Update July 2026: While the food is still good, I wish that there was more transparency about the prices. Those aren't clearly displayed neither at the restaurant nor in the website. For example: is using the light takeout boxes versus using the heavy dine-in plates ends up paying different prices? I have got no idea - do you? In fact it's not easy to test and compare these to options for real. . All I know that everytime I end up paying more than I anticipated, which is why I visit Vego not too often. --- Similar to the other reviews: the choice of food is good, but, since it's by the weight it costly. We ended up feeling a plate modestly with soup and some desert (which is mainly bakery) is around $30 for each. While the price is clearly advertised inside (for 100 gram around $3.10 for hot or cold and $3.35 for desert. I don't recall the soup price; not sure whether there was a clear sign). I was surprised by the small size of the place, which may explain Végo prices. Room to improve: 1) soup variety 2) desert variety and having more than just bakery

This is my 2nd visit to Montréal and I revisited this resto situated in an interesting and bustling neighborhood. The resto is in buffet style with a good variety of different cuisines. It is NOT all-you-can-eat and the price is charged by weight. But you can try a little bit of everything! I particularly liked the artichoke salad and the marinated asparagus. If you don't want to pay extra for canned drinks, there are jugs of water which you can serve yourself.
Decent vegetarian food. Dessert was good.
It's good, I've gone here since it was called commensal back in the day. I don't like how they have a tip option on the debit machine that you have to go out of your way to say no to, while the cashier watches you. Pay your staff better instead of embarrassing poor customers.

I loved my experience at Resto Végo! I was a big fan of Commensal, as I went there often as a kid, and was looking forward to reliving that same experience. It was even better than I expected, the location and the freedom to choose between their 2 floors makes you feel at home. The food at the buffet was amazing, everything was well cooked, seasoned and seemed fresh. I also really appreciated the option to open a table and being able to go back and forth at the buffet and only pay at the end. Its a perfect mix between a nice, cozy restaurant and the feeling of the freedom of choice. Greatly recommend!
Theyre closing down??? Last time it was Continental now its Vego, I hope they come back under a new name.
Its fine. But a little expensive on some items for what it is. Could also have more choice. Small buffets

This is a fantastic spot for a hot and cold buffet. Large variety of vegetarian and vegan dishes clearly lableed in French and English. Lots of dessert options as well. Delicious food all around! Will definitely revisit on our next trip ❤️
Food tastes so bad that it’ll make you wanna eat meat again. Had a veggie looking sausage that left a bad taste in my mouth from the first bite.
