I had the koobideh here with rice and bread. The whole dish was excellent, nothing tasted “just good”. Truly exceptional food. Upon leaving the restaurant I hurt myself going down the stairs, and the owner was very gracious with helping me out. We need to give more business to kind hardworking people, and a lot less to big corporations who don’t even see us or the people working for them. Thank you again Shamdooni

The Ghormeh Sabzi was excellent! The rice was delicious, especially the crispy tahdig and the meat was so tender. Everything was absolutely delicious. "Thank you" Highly recommended!

The food was absolutely delicious! I highly recommend the Kashk-e Bademjan (eggplant dip), Baghali Polo (dill rice with fava beans), and lamb shank. Everything was flavorful and perfectly prepared. Definitely a must-visit restaurant!

I recently had the pleasure of savouring a truly soft and delicious sweat sour Fesenjan stew. The price is reasonable for the quality and satisfaction it provides. We recently added this Iranian restaurant to our work lunch list, and I’m thrilled to have discovered their perfectly cooked, saffron-infused, and tahdig-topped cocked rice. It’s a warm and satisfying lunch that I’ve truly enjoyed. Thank you all for sharing such great food with everyone! Well done!

We had a lovely time at Shamdooni! The restaurant has a beautiful, welcoming atmosphere, and the staff were very kind, respectful, and hospitable. I was happy to find Ash-e Doogh on the menu after such a long time. I really enjoyed it, although it still doesn’t quite match the authentic taste of Sarein’s famous Ash-e Doogh! Still, it was comforting to enjoy on a cold day. Unfortunately, my friend’s soup wasn’t quite warm enough. With a little attention to these details, I’m sure the experience can be even better. Wishing the team continued success and a thriving business!

Overall we didn't have a good experience and do not recommend this place: We ordered from this place and the quality was actually very average. The tahchin was not at all tasty with raw and defrosted vegetables which were disgusting. The kookoo was also very thin

I had an excellent experience in this restaurant. We took Kale pacheh, it was delicious and also, the price was really reasonable. The customer service was top-notch, very fast, extremely respectful. I recommend this place to everyone.

We had a very good experience at this restaurant and actually visited twice during our trip. The first time, we ordered koobideh, and the second time we tried Akbar Joojeh and kotlet. Everything was very tasty, well-cooked, and full of flavor. Their Persian Polow, served in a traditional shape, really reminded us of the rice dishes we enjoy back home in Iran. Despite having a large number of customers, the food was prepared surprisingly quickly, and the staff were attentive and responsive. The prices were also very reasonable. The only thing that could be improved is the overall appearance of the restaurant. The interior could use some refreshing, including a fresh coat of paint and a little more attention to cleanliness. Adding tablecloths or more polished table settings would make the dining experience feel much more inviting. The entrance and exterior stairs could also be improved, as they don’t quite reflect the quality of the food and service inside. Overall, we really enjoyed our meals and were happy to come back a second time during our trip.

We ordered Kashk-e Bademjan and Loobia Polo, and the total was around $40. In my opinion, both dishes were quite oily and lacked flavor and seasoning. I also felt that the bread used for the tahdig tasted a bit stale. Of course, this is just my personal opinion and others may feel differently. I wouldn’t give the food any stars, but I gave 2 stars for their customer service.

Finally, I found what I expect from a Barg (steak-like) kabob in Montreal. I had a few outstanding foods among many Persian restaurants I’ve tried in NA, and Shamdooni definitely ranks among the top ones. Very kind and friendly staff made the experience even better. The only thing I’d suggest to the management is to make the entrance more visible with clearer signs. I was about to miss it even though I was following Google map. Highly recommended!

We are from Ottawa and my daughter decided to surprise me and bring me home a beautiful TAHCHIN and a lamb shank (fall off the bone). 👌 We dont have many Persian food options here in Ottawa. Anyways what a nice surprise and delicious and great quality food which made the 2 hours drive and was still fresh and DELICIOUS 😋 VERY GOOD FOOD.
