We went for lunch at Resto-Bar Le Capitaine during our visit to Valcartier Bora Parc, and it was a really disappointing experience. At first, there were just two of us, and the server came across as cold and abrupt. I honestly wondered if it was because I was speaking English. We ordered nachos to share, and shortly after, the rest of our group joined—five of us total (three kids, two adults). Despite there being multiple servers on the floor and only a handful of tables, we waited about 15 minutes just to get basic attention. After asking for water and menus, the server eventually dropped off two glasses—with napkins and cutlery stuffed inside—and walked away. No menus, no water service, no follow-up. My husband ended up getting up to pour water himself, only to realize the glasses were clearly dirty. We continued waiting, but no one checked on us or acknowledged the table at all. When we finally went up to pay, the server said, “I thought they want food.” I explained that we did, and she responded with, “Didn’t you see me with other customers?”—which really summed up the level of service we experienced. To top it off, the $30 nachos we initially ordered were half burnt. Overall, the experience felt disorganized, inattentive, and frankly unacceptable. Between this and the rest of our visit, it really seems like the facility is either understaffed or poorly trained.
