Quite disappointed, I tried other Sammi & Soupe Dumpling locations and this one was not as good. The dough for the dumplings was too thick and there were barely any fillings inside. They were half empty.

Been 3 times. Solid restaurant…everything was great. Only disappointment during last visit was that they did not have the dessert.
Delicious soup dumplings, multiple varieties as well as pan fried dumplings. Great cucumber salad.
Yummiest chicken and mushroom soup dumplings and food came very fast.
I visited this restaurant because of its high Google rating, but the experience was extremely disappointing. The soup dumplings and fried dumplings were all small size, bland, and lacked any real flavor. The dumplings in the soup were unbelievably small — literally bite-sized. Although the water bottle looked fancy, the tap water tasted awful. Overall, this was one of the worst Chinese restaurant experiences I’ve ever had. I definitely won’t be returning.
highly recommended, probably the best soup dumplings in Montreal
Food came pretty quick, it was delicious. No other comments
Seaweed salad was rather sweet, but black vinegar solved that. Juicy (soup) pork dumplings were good, but perhaps a bit boring - I'll get something else next time.
We visited Sammi and Soupe Dumplings in Chinatown in mid-May 2026. This spot was kinda busy so we had to wait for a table to open up. We ordered a steamer of 2 different soup dumpling flavours (extra $1 to split the flavours) and went with the Classic Juicy Pork ($12.99) and Pork, Shrimp, and Scallop ($14). The xlb have a thickish knot on the top but they were juicy on the insides. Also had the Hot and Sour Cucumbers ($7.99) which were a bit spicy as well as crunchy. Luckily, the Pork and Cabbage Dumplings come in half-portion sizes because we were already full but wanted to try them out. They have that characteristic fried skirt. The filling were a bit small but they were plump. Food was pretty good and I like they had lots of options as well as being able to order half/half flavours or half-sized potions.
Very nice xiao long bao restaurant in Chinatown. Very clean. The wrappers are a little thicker than typical. Juicy soup. I recommend the typical pork rather than specials. Cucumbers were good too.
As a part of my Sperm Donation World Tour of Canada I visited here for an early dinner got the fried dumplings beef and curry and chicken and cabbage both really flavoursome.
Nothing short of outstanding by any and every measure. Simply awesome.
Busy on a Friday evening and there was a waiting list. Worth the wait. Place had a buzzing vibe. Food was delish and the service very friendly. We had the pork & chive, shrimp, and chicken & mushroom. Finished with a red bean dessert (this wasn't that great but the rest made up for it).
This dumpling restaurant in Chinatown, Montreal, serves delicious dumplings and a variety of Chinese dishes. While the menu isn’t extensive, it offers enough options to satisfy most cravings. The service is prompt, and the restaurant has a limited number of indoor tables, which may be a bit of a drawback considering its popularity. However, the waiting time is not too long.
There was nothing wrong with the service, but the food was genuinely not that good. It’s not bad, per se, but there was too much dough in the dumpling. The soup dumpling had a few drops of soup, and you have to chew through centimetres of skin to get to the meat. Once you do, it tastes good. The sauce and the seasoning in the pork is good. But dumplings should not have so much skin, it makes it too chewy and dry.
Really good dumplings here. Very popular so you will likely have to wait a little but the staff do a great job organising the queue and getting people served quickly. 3 good vegetarian dumpling options to choose from. Also a tofu starter which was great.
Quick service, very friendly staff, and the soup dumplings were great in general and for the price. Our server said it was his first day and he was fantastic! C’est très bien!
ordered takeout, $18 for 10 cold dumplings, numerous groups after me were seated and got their food, I waited exactly 30 minutes (time on the receipt), I was about to cancel my order and leave but the girl came and whispered "sorry, we got you free marinated cucumbers" so I was like "ok, at least they are trying to do something about it" just to realize they actually did not give me anything and they got my order wrong!
I like tha fact that I can have lamp and shrimp in one bowl Anyway, it was good!
Best dumplings 🥟✨✨loved it
Sammi & Soupe Dumplings are at the top 10 in the area of Montreal, when to try the Dumplings on a very busy Saturday morning and the waiting was around 20-30minutes depending on the party’s size, the waiting was worth every second, by far best Dumplings we ever had!
Authentic, spot on soup dumplings. My friends I vist MTL x2 a year...and this is only must have repeat visit! Go there!
I hope this shows how good I’ve eaten
Had them taken out for multiple nights during our stay in Montreal near the Chinatown. Can confirm all the dumplings we tried were amazing, esp. the soup dumpling. But even the traditional steamed ones were very filling and tasty. In a plethora of dumpling options there, this one stands out.
Really nice authentic food in Chinatown
