My family visited while traveling through Montreal, and this dinner ended up being one of the highlights of our entire trip. From the moment we sat down, everything about the experience was exceptional. Our waitress, Aubrey, was truly one of the best servers I've ever had. She was warm, welcoming, and seemed to anticipate what we needed before we even had to ask. Our drinks were always topped off, she answered every question with enthusiasm, and she made us feel less like tourists and more like guests she genuinely wanted to take care of. What really stood out was when she took the time to write down a list of her favorite places to visit in Montreal. We ended up using several of her recommendations during our trip, and they made our time in the city even more memorable. The food was equally impressive. The Caesar asparagus special was absolutely delicious and the perfect start to the meal. We ordered the Moitie Moitie and both birds were cooked perfectly, with crisp, flavorful skin and incredibly moist meat, even the breast meat. It was our family's first experience with guinea, and it did not disappoint. It was similar in size and flavor to chicken, making it approachable while still feeling like something special. Great food is memorable, but great service is what turns a meal into an experience. Thanks to Aubrey and the entire team, this was a dinner our family will be talking about for a long time. If we lived in the area, we'd be regulars.
What guests say about Rôtisserie La Lune
Rôtisserie La Lune seems to be very well liked for its attentive service, warm atmosphere, and tasteful decor. Many customers highlight juicy chicken, crispy fries, a good sauce, and memorable desserts, with portions often considered generous. However, some reviews mention a noisy place, high expectations relative to the price, and a few disappointments with cooking, seasoning, or service speed. Overall, it is a popular spot that many people enjoy, but some meals can be expensive for some customers.
Reviews / Ratings for Rôtisserie La Lune
A good restaurant but on the overpriced side. Service was excellent. A tad too noisy. The shared platter (Menu du Rôtisseur) was interesting for first timers. Bread should DEFINITELY be included and unlimited for the meal. (just like the coleslaw and sauce) Tea should also be included when you pay 75$ per person. We were surprised at the end to even be charged for it, 4$ each. 19$ for a wine glass that was not even half full? That was a rip off. Overall, great experience and great food but missing a few details to truly be worth the price. I’d recommend but gotta be extra careful not to end up with a 400$ bill.
Excellent birthday dinner and spot. First of all the service is fantastic. The quality of the food was perfect. It’s a place we will come back to and bring friends to. All the servers were very knowledgeable and the level of care is there without feeling stuffy. Don’t miss the bernaise sauce.
We had such a great time at Rotisserie La Lune! The food was awesome and the wine selection was outstanding. Special thank you to Apolline for the wine recommendations and the rest of the team for their hospitality!
Where do i start? From beginning to end, the food was phenomenal. Every bite was better than the next. The pictures speak for themselves. Reserve in advance. Enjoy.
We had such a special meal here! It was our first visit so we opted for the tasting menu, which exceeded expectations. It was a great sampling of items & left us full with a bit leftover. Some of the menu items are simple but so well executed— especially the gravy & bordelaise. Also, our server was very knowledgeable on the wine menu (we tried something entirely new), enhancing the meal even further. All of the service staff were so warm & accommodating! The staff switched to English to interact & present dishes- not expected, but so appreciated!!
We visited on a Saturday night and were glad we had made a reservation, as the restaurant was very busy. Despite the crowd, the atmosphere was warm and enjoyable. We ordered the Fondue Louis d’Or, Chicken Noodle Soup, half chicken, and coleslaw salad, and everything was delicious. The service was excellent, and the staff were attentive and friendly. We would definitely recommend this place.
Superb experience for a more than decent price! Incredible service and laughs from our waiter. Carefully explained the menu. Food was very good, affordable and full of taste. A lot of shareable items the help experience the whole menu. I don't go to restaurants often but Rôtisserie La Lune left a lasting impression.
Very flavorful rotisserie chicken. Great green salad as well as French fries.
We had an amazing experience at Rôtisserie de La Lune. We got the 75 prix fixe menu that was a special they offered at the time. The food was super fresh and delicious! The portion size was really generous and more than enough for my girlfriend and I. Their service was top notch! Our train to Montreal was delayed by 2 hours but they accommodated us and saved us a table even though the restaurant was fully packed that night! Would highly recommend.
Best service ever and food was great!
Incredible! The food, service, and vibe were all outstanding. The hostess, bartender, and every server were so friendly and helpful. The atmosphere was very cool. And the food was great. We had the rotisserie guinea fowl, and it was perfectly in between chicken and duck. Don't sleep on the chicken soup or stuffed chicken wings!
Phenomenal service, great food, must try
What an amazing place, the food was great. The place is super chill and so cute! Food was tasty and so fresh! But the service..... absolutely top notch. Our waiter was hilarious and super attentive. The manager was also amazing and super sweet. Honestly a great evening all around.
Fantastic experience from beginning to end. We chose the Menu du Rôtisserie — generous portions, beautifully prepared, and absolutely delicious. Sitting at the bar turned out to be the perfect choice; we felt almost like part of the team. The servers were engaging, chatting with us and explaining their outstanding cocktails with real passion and knowledge. Despite the restaurant being busy and lively, the atmosphere was comfortable enough that we could easily talk and hear each other- something we really appreciated. A well-deserved Michelin Bib Gourmand mention. We’ll definitely be back.
Nice but a bit overhyped in my opinion.
Absolutely delicious! The chicken was tender and juicy, the stuffed wings flavourful, and the onion bread was very good. 10/10!
Went for lunch. Service was very slow (1h before we got appetizers) All sides and appetizers were good, chicken was underwhelming.
Wonderful food and a great atmosphere. The service was excellent throughout. We booked the private room, which worked perfectly for our group of 10. The decor strikes a nice balance—immaculate yet unpretentious and cozy. The food was satisfying and comforting, exactly what we were hoping for.
Amazing service! We had a group birthday dinner back in February and the staff was so incredibly kind. The food was definitely worth the price and so good!! The appetizers were especially creative and tasty. Will be back for sure!
Expect to wait 30-40 mins even if you have a reservation.
My partner and I went to La Lune to relax. As soon as the bill arrived (without even asking if we wanted anything else), we were practically kicked out. The hostess (who was clearly stressed) told us that tables were reserved for two hours. We were only there for 1.5 hours. The stress of the La Lune staff shouldn't be passed on (in such a rude way) to the customers that go to these places precisely to de stress.
Second time here and it didn't disappoint! The croqu'ailes are a must and between the chicken and the guinea fowl I would go with the latter. I like to call this place an elevated St-Hubert, but it's truly the best québécois-style chicken you will ever find in Montreal. Priced adequately and you definitely come out full.
Been a few times. Hasn't disappointed once. Absolutely stellar and nostalgic
Delicious food. I counted 15 or so waiters/employees, which partly explains the excellent service. Beautiful decor.
