Tasty food and great ambiance. Service was awesome
Reviews / Ratings for Restaurant Veranda
Amazing Indian fusion spot with bold flavours and beautiful presentation. The lamb ghee roast, Mangalorean shrimp, and chicken biryani were standout dishes — the biryani especially felt like home. Loved the cocktails too, especially Whispers of Veranda, which was super refreshing with a unique pani puri-inspired cocktail flavour. Great ambiance and overall a really memorable dining experience.
Amazing food and service. If you are visiting Montreal, this place is a must. In vegetarian, I would recommend the jackfruit tacos and paneer methi makhana. Great taste. In non-vegetarian, try chef's special lamb ghee roast.
Absolutely loved this place! Hands down the best Indian restaurant I’ve been to in a long time. The dal makhani was unbelievably rich, creamy, and full of flavor — easily the best I’ve ever had. Every dish tasted authentic and freshly made, and the service was warm and welcoming. Can’t wait to come back again!
I really enjoyed the food here! The service was great, and they were very accommodating for dietary restrictions (I am lactose intolerant and they brought a coconut milk sauce instead if the raita that comes with this dish, removing all dairy as well). The chicken biryani was very tasty, a tiny bit on the spicy side for me (I have very low spice tolerance). I would recommend eating here if you are in Old Port and craving Indian food!
Great place for Indian curries and breads.
Indian food, delicious, curries are all gluten free
We visited this restaurant recently during our Montreal trip. I strongly recommend this place for authentic Indian food and it was awesome. Paneer Martban is lovely and the bread is also amazing. However, we noticed that the greetings by Manager Mohit should be more welcoming than just directing for seating arrangements.
Delicious food and very good service. If they just heated the plates up it would be even better. Background music a little too loud.
Fantastic little place in Old Port. The staff we very friendly, were happy to guide us through the menu and portioning. Despite our server mentioning the spicy was a more traditional hot spicy, it wasn't anything crazy. If you're someone who enjoys heat, do the spicy option. The gulab dessert was lovely. Leave space for it!
Get the mango lassi cocktail!!! The food was amazing! 10/10 spot.
Very tasty food and great presentation. However, the portions were rather small and unfilling and the service was slow.
This place has an amazing ambience. We were there for dinner and tried Dal Makhani & Martaban ka paneer with chur chur naan. Everything was delicious. The location is nice too.
The food was unbelievable, and we already come from somewhere where there's a lot of great Indian cuisine. The interior was elegant, and wait staff was attentive and polite. 10/10 experience.
Shubham did a great job serving us . Very professional and polite . Also , Compliments to the chef for making so delicious food everything was on point its a bit expensive but worth the experience
High quality Indian restaurant. It’s a shame there are so many bad reviews for Valentine’s Day, which was obviously just a one off busy, possibly understaffed night. The food here is of absolutely excellent quality. The Mangsher Ghugni was one of the best lamb curries I’ve ever had, paired with the Chicken Tikka Masala, and the vegetable pilau rice and roti were the perfect accompaniment. Good beer and wine choices and they do really good cocktails too. Highly recommend.
Amazing food, highly recommend!
The restaurant is located in the Old Port, and its ambience is quite pleasant. While the menu options are limited, the quality and taste of the food more than make up for it. We tried the chicken malai and rara chicken—both were absolutely delicious. This was our second visit, and we’ll definitely be coming back again.
Beautiful restaurant. Everything we ordered was delicious and the staff were lovely!
This place offers really nice food in a hard to beat location with a really nice atmosphere. By request they can make the dishes spicier which is always appreciated. Starters are so good you can’t miss them.
We dined here for Valentine’s Day which was extremely overbooked! The food was quite decent, but our appetizers were cold which was a soup. The set menu missed a little diversity and overall the service was subpar due to overbooking reservations. For a 7:15PM reservation, we were seated at 7:45PM, and only got our second course around 9:30PM, leaving the restaurant at 11:00PM. There were way too many patrons for the amount of staff working and no one seemed to care…
Outstandingly kind and welcoming service. The food was nothing short of excellent and spices were on-point. I strongly recommend this place.
Some of the best Indian food I've had. So much so, that in the week I was in Montreal, I had this place twice. Things I tried that were amazing, in my opinion: Lamb Rogan Josh, butter chicken, lamb vindaloo and the garlic naan. This was a highlight of my first time in Montreal and I would definitely visit again if I'm there again!
We visited Véranda for Valentine’s Day and, while the atmosphere was nice, our experience was impacted by timing issues. We had a reservation for 6:15 PM but weren’t seated until around 7 PM, and we left the restaurant at 9:30 PM. The food itself was decent, but the long wait between courses made it difficult to enjoy. Additionally, the soup we received was a bit cold and would have been much better served hot. We understand that Valentine’s Day is busy, but reservations and pacing are ultimately the restaurant’s responsibility.
We celebrated valentine’s day here. Our reservation was at 6 and we only got seated at the bar around 6:40. We then got moved to a table around 7. The tables were cutely decorated for valentines but the service was horrible. We waited until 8 to receive water and to order. We received our soup around 8:30, and entres around 9:00. After waiting and being patient, we grew annoyed. The waitress offered us a free soda to make up for the long wait. It was appreciated but definitely not enough compensation considering we only received our meal around 9:45 (almost 4 HOURS after our reservation)! We honestly should have left. This is the WORST experience I have ever had, and the service was truly unsatisfactory. However, the food was amazing, very flavourful and the presentation was gorgeous. Really unfortunate and disappointing that we won’t be back.
