan, tumis, & matah) with our dishes. My friend had the chips with the sambal and loved it. Unfortunately, I couldn't try the chips as they are cooked with the same oils as the meats and I am vegan. I tried the Kari Kelapa which came with a whole coconut mixed with vegetables, green leaves, and tofu. It was delicious! Once I finished the curry, I was able to eat the inside of the coconut which scraped off easily and cleanly; I was impressed. My friend and I shared the coconut-lemongrass rice, which was delicious. She ordered the Kerang Kemangi which came with steamed mussels in lemon-basil coconut sauce; she loved it. All the staff members were friendly and professional. I always love a dimly lit restaurant.
Such a good spot! We had brunch on a Sunday, no waiting in line. Toast was lovely, matcha too, but the indo coffee was really unlike anything we'd ever tasted. Also, plenty of vegetarian and vegan options.
Great food, the pandan creme brulee was an especial highlight for me, the rendang was also wonderful and a real, distinct treat.
Delicious Indonesian cuisine. Great drink menu too.
First time trying this Resto , Made a reservation for 8:30 and they accepted it, someone called back from the resto asking if we can come early ! By which the answer was simple we rather cancel the reservation and go somewhere else ! But then they insisted that we would be able to order at our own pace. Walking in 8:30 sat us down , and clearly mentioned we need to order what ever we want to eat now cuz it’s the last call the kitchen is closing ! I understand the resto business when it’s dead you close early and make sense but don’t make me come in by reservation and announce last call ! Very unprofessional from the management!
Amazing food!!!!! And they were so accommodating to several dietary/allergy requirements
Great food !! Nice discovery 😀 we loved the oyster mushrooms and the sambals. 🫶🏼 And highly recommend the pandan creme brûlé.
Great food! Great discovery!
Excellent food, service and the best toilet I have ever been to. Would love to go again!
The food was unbelievable! Such a great experience. The server was very helpful in explaining the menu. My meal came in a coconut and it was delicious. The pandan crème brûlée and fried mushrooms were out of this world. Highly recommended.
Great place. Great food. Loved it. You really need to try this. Just be aware that it's not a really cheap restaurant (200$ for 2 persons).
One of the best Indonesian Restaurants in the Montreal Area
My new favourite brunch place in montreal! They were so accommodating of my allergies and celiac disease and it was delicious! Legit a happy dance every time I ate a new dish!
My daughter has Celiac and is extremely sensitive to gluten. We went to Satu Lagi for dinner on 2/15/2026 and both their menu and our server assured us it was dedicated GF except for some beers. My daughter started to complain about feeling unwell soon after leaving the restaurant and within an hour had uncontrollable vomiting and diarrhea for hours even despite administering her a prescription anti-emetic. She was collapsed the bathroom floor for hours and was bedridden the entire next day. The rapid onset and symptoms are consistent with gluten exposure and not food poisoning since neither myself nor spouse who ate most of the same dishes as my daughter became ill. I filed a food safety complaint with the province of Quebec as directed via the city of Montreal website but have not received a response as of this date. I strongly caution anyone who is highly sensitive to gluten from eating at Satu Lagi!
They tricked me. Said on reservation I could order off the regular menu but when we arrived they would only allow us to order a full 4 course meal..

Adored the satay skewers as well as their complementary sauces. The chicken, calamari, beef and rice were all great. They serve lovely cocktails that are powerful and diverse in flavour. The portion sizes are a bit smaller but very typical for tapas style / sharing style restaurants. Lovely atmosphere, decor and interior design. Professional and clean service.
The nasi lemak here is amazing. I would say this is the only truly authentic Indonesian food in Montreal, and it tastes so good! The flavors are rich and authentic, and the sambal is perfectly spicy and bold. Their kopi susu is also delicious, and honestly, everything we tried was great. The service is really good too. I would definitely come back again!
OMG the flavours in this place are out of this world and so refreshing. The Rendang daging (coconut beef) is to die for, the Ayam goreng manis (fried chicken with fermented honey) will blow your mind, the Kajang panjang kluwek (green beans) is so delicious you won't stop eating... Yes it gets expensive if you have wine like we did, but just go for the food and you'll freak out!!
All gluten free food! I recommend beef Nasi Lemak, it goes better than the fried chicken. Eggs Benedict looked fairly standard with a Malaysian twist.
We just had a fantastic dinner here! We did the tasting menu for $65 per person and I highly recommend. The flavors were perfectly balanced and the food was plentiful and rich. Lots of lemongrass and shallots keeping everything tasting extra fresh. Everything was so delicious you paused after each bite to let your eyes roll back in ecstasy. The service was spot on with kind, attentive, helpful waiters who were also not intrusive. Also, a beautiful room. Go if you can!
