I must start by saying the Griot was delicious. 10/10 for the Griot. I ordered one plate of Riz collé with Griot that seemed fine (it was for a colleague) and I ordered a Riz djondjon with Griot for myself. It shows they open at 1030 am. When I got there, it was 1105 am. I called twice at 1033 and 1040 and no one answered the phone. I wanted to make sure they were really open since I had to drive all the way there before work at 1230. When I got there, I was told it would take 15 mins. It took 30mins. I opened the container while still there to look at the food and it smelled really bad like en créole (Santi su). I had to ask the lady if it was made fresh. She told me it was made the night before and it is to be expected when we order so early. The lady was very nice by the way. Everything in me was telling me to not take it but the shy and non confrontational person in me took it anyways. I paid $47 for both plates. When it was time for my lunch, I opened the container and it smelled sooooo bad, I couldn't even eat it. I ate the Griot only but the rice had gone really really really bad, I had to throw it all away and that's very upsetting. My point is, if you say online that you open at 1030 am, then please come to work earlier and serve fresh food at the time you say you are open....or if you cook the night before, that's fine too but you have to learn how to properly conserve your food and you also need to be self aware and realize when your food has gone bad and not serve it. It's 2am and I'm still mad about it cause I paid for a food I had to throw away. I Just ate plain Griot with pikliz for lunch. Dommage cause they were really nice and food had potential, but it had gone bad and they still served it. I would recommend to still eat there cause it has potential but just make sure it had not gone bad.
What guests say about Resto Chez Garha Grillade Créole
Highly appreciated Haitian Creole restaurant in Montreal, with a high average rating and many positive comments about the quality of the dishes, the flavors, and the generous portions. The service is often described as warm, welcoming, and fast, with a pleasant atmosphere. However, a few customers mentioned uneven experiences, especially with some takeout or delivery orders, with portions seen as disappointing or certain dishes not turning out as well.

Really good place to eat specially the owner very cordial I’m very satisfied with the service and good portion with the food. Highly recommended
Woww, I was having such a rough day until I started eating this food. Flavourful in every bite, you could taste the love and time put into it. This is the type of plate that makes you feel nourished after eating. My first time trying Haitian food and a new must eat when visiting Montreal. Thank you very much 🙏
really good service the food was delicious!! thank you again
First time ordering from this location and my experience wasn’t the best. The turkey hair was still on the turkey and aren’t removed which is crazy. & the legume tasted burnt and no flavour. I really had high hopes for the food when I came to this location because of the reviews. Maybe it wasn’t a good day . But the lady at the location was sweet
I took griot and poulet with riz colle it was amazing waited 10min to be served fresh food. must say it a 10/10. Recommend
Really Good service! Call Before to make you order. 🫶🏻🫶🏻 We will be back soon!

Came to Montreal looking for good hatian food and this was bomb ! 💣🔥 And the lady was so kind and welcoming 💕
Amazing service & amazing food, Garha is very respectful & polite and most importantly very generous. The quality of the food is very good. Definitely recommend & will come back!
I love this hidden gem. We went for the first time today and wow, the customer service was exceptional and the food was absolutely delicious. Their portions were also really generous. This is definitely a small business that deserves all the support, if ever you're close to cote-des-neiges, this place is definitely worth a visit.
Everything was good, the lady is so sweet, and her restaurant it’s clean, I felt comfortable anytime! 10/10
Super
I’m from London, Ontario, and really wanted to try Haitian food for the first time while visiting Montreal. Resto Chez Garha Grillade Créole came highly recommended, especially from people's reviews who said it reminded them of home-cooked meals in Haiti. After reading that, I felt like this had to be the place for my first experience. The staff told me the meal would put me into a “food coma”—and they weren’t wrong. As I ate, I felt an instant wave of relaxation. I put on some konpa, and between the music and the food, I had an incredible time. The lovely woman working there guided me through the menu, and I decided on the griot with riz djon djon and a side of pikliz. The combo came with griot, djon djon rice, plantains, pasta, a fresh salad layered over the pasta, and a rich, flavourful broth-like sauce. Beyond combo platters, they also offer creative options like griot or chicken poutine, along with authentic Haitian dishes such as pâtés (stuffed pastries with beef, cod, or chicken) and lalo avec riz (lalo with rice). The spot itself is tucked in the back of a dépanneur, conveniently located on Rue Jean-Talon. I don’t know when I’ll be back in Montreal, but I’ll definitely be returning to Resto Chez Garha Grillade Créole on my next visit. Thank you for introducing me to Haitian food and culture
Mezanmiiiii best Haitian food I’ve had since coming to Montreal!!! Pou jan ‘m te bezwen on manje konsa. Truly authentic Haitian food, that is so so good you will not regret. And they give you big portions too for a very good price!!!! I found it by chance on Uber and decided to try it because I had a good feeling about it. I was not let down, if anything my expectations were surpassed. I’ve been looking for a good Haitian restaurant since leaving Haiti and coming here and honestly this is The closest thing to the taste of back home that you can get in Montreal, like I’m being so serious. Amazing food, amazing people, amazing service. I’m definitely a new (and now loyal) customer starting today🥹🫶🏽. Ke bondjye Beni nou, God bless!!!! 🇭🇹🇭🇹🇭🇹🇭🇹
Excellent !
One of the best Haitian food spots in Montreal !
food was delicious, but the service was even better. 10/10 recommend
I haven’t had Haitian patties for over a decade. It did not disappoint, had me happy dancing in car on my way home. I will be back. Thank you for your wonderful service💕
We ordered for take from here and it was amazing and so filling, I love the bean sauce and kept it for other meals I make at home lol. Rice was amazing as well, would recommend 100%
I recommend this shop to everyone… very friendly and polite staffs
It was my first time trying Haïtien food and it was so good. I've never tried plantain and never thought I would ever enjoy it , I loved it so much I'll be getting it more often. The chicken was spicy and juicy and a perfect amount for the plate. And the bean rice was very tasty, it came with a sauce. For the small size it was very big 100% recommend to try.
The lady who served us was super nice. The food was amazing.
The griot and grilled chicken plates were great and they give large portions.
