Delicious izakaya on St-Denis not far from the Mount Royal metro station. Had a yummy spicy ramen and aburi salmon sushi! My friend tried a variety of other dishes like katsu pork, raw scallop, cod... The waitress was very nice and recommended great dishes!

Super yummy! valid price coming from students. We had ramen but the fish looks really good too. Why is there an avocado nigiri for 6 dollars? im also wondering that. Great service the girlies were very nice and attentive. Quiet place which was nice. Beautiful indoors.

I went to Sato Isakaya with my friends, and the experience was horrendous. The food was terrible. The sauce for the chicken katsu felt store-bought and was literally microwaved (half of the bowl was cold, the other half hot). The salad on the side was also incredibly low quality; once again, I think it might have been store-bought. In addition to the poor-quality food, the service was horrendous. There were six of us, and even though all of us ordered at the same time, not one of us ate with one another. Yes, it is true we were famished (which makes the food tasting terrible even more impressive), but there were prolonged noticeable gaps between each individual service. It made me feel like I was eating in a cafeteria, not a restaurant.

What a gem! We were able to get a reservation easily, but I don’t think that’s going to be the case for long, because this place is fantastic. We had a variety of things, all were delicious! I had the salmon Aburi sushi, very unique. A rectangular shaped Rice that has ribbons of salmon throughout and a slightly chared exterior. Each piece is top with a slice of jalapeño and a swirl of sato sauce. The flavours were mouth watering good! I then tried the Inari spicy tuna sushi, again very original. A marinated tofu pocket filled with rice and topped with creamy spicy tuna, I ordered another almost immediately after taking my first bite. I enjoyed a saki martini with my meal and it complimented the flavours perfectly. Every aspect of this restaurant is well thought out.

Excellent restaurant. High quality Japanese food and great service. I have been 5 times in the past 6 months. I take all my friends there and it's also great for a date :)

As someone that lived in Japan for a couple of years I can say the food is very authentic and very delicious. The servers were absolutely phenomenal and it had a very fun and intimate atmosphere. Definitely worth a visit.

The ramen was flavourless and watery, the noodles did not taste homemade - seems like packaged storebought noodles. Maybe ramen is not their specialty and I should have tried the katsu for a more flavourful and fresh option.

Had a very good memory here today! Food was amazing! We have tried Tonkatsu, the homemade sauce was phenomenal! The vibe was also nice, on top of that, staff was so friendly and caring!! Want to visit again in no time!

Great place to eat with friends and loved ones. The atmosphere is perfect, with good music, pretty decorations that fit with the Japanese vibe and dim lighting. The service is amazing. Friendly staff, always checking in to see if everything's fine and also quite fast. As for the food, it was a bit deceiving for me but maybe it's because I had too high expectations. We had the chicken karaage which was delicious! A good wakame salad, the pork dumplings with truffle sauce that were underwhelming and also the takoyaki that I really didn't like but that's just my taste. Oh! And I had the Tokyo mule drink which was excellent.

Delicious food and each dish feels very different from the others! Particularly loved the salad with crispy tofu, and the pressed sushi Only thing I would improve are the cocktails/mocktails, they taste very diluted

We were looking for an izakaya in the Plateau area, and it initially seemed promising. The decor is warm and thoughtfully done, expectations were naturally high. Unfortunately, the food did not live up to that promise. The nori was clearly not fresh; it was so tough I couldn’t even cut through it with my teeth. The chicken skewers were also disappointing, especially considering the price — they felt overpriced for what was served. It’s a shame because the space itself is lovely. However, in this case, the food simply doesn’t match the atmosphere. With some improvements in ingredient quality and value, this place could better align with the experience it aims to offer.

Went to sato Izakaya with my family. The food was good but the tonkastu broth was not very hot when the dish arrived and also we found the noodles a little bit aldente for us. Great vibes inside.

Had the best experience at Sato Izakaya! The food was incredible and the small portions make it easy to try a few different things which I love! The service was quick and efficient even with a large group. 10/10 experience!

Overall a pleasent experience with staff, food was tasty. If you go on your birthday you get a bowl of really good ice cream! Don't go if you're looking for sushi though...!
