Honestly, its ok. The food is fine but the prices are higher than at "ma poule mouillé", which is really close to the restaurant. It is much more worth it to go there because the prices are unmatched and the food quality is superior to here. Another thing I didn't like about this place, is that they charge you for nonsense. At the other restaurant they dont charge you for the sauce but here they do, which is insane because the food itself is also more expensive, so you would think that the sauce is included but no. Also, we bought these cream-filled donughts but they had no cream. They were basically empty. Another thing is that the bathroom here is really dirty too. It looks really old and nasty. In conclusion, just go to "ma poule mouillé". Its less expensive, cleaner, the food tastes better AND the vibe is amazing.
What guests say about Romados
Romados seems to be appreciated for its Portuguese chicken, generous portions, fast and often friendly service, as well as several well-liked desserts and pastries. Many customers find the food very good and the place convenient for a quick meal, with good value for money according to some. However, a few reviews mention price increases, waiting, or disorganized service, and there are also some very negative comments about quality and consistency.

Fantastic stuff. Coffee is great but Portuguese delicacies are amazing... unbelievably tasty.
Tastiest and best value Portuguese chicken. It's mostly pickup but they have a few tables. You don't need to preorder, it's really fast . Montreal landmark
Excellent Chicken and Service. They were very generous
A CLASSIC Montréal institution. Delicious, original flavour and great service! A must when in Montreal. Even the desserts are excellent. Very reasonable pricing for the portions!
Good is good but very disorganized long line they serve one person at a time take their order prepare it and go to next Not good service, unfortunately I can’t recommend it unless you have 20 min just to wait
Friendly staff, fast service, and great food. Highly recommended! Oh and great, great desserts :)
Food great as always. The cashier guy is very cool. Portions were huge so I have food for the next few days
Not what it used to be
Kudos to the new owners. They rebuilt this brand in a great way, that it reminds me of when you felt you are getting your monies worth. The food is amazingly fresh. Good fortunes to their future.
Generous portions of chicken and fries. Food is well prepared and fairly priced.
A good place with friendly staff and huge portions of delicious food at an affordable price
Taste is the same in the montreal area. Good people and the chicken was crispy and tender
Same great food, same friendly faces, new amazing location! Congratulations! Everything was excellent!
The best Portuguese grilled chicken in town thanks to the amazing service by Nick. Everything was awesome.
Serving one of the best Portugese sandwiches in the city.
Update on the pricing 17$ for a quarter leg is wild
Fast, efficient and friendly service. Great meals at very affordable prices. Some of the best bifana and chicken sandwiches in the city. Worth the trip.

I went to pick up a family combo dinner on Sunday (Feb 22nd 2026). Before visiting, I looked at the menu (pictures posted by other users - 4 months ago). The family combo was priced at $33.99 (ther user's pic). When I got to the ordering counter, I noticed the price for that combo went all the way up to $39.99. In other words, the price went up by $6. That is a close to 20% increase. Now, I understand food cost, labor cost are all on the rise, but a 20% increase?? Service was rapid, courteous and professional. Food was average - nothing stands out particularly. However, when prices rise by this much without any noticeable justification, it's just a money-grab. Thank you, but no thanks. Definitely my last visit.
I’m missing Portugal so I went to this Portuguese restaurant in Montreal and was amazed with their authentic chicken piri piri. Will definitely come back.
Great experience and generous portions.
Hands down best Portuguese chicken in the city! Amazing staff as well.
